We have FINALLY made it to the final episode of Season 5, “Swan Song.” Five years of our lives down the drain watching Dawson’s Creek. So, we had to take this episode in chronological order because of all the madness. Everyone in Capeside is at the airport and everyone has a storyline. Some people make some very wrong decisions and some maybe make some surprising decisions. The majority of this episode takes place in the airport as we see the gang heading off (or not) for their summer adventures. A lot of shit goes down so we had to take this episode piece by piece. I do have to note that we sing A LOT in this episode…like more than usual so enjoy that...Lol!

We are yet again baffled by the title of episode 22, “The Abby” but whatever. We give up. Moving on! Quite a few of our favorite cast members deal with some family dramas in this episode. Joey visits her father in jail but he’s been paroled and didn’t tell her. Dawson has a very interesting conversation with his dad at his grave and struggles to tell Joey that he’s gotten an exciting opportunity in LA for the summer. Jen is confronted with an invitation from her estranged parents so will she go on an epic summer adventure with Jack or not. But the real juice of this episode surrounds Pacey and his inappropriate relationship with his boss, Alex. It is a crazy, wild, insane compilation of scenes that almost takes Pacey’s life!

Episodes manquant?

Ooooh, this Alex Pearl and her triangle eyebrows is an evil woman! So today we are discussing episode 21 called “After Hours.” Before we get to all of the drama that is Alex Pearl, it seems like everyone else is preparing for their finals and by everyone we mean Joey. Jack is giving a valiant effort and y’all get to hear my really awesome bro expression. Audrey is pretending to study but she’s only concerned about Pacey and what may or may not be going on with Alex. And let’s not forget about Dawson who also foregoes any studying to have a slutty night with the movie critic from the previous episode. Didn’t think we’d see this chick again. Finally, we hold the juiciest part of this episode until the end - Alex and Pacey. Alex is turning out to be a bit cray and sends Pacey insane mixed messages.
-
Yet again, Dawson’s Creek pushes the boundaries with adults and children. We’re introduced to the next DC villain, Alex Pearl, and her possible illegal maneuvers toward Pacey. Meanwhile, Joey thoroughly enjoys that Charlie doesn’t know all of the ins and outs of her life. Dawson trie s to break out on his own and distance himself from Oliver who went insane during their meeting with a NYC movie agent.
-
They are not "100 Light Years From Home." So stupid...these episode titles! Anyway, it’s spring break y’all!! And things do not get wild, but the gang is treated to free passes to the MTV Spring Break Beach House where all the drama ensues. Meanwhile, Dawson and Oliver are supposed to go to New York to meet with a producer, agent, or someone important in New York about their movie but no, they make a detour so Dawson can tell Joey that he’s in love with her…AGAIN! And in case you were wondering, Cyndi figured out after that watching a whole season of Dawson’s Creek is equal to watching Oppenheimer 7 times! Dang! That is a lot, y’all!
-
We also like to speak in metaphors and going strong are mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce. Take a guess as to what those are referring to...no wrong answers. LOL! So in this week's episode we see Dawson and Oliver premiere their unfinished movie to their friends which turns into one hot big mess and throughout this episode we’re just taken through small vignettes between the gang. There is a “are they, aren’t they” dance with Joey and Charlie. Jen is taken off guard by Grams’s new man friend. Audrey takes Pacey on a very stupid emotional rollercoaster involving her “number.” Dawson inadvertenly insults the movie critic there to review his film but she tricks him into kissing her to make up for it, and in the process throwing her journalistic ethics out the window.
-
So the “Highway to Hell” that was this episode features an insane road trip that Pacey, Audrey, Joey, and Charlie took so that we could all be treated with another scene of Joey singing a whole song! But this ridiculous road trip storyline was only to facilitate the burgeoning mutual crush between Joey and Charlie. And Victoria was having a hell of a time keeping the characters’ names straight because of the incestuous nature of Dawson’s Creek.
-
So we ARE back to regularly scheduled programming and three distinct storylines are happening in this episode. But the major takeaway is that some relationships are heating up while others may be cooling off. Guesses on who’s getting hot and who’s feeling a chill!!
-
The DC writers were on some shit while writing this crazy, insane, batt-shit crazy episode. Joey gets robbed for 30-45 minutes, the robber gets run down by a hit-and-run driver and his whole family seems to be a reflection of Joey’s life. Like what was this episode?
-
The whole gang comes together in this episode, “Guerrilla Filmmaking.” We are filming Oliver’s terrible film with Dawson at the helm as the film’s director. Jen is getting her feathers ruffled with Charlie on set as the lead actor and Audrey is feeling guilty over her feelings for Pacey. And to be honest, the best thing to come out of this episode is we are finally getting what we all want - Audrey and Pacey
-
Dawson is ready to go back to school…film school but this time in Boston with the rest of the gang. This means that he and Jen are becoming closer and closer and more and more in love. So in love that Jen is in fear of losing her radio show. Jack is in major trouble with the school and we learn what the frat really thinks of him. And the biggest storyline of all in this episode is Joey and Professor Wilder crossing a gross and huge ethical line.
-
Per usual, we struggled a little bit to get through this week’s episode but we somehow got it together…barely. So, in this episode, we discover the many uses for a toothbrush as we watch Jen and Dawson navigate living together for the first time in Grams’s house. Meanwhile, Jack moves into the frat house and realizes that he’s living amongst homophobes. Cyndi thinks Jack should see the silver lining here - Jack’s got a room with an en suite all to himself. And Pacey struggles with whether or not to stick around in Boston where he’s starting to plant some roots or take another adventure at sea.
-
I don’t know what Dawson’s Creek means when they say “Something Wild” but things remain pretty tame, at least in our opinion. We spend most of this episode in two locations: at the clubby club with Jen, Audrey…and Charlie and then we're back in Capeside with Jen and Dawson. At the clubby club, we’re privileged to witness some of the most cringe scenes where Charlie hits on Joey, Audrey trying to get some random bro to make out with Joey, and the biggest cringe moment - Joey performing “I Want You to Want Me” with Charlie’s band. Meanwhile, Dawson brings Jen “home” to "meet" his mom whom she knows and watched grow up. So, what is happening right now?

It’s Family Dinner time and like most family dinners there is some drama but to our dismay, there was almost no drama in episode 10, "Appetite for Destruction." At least not as much as we wanted, leaving us with blue balls. Zero satisfaction. Jen and Dawson’s relationship is revealed to everyone, and the awkward family dinner begins. Throughout all of this, Pacey is just trying to make a lovely dinner for everyone while testing out his cooking skills.

So this was a buffer-type episode where 3 out of the 5 main characters plus Grams each tell a scary story. So this episode of Basic Teen TV didn’t have much drama to go over. But out of these 4 scary stories, Joey’s scary story was probably the most relatable. As women, we are always on alert during the night night time hours. And because this was a fluff episode, we decided to tell you our own scary stories. Hope y’all don’t get too scared!

Ok, Dawson’s Creek is back with a drama-filled episode. Thanks gawds! So Jack is testing out what it would be like to be a pimp but instead is proving to be a real douche canoe. Pacey is sneakily trying to date server Karen but it completely backfires on him. And the thing we’ve all been waiting on for the past 4 and half seasons...the final main character on the show to finally give up his most precious gift - Dawson finally has sex! And SPOILER ALERT: He bangs Jen Lindley!!!
Survey question: Do you prefer to eat and then bang or bang then eat?
-
Well, this episode of Dawson's Creek wasn’t any fun at all. We struggle with this one and with that, I struggle to write a synopsis for this episode. LOL!
I guess a little bit of drama is that Jen and Dawson are becoming closer through therapy. She’s been there and done that and now she’s helping Dawson navigate his way through it. Pacey feels the need to be a knight in shining armor and save Karen from herself. And Joey is just figuring out her way through the Rose Lazar project with not-hot Professor Wilder.
-
Dawson goes to therapy and Victoria’s like “Finally!” But he has to go to Boston for therapy because there are only 2 therapists in all of New England. However, instead of going to therapy, he goes to the frat house with Jack and gets hammer time and the party continues on the boat that Pacey’s living on. Dawson avoids all of his feelings regarding his dad and drinks himself into oblivion. To Cyndi, this means he is truly becoming a man. But the real juice from this episode is Jen’s plot to catch Charlie cheating on her. She’s got some help from the "other" girl, whose name is Nora. While it was a completely implausible situation, we were hoping that Nora and Jen would become friends but we all know that’s not gonna happen.
-
So while we may be a little confused by the title of this episode we’ve got a lot of important items to discuss. Cyndi has major beef with the agenda that Dawson’s Creek is trying to force onto us that Professor Wilder is a hottie. Dawson is cracking a little bit because he’s not dealing with his father’s death. Jack is distracted by the fraternity and Toby & Jen are pissed about it. We get a lovely display of gaslighting from Charlie when his and Jen’s relationship hits a bit of tension but Jen may have been right to trust her instincts. But the major question on all of our minds is where is the brie???
-
Today’s episode is a slightly sad one because Mitch is dead y’all….death by ice cream. We cannot believe the writers would send Mitch out like that. So now we are left to discuss how his death has affected those closest to Mitch. And for the first time in Basic Teen TV history, Victoria and Cyndi got choked up with a lump in their throats. We did get through this episode pretty quickly and therefore proceed to talk about the plot holes that Cyndi and Victoria will never get over.
