Doctors have a love-hate relationship with online reviews. A positive review can be great marketing. A poor review can be damaging to the practice. Sometimes a practice earns that negative review, but there are also times there may have been a misunderstanding or the patient is not being true to the facts and the office feels compelled to reply. This might not be a problem in other industries, but healthcare has a thing called HIPAA!
Heather Irving, Director of Customer Success for Abyde, walks us through the Do's and Don'ts.

Interview with Dr. Rick Kattouf, OD turned professional bodybuilder and fitness guru.
While not all ODs aspire to be professional bodybuilders, most are not immune to professional or personal stress. With Rick’s background, I thought he would be a good person to ask about stress management.
The statistics on physician stress (including depression, anxiety, and even a suicide rate twice the normal population) is something we don’t talk about enough.

A topic that comes up frequently in my conversations with doctors – opportunity cost. Doctors want more time for marketing, adding a specialty, staff training, etc. They get pulled in many directions that limit their ability to focus on important areas of growing the practice.
One of those "directions" is HIPAA compliance – very important, but not something that's going to grow a practice or differentiate you in the eyes of your patients.
In the interview, Matt DiBlasi (President of Abyde), shares his insights on HIPAA and strategies for improving office efficiencies.
