Today we're going to be talking about one of the most tragic and creepy historical moments in our nation's soil. The tale of families trying to pioneer their way over to the West Coast for a new beginning. Between bad luck and bad choicesthe the Donner Party never stood a chance of making it to California in one piece.
April 15th, 1846 89 people and 20 wagons started their Journey, and went into the severe Nevada mountains. Only 45 came out by the time of the last rescue in the late winter of 1847. The Donner Party tragedy solidified their story into the creepy history books forever.

At the base of Mount Fuji, sits a dense and thriving piece of land known as Aokigahara Jukai. From above the dense tree canopy the forest sways and flows and looks like an emerald sea swelling in the wind. The forest below has grown upon hardened magma that was once hot lava that spewed from Mt Fuji during the eruption of 864.
The forest is very unique. With such a dense light canopy , the light within the forest is diminished.
This lush forest is peaceful and serene. Posted signs have a deep message to those who may read it. “Your life is something precious that was given to you by your parents” Or “Meditate on your parents, siblings, and your children once more. Do not be troubled alone”
Families continue down the trail and are on their way.
This forest holds the secrets of someone's last breath and their last moments on this realmThe sadness. The desperation. And sometimes…The shame.
Why have so many chosen to come here to end their suffering?

Lady of the Lake
Lake Crescent has a long history of tales and legends, but this true crime story of the beloved Lady of The Lake is a tragic and bizarre case file on the already existing stack. Hallie Illingworth was a waitress working at the Lake Crescent Tavern. She was a Kentucky farm girl looking for a new beginning in the Evergreen State. She had married a man named Montgomery J Illingworth known casually as “Monty” who was a beer truck driver and known to be a ladies man. Their marriage was volatile.
Unfortunately Hallie went missing shortly before Christmas in 1937 after she didn't show up for work.
July 6th 1940 a few fishermen were out on Lake Crescent trying to get a bite from the local fish when they discovered something wild and gruesome. On the surface of the lake near sledgehammer point they found something wrapped in blankets floating on the top of the water. Inside those blankets they would find the body of a faceless woman that had been hog-tied prior to being placed in the blanket. It was unknown how long she had been there but it was apparent the body itself had undergone a startling transformation. In a bizarre chemical transformation, the flesh had turned into a soap like substance that could be scooped away like Ivory Soap. Who was she? And How did this happen?
