In this episode we find out who the traitor in the Council of the Great River (hint: it's not one of the unnamed extras). Things go sideways pretty quickly as Millie attempts to grab power with the help of the Camarilla. Because things never go wrong for native people when they put their trust in the American government, amirite?
Anacostia inexplicably thinks this would be an ideal time for her to peace out and go on her own side mission, so it's left to Abigail and Adil to defend the Marshalls and the other people in the Cession. Abigail kicks some ass, snaps some necks and is generally awesome as she rallies the witch army to subvert the Camarilla's plans.
Meanwhile, the unlikely duo of Tally and Scylla get together to free Thelma Bearkiller and the other Council members. They get an assist from the local Dodger community along the way.
Sarah Alder takes a trip to Spain where she runs into the former lore master of the Camarilla. They have a tense exchange but Alder gets the info she's looking for. You can tell the lore master wants to ask her a bunch of questions, but she just leaves him hanging. Literally.
Finally, Raelle returns! So I guess that means it's Scylla's turn to be kidnapped, because god forbid we get our gals in the same place this season. Having said that, we do get two favorite pairings back together, as Talder reunite to do some kind of back to the future magic spell and Anacostia and Nicte decide to join forces.
Sorry this episode took so long, but we're staying firm on our commitment to finish out the season, so we've still got 3 more to go. Hopefully we'll get them all out in 2023 ;)

After a hiatus of approximately eleventy billion years, your trusty co-hosts are finally back on the mic and ready to recap the rest of season 3 of Motherland Fort Salem.
In this episode, the gang splits up to do a variety of side quests. Tally goes home to find her mother a little less peace-loving-hippie and a lot more let's-burn-this-mf'er-down. Abigail escorts Alder back to Fort Salem, where some people (Petra) are happy to see Abigail but other people (Feral Penelope) are a lot less pleased. Finally, Scylla and Edwin go on an epic road trip together, featuring lots of terrible dad jokes and some teary reunions with dead terrorist mushroom spouses.
Luckily everyone gets their errands done just in the nick of time, because an invasion force is headed right for the Cession. Ruh roh.

In this surprisingly short episode, the Unit finally gets their day in court, as they are called before the Great River Council to answer for their mischief in the Cession. We love the diverse range of characters representing the seven languages and people of the Cession. Of particular interest is the salty Thelma Bearkiller, who makes an instant impact.
While the group awaits the verdict, Tally is busy trying to figure out if you can fight the future, or if fate is pre-determined and unchangeable. Alder shows off her mycellium vacation home to the other Stewards of the First Song, before she heads back to the surface to say hi to Tally and also to pulverize some Camarilla who dare to attack my precious Edwin Collar.
Alban Hearst yet again escapes his fate, which is annoying, though we love the campy goodness the actor continues to bring to the role.
Also: Anacostia and Sterling escape the Camarilla's clutches. But they have troubling intel to share, since the army that the Camarilla has assembled is pretty scary looking. Dun dun dun!
We review how we felt about the first half of Season 3 and what we're most looking forward to in the back half. We also take your questions. In this episode, we get a variety of interesting pairings: some spicy (Nicte/Scylla), some sweet (Adil sexy dancing for Abigail), some sexy (Wade/Marshall), and some just packed with raw, unclassifiable chemistry (Tally and all her scene partners). Tally and M have a particularly nice moment where M discusses the difficulty navigating a witch world divided along gender lines as a non-binary person.
Meanwhile, the pairing of Anacostia and Sterling attend a very un-fun party, where they're made to fight to the death against other witches. Things get very stabby.
The Camarilla make their next move, as newly sworn in President Silver appoints a civilian oversight committee to make the witches' lives that much more miserable. I can't wait for Wade to come back and crush this bug, y'all.
Finally, Tally has visions of the future, and things like a little too explode-y for Raelle for my taste.Support the Show.

In this episode, the Bellweather Unit gets even more fractured. Adil, Abigail and Tally seek out Khalida, but end up picking up Sarah Alder in the process. Talder fans had a good number of moments between Tally and Alder. Alder is definitely changed - no longer is she the stern general with the perfect hairdo. This Alder wants to nothing more than to drink tequila, eat nachos, and watch Tally Craven dance sexy for her. We here at the podcast approve of this new version. Alas, the fun can't go on forever, because Alder is on a quest to collect all the seeds of the First Song.
Meanwhile, Nicte and Scylla spend some quality time together working on their hand-to-hand combat techniques. It doesn't matter, because the Marshalls easily capture them, along with the rest of the unit. Cession jail looks nicer than real world jail, as the gang is imprisoned in a fancy old manor, where I'm sure tensions will stay low and no sexy times will be had.
Alban Hearst meets up with Kara Brandt and has a very confusingly sexually charged conversation with her. This inspires him to cut his vocal chords out, in favor of an upgrade.
Finally, President Wade tries to move against VP Silver, but the Camarilla beat her to the punch and blow up the White House before she can make a public address condemning the VP. Oh no!Support the Show.

In this episode, the Bellweather Unit sneaks into the Cession. Abigail is worried Scylla is going to steal Raelle away from them, but the Mycellium steals her away first, as she's sucked into the ground and put in a shiny prison somewhere in the earth. Nicte shows off her hamburger Phantom face to Tally, before unleashing some fun new acid and bat-related abilities on some unsuspecting Camarilla agents at a chemical factory. The unit manages to luck into capturing Alban Hearst, only to immediately allow him to escape once the dreaded Cession Marshalls show up on the scene. Khalida acts super suspicious before disappearing (or maybe being kidnapped, I don't know)
Meanwhile, in a much better subplot, Petra hosts a dinner party, M dazzles us with their snappy suit, and we are blessed with the return of two queens in the form of President Wade and Minerva Bellweather. VP Silver is set back in his plan for total domination for the moment, as Wade flexes her presidential power all over him with a rousing speech in support of equal rights for witches.
Also, Penelope Silver is back and 100% more insane than when we last saw her. She tries to choke out our beloved Izadora and is apparently able to transfer into a gaseous form at will. Also possibly insane? The Mycellium network, which does a very creepy "Mother will protect you, my dear" act with Raelle. Yikes.

After a short hiatus, we are back recapping all the action on season 3 of Motherland Fort Salem! We enjoy a riveting hour of the girls moving boxes around a warehouse and living that not-so-glamourous dodger lifestyle. Raylla are hot and heavy, just how we like them. Adil has a case of the baby-crazies and Abigail isn't totally shooting that idea down. Tally and Nicte spend quality time on the roof together being sexy and talking about the future (literally).
Abigail and Tally team up to ruin it for everyone with their selfish and reckless behavior, as they manage to blow the cover of dozens of dodgers by being super suspicious and leading the authorities right to the secret warehouse. Daddy Dodger is not amused and neither is Scylla.
Meanwhile, VP Silver is up to his old tricks alongside Albin Hearst and a new evil blonde lady. What evil plots do they have in store for our witches and the mycellium network, hmmm? Thankfully we have a clue, thanks to super spy M on the case.
Also, Penelope might be back, but in the form of a vengeful rain cloud. Definitely back? Sarah Alder (yeeeeeeeaaaah), freshly sprung from the earth somewhere in Spain and looking better than ever.
Buckle up as we navigate the wild ride that season 3 is sure to hold for us.

We knew we'd need back up before taking on the absolutlely legendary two parter "The Debt" so we called in the lovely Alex Cranz to help us discuss both episodes, plus the season 6 classic "When Fates Collide"

In this special bonus episode we welcome the fabulous Dana Piccoli to the show to talk about all our favorite canon and non-canon ships. We learn a bit about Dana's career, her thoughts on being a pro at moderating conventions, and her love of Showgirls and Yellowjackets. Then we move on to the main event: What were our favorite Raylla kisses this season? Did we warm up to Adil and Abigail this season? When will Anacostia get a love interest that she deserves? What did we think about the non-canon couples/throuples (yes, we talk about Alder)?

On this special bonus mini-episode of the podcast we delve into the world of Piltover and Zaun as we discuss the new Netflix/Riot Games animated series Arcane. What happens when you take a videogame with tons of lore and let an animation studio loose? Apparently magic, because we found a lot to love about the series so far.
We then pivot and use that as a jumping off point to talk about some videogames we have known and loved that feature queer characters. So if you're looking for some fun new games to play (or want to revisit your happy memories of them), check this one out.

In this special episode we welcome Catherine Lough Haggquist, a.k.a. Petra Bellweather, to the podcast to chat with us about all things Motherland Fort Salem and her extensive acting career. In this episode, we interview the absolutely delightful Arlen Aguayo-Stewart. We discuss her acting career, deep dive on her role as Nicte Batan (badass leader of the Spree, professional Tally tormentor, and one of our favorite new additions to the cast), and touch on some of her other roles and passions. We also laugh. Like... a lot. We hope you have half as much fun listening to this as we did recording it.
Go watch Arlen's outstanding performance in the independent film Roads in FebruaryWe'll be reading the book Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow later this year and then discussing it on the podcast if you want to get a jump start on that one

In this bonkers season finale, Sarah Alder's retirement starts out on a pretty crappy note, as she loses all her Biddies, turns into a Groot, kinda dies but maybe doesn't? We have no idea where we go from here, but at least there's a chance we might see Alder again before this wild ride is over.
Meanwhile, Petra takes the reins of power just in time for all hell to break loose, as the Camarilla descend on Fort Salem. Anacostia says goodbye to her mother figure. They both figure they'll try and work within the system to enact change.
Khalida joins her brother in choosing violence this day, as she lava bends a dude to death. It's pretty awesome. More awesome? She and Adil are joining the newly formed Militia on the Run, as they team up with the Trio (who are now on the lam from law enforcement), Quinn, Scylla and Nicte.
Tally loses a mentee, but gains a new psychotic best friend, as we say goodbye to innocent Penelope Silver and hello to sexy swaggering Nicte joining the crew. Nicte is handy both for her fun nicknames she gives the group, as well as her ability to summon a pretty swank party bus for the Militia to drive off into the sunset in.
Most important: we get both a Raylla "I love you" moment and are blessed with an in-person reunion culminated with one heck of a kiss. FINALLY.

(as sung by Sarah Alder)
Don't cry for me, Fort Salem
The truth is
I totally founded you
All through my war days
My long existence
I sang a sad song and
brought the Mycelium into existence
....
The penultimate episode blew everything up - Alder's out, Petra's in, Nicte gets a temporary reprieve, the Camarilla and their witch plague are on the loose in Fort Salem, and oh, the mycelium is made of dead witches. Crazy episode, with some crazy good performances. Hear us scream about all that, plus we answer all your burning questions.

In this episode, Raelle and Scylla finally spend quality time together and have their big dramatic kiss as the musical score soars and the fandom swoons. It's super sweet and super romantic, and honestly, we could die happy right about now. Disappointingly, our Raylla reunion is short lived, as Scylla chooses freedom and pancakes over hanging around with the Army.
If that wasn't enough, we also got a serious dose of Talder goodness in the episode, as Nicte's delusion spell reveals the depths of Tally's MILF-y fantasies about Sarah Alder.
The trio bicker, fight but ultimately rally for one another (with the help of a certain Necro) and manage to finally bring down Nicte Batan. Or so they think... Nicte takes advantage of this moment to try one final assassination attempt on Alder's life, wearing her best Tally disguise.
Also, Petra makes her own move at Alder, starting to line up the political winds in her favor. Do we sense a power grab in our near future? What will Alder do as her enemies get ever closer?

In this episode, Raelle is crushed both figuratively (her mom dying) and literally (by a giant weight). She's subjected to a variety of diabolically ingenious tortures by the Camarilla, who hope to unlock the secrets of her very special mushroom bending powers. Luckily for her, she's got a cute little murder nugget ex-girlfriend, a fierce Mama, and two dumb but lucky friends who are all converging on her location to save the day. Sadly, Mama Collar doesn't make it out alive.
We also see Adil continue his slow yet inevitable slide to the dark side, as we see him unleash his Tarim powers in exciting but troubling new ways. Also, Abigail melts a guy's face off, but let's be honest... we knew she had that in her, so no surprises there.
Finally, Tally and Alder have a squabble, but then Nicte presses her luck and tries to murder Sarah again. Tally leaps to her lady's defense, uncovering a compromised Biddy in the process.
We end on the long awaited Raylla reunion, and I swear to god, they better get to smooching next week or we will have things to say next week on the podcast.

Adil gets a chance to party Bellweather style over the fall break from school. Ain't no party like a Bellweather party because a Bellweather party is polyamorous and dominated by badass women. There's also some light exhuming of corpses.
Meanwhile, Team Army and Team Spree face off over the future of little Tiffany and also Alder's life. While Nicte is dicking around trying to off Alder, Willa and Scylla are busy focusing on the real enemy. They take down the location where Tiffany and the other kids were being held, but it's too late: not only have the kids been moved, but the Camarilla have already moved onto their next target: Raelle. *Dun dun dun!*
We finally get to see a bit more of life in the Cession, which is comprised mostly of good natured salt of the earth people, cute lesbian chic fashion, and other small town touches. Taylor blows the fan base away with her lovely singing, but we get too little of that, and too much of the Camarilla hurting our poor little baby. Tally is surprisingly not helpful.
All this, plus we answer all your burning questions. This one is extra long, in celebration of the launch of our new Patreon page!
