Hyper-Masculinity, Toxic Masculinity, And GODLY Masculinity: PART 2
Here on our podcast, we will discuss the ins and outs of marriage and relationships, parenthood, classic living, and navigating the modern era while maintaining traditional values. From philosophy to practical advice, you’ll find out what we REALLY think!
On today’s episode, Jacob and I are discussing hyper-masculinity through the lens of Fight Club. We discuss the difference between hyper-masculinity, toxic masculinity, and Godly masculinity - and why masculinity when shorn of its purpose is simply a waste of time. If you missed part one, make sure to go back and listen to our discussion of hyper-femininity as seen in Breakfast at Tiffany’s! And stay tuned till the end of today’s episode to hear our highlight of the week. If you want to leave a comment, become a premium subscriber today.

Hyper-Femininity And Hyper-Masculinity: PART 1
Here on our podcast, we will discuss the ins and outs of marriage and relationships, parenthood, classic living, and navigating the modern era while maintaining traditional values. From philosophy to practical advice, you’ll find out what we REALLY think!

Quote of the Week:
“The love of heaven makes one heavenly.” - William Shakespeare
Classic Style Inspo
I loved this post from my friend Caitlin’s on her Instagram! She is a beautiful example of femininity, and yet here she is in a cute T-shirt and fun pants. It may not look classically feminine, and yet, with a baby on her hip, her hair swinging behind her, she epitomizes womanhood. It’s not always about wearing a pretty dress and a full face of makeup. Sometimes it’s about wearing something cute, comfortable, and practical so you can be the best mom you can be!
Things I’ve Been Loving: Baby Playpen
This baby playpen has been a gamechanger for Mr. Baby! Because he’s moving around so much, I was concerned that he could roll into wires or hit himself on the floor. This playpen gives him the perfect place to play without parental supervision at all times. It’s perfect!

What You Might Have Missed At Classically Abby…
Quote of the Week:
“You call yourself a free spirit, a ‘wild thing,’ and you’re terrified somebody’s gonna stick you in a cage. Well baby, you’re already in that cage. You built it yourself. And it’s not bounded in the west by Tulip, Texas, or in the east by Somali-land. It’s wherever you go. Because no matter where you run, you just end up running into yourself.” - Breakfast at Tiffany’s
Classic Style Inspo
Today’s newsletter is very inspired by our movie for A.V. Club tonight! Audrey Hepburn’s style in Breakfast at Tiffany’s is truly the epitome of classic. Despite the fact that initially her character is far from it, Holly Golightly’s clothing is always beautifully tailored, modest, and timeless. A boatneck dress, pearls, and kitten heels never go out of style.
Things I’ve Been Loving: Made In Italy Sandals
I love this company’s sandals so much. I bought one pair and found them so comfortable, I bought a second pair in a different color! They are an elevated flip-flop that I can walk in for hours and never feel any pain. I think you’ll love them - just go up 1/2 a size!

Quote of the Week:
"It’s worth remembering that it is often the small steps, not the giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting change." - Queen Elizabeth II
Classic Style Inspo
Today, I wanted to talk about the beautiful, classic, and timeless style of Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen passed away yesterday, and in her memory, we should be inspired to dress as beautifully, modestly, and classically as she did. Pearls, tailored dresses, and wonderful suits were staples of hers and made her look like a true lady!
Things I’ve Been Loving: Battery Daddy
This is such a great organizing tool for your batteries! If you’re like me, you have a ton of loose batteries hanging around your house. You have no idea which ones are new or which ones are dead, and it’s a real pain to figure out! With this case, you can store all of your batteries in the same place as well as test them to figure out if they still have any juice. This is a great buy!

ANNOUNCING: Book Club Is This Week!
I’m excited to share this month’s book club selection! This month we are reading fiction (we switch up month-to-month) and the book we will be reading is…The Undomestic Goddess! Since we have been some doing some major reading, I thought it would be fun to do something more fun and laidback. A quintessential beach read to finish out the summer! If you want to be feminine without being too cutesy, small ruffles along seams is a great way to do it! Big ruffles can look immature, but small ruffles add just the right amount of whimsy.
Things I’ve Been Loving: Tocca Perfume
I’ve had this perfume for a while and I really love it for spring and summer. It’s light, soft, and feminine. If you’re looking for a new scent, I really love this!

Here on my podcast, I give you the BEST advice regarding dating, relationships, motherhood, traditional values, and classic living. As a premium subscriber, you will get access to 3 exclusive podcast episodes every month.
On today’s episode, I’m sharing how to host the PERFECT game night. I think game nights are such a great way to spend time with family and friends, but hosting one takes a little bit of practice. After a bit of trial and error, Jacob and I have really figured out how to have a great night playing board games with the people we love. I’m also sharing my weekly catch up, as well as a new segment - things I love, and things I hate. And don’t forget to stay tuned till the end for my classic tip of the week!

Quote of the Week:
“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” -Leo Tolstoy
Classic Style Inspo
If you’re looking for a way to start transitioning into fall without dying of heat, a dress in fall colors is the perfect way to do it! I’m obsessed with this dress for a ton of reasons, but one is the color palette. Wearing these colors is a small sign that the seasons will be changing soon, but the fabric is light enough that I can continue to wear it even on the hottest of days.
Things I’ve Been Loving: Gleem Toothbrush
I recently bought this toothbrush at Walgreens and fell in love with it. Beyond the fact that it looks so nice, it has a great brush head and a timer that tells you when to move around your mouth and when 2 minutes is up. It’s great!

THE RISE AND TRIUMPH OF THE MODERN SELF: Book Club Is THIS WEEK At 8:30 PM EST!
I am so excited to convene for another ZOOM book club discussion! I love being able to have a live conversation with you all.
Book club is convening this THURSDAY (8/11/2022) at 8:30 PM EST.
Because we are reading a book that is pretty philosophically dense, I’ve invited my husband Jacob to join us so he can address some of the harder concepts. I look forward to him being a part of it! I will send out the link for the Zoom call and it will only be available to premium subscribers. I hope that you all can make that time!
(P.S. I have a really light, fun book in mind for next month’s fiction read. Vote in the poll below and let me know if that’s something you’d like!)

Does this outfit make me look like a Floridian? I love this for warm weather! It’s a top and pants, which makes it super easy to nurse in, and the fabric is so lightweight that I don’t feel sweaty at the end of the day. Find a matching set and you don’t even have to think twice when you’re putting an outfit together! Here’s a cute option on Amazon.
Things I’ve Been Loving: Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
I love this foundation! It’s so long-wearing and provides great coverage. If you’re looking for a new foundation that you can wear all day long, this is a great option.

We are officially in FLORIDA! How cool is that?? It’s about a million degrees here, so I’ve figured out that to look and stay cool, wearing flowy pants is a great solution. I found this matching set (which, P.S., is great for nursing) and it has been keeping me stylish and breezy! Here’s a dupe from Amazon.
Things I’ve Been Loving: Schick Hydro Razor
I recently tried this new razor and I’m loving it! I get the smoothest shave and it leaves my legs feeling moisturized, too. If you’re looking for a new razor, try this one out!

Having a long cardigan to throw over any outfit is a great summer solution to the age old problem of, “It’s boiling outside, but freezing inside!” You can take it off as soon as you go outside, but put it back on when you come in and the A/C unit is running on high.
Things I’ve Been Loving: Monikers
This is a great party game that Jacob and I love! Whenever we have guests over, we love to play Monikers because it’s the quickest way to create inside jokes with friends. It’s sort of like charades…but with a twist. You’ll love it!

To add a touch of modesty to your wardrobe but still keep cool in the summertime, try throwing a pretty button-down shirt over your outfit! I love this little trick - it’s like the summer version of a fall cardigan.
Things I’ve Been Loving: Pot Strainer
If you’re looking for something to make your life more convenient, look no further! This pot strainer clips right onto the side of your pot to drain out the water from whatever you’re cooking. I love how easy it makes things!
