  • Hey friends and welcome to episode #41. In this weeks episode I share my fertility journey and experience with my first egg retrieval. (Part 2 coming).

I have always wanted a family of my own and just figured that it would happen "when the time was right". After moving home from Indonesia in 2020 at the age of 32 and parting ways with my long term partner, I decided to find out where I was in relation to my fertility health. When my AMH results came back as 'low' I realised I was going to need to make a decision.

It is a simple fact that as women age we have less eggs and the quality starts to drop, which could make falling pregnant more difficult. I made the choice to move forward with an egg retrieval so that I could freeze my eggs as a bit of "peace of mind" after debating the topic in my head for months. Do I spend the money? Do I put my body through that? What if I don't need them? WHAT IF I DO?!

I talk through how I got to this point, withdrawing money from my superannuation account to pay for it, the different hormones and what the injection process was like and allllll of the feels that came after the retrieval itself.

This is a raw and emotional share. I am and will eternally be grateful to every single person who reached out to me as I documented this on my instagram account. To every person who checked i, who offered tips, who shared their own experiences; there will never be enough words to say how thankful I am for making this solo process a little less lonely.

Thank you for taking the time to listen, I am SO glad that you are here with me today! Find ME on instagram at either @hightidelowtideau or @a_girl_and_the_ocean

  • Hey friends and welcome to episode #40. In this weeks episode I chat with the infectious Rebekah King. Rebekah is more than just an anxiety and mind shift coach; She is the anxiety coach and co-creator of Moonbeam Monday

Five years ago, she could barely get out of bed. Her stomach was in constant knots; she felt sick at the thought of going to work, and felt fearful at the mere thought of her future. After being introduced to Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) she learned how to retrain her brain from destructive thoughts and erase her old obsessive-compulsive negative thought patterns. Having studied NLP myself, I can vouch for how powerful these methods are and how quickly they can help turn your life around.

The energy in this episode is beautiful, I got very energised and re-inspired and had an ah-ha moment in realising how much NLP had had a positive effect on my life over the last few years.

You can work with Rebekah in many different ways and can find more information on Instagram at @moonbeammonday or https://www.moonbeammonday.com.au/

  • Hey friends and welcome to episode #38. In this weeks episode I chat with the wonderful Mark Koen. Mark is a youth worker and a member of a school wellbeing team and also runs 'Restored Connection' which supports families to stay connected through that teenage journey.

Whilst we do discuss Marks own mental health journey our conversation is mostly centred around the importance connection. We discuss purpose and how we can all wear many hats and he has some great suggestions on where and how to find a community no matter where you live.

This conversation was absolutely cup filling! Another great example of a guest arriving as a stranger and leaving as a guest. I am truly blessed to be producing this podcast and I know you will enjoy it as much as I did.

  • Hey friends and welcome to episode #37. In this weeks episode I chat with fellow podcast producer of the 'Could it Bii' Podcast, HR data specialist, dog mum and backup singer Bianca.

We talk through Bianca's decision to get breast implants initially after coming into her teenage years and not developing the way she had assumed she would. She then went on to develop a host of different, somewhat specific but not always connected symptoms which prompted her to do some digging. We talk through her journey to explant and how she is doing now.

Although BII is not a recognised diagnosable condition there is plenty of information available online and support groups to connect in on.

  • Ok, ok I totally ghosted you! wow, yep terrible form on my behalf BUT I am back and looking forward to this next chapter of High Tide Low Tide!

Today's episode is a little life update so you can get up to date with everything that has been going on in my world and why I disappeared.

Episode #35 takes you through what my 20 week prep looked like for my 3rd body building/fitness competition with ICN. How making a really difficult decision helped shape my entire year and how I managed to stay in my own lane and be really present through the process.

I also discuss the waves I have been riding since show day as I only ever want to be authentic about how I am doing with my own mental health.

Rounding out the ep I discus the start of my journey in collecting and freezing my eggs. A topic I am happy to be creating conversation around.

Super glad to have you all here with me! Please share this ep with others if you think they will enjoy it too.

  • Hey friends and welcome to episode #34. In this weeks episode you will meet the wonderful Bel Ryan. Bel is an art therapist, sees people 1 on 1, runs well-being workshops and is a guest speaker. I was lucky enough to meet Bel last year when working together on the Womens Wisdom and Well-being program we took out to regional towns in South Australia.

In her episode Bel talks through her childhood and what it was like dealing with her dads cancer diagnosis in a small, rural town to how she was treated and subsequently felt different at boarding school. Very interesting to hear her reflections on seeing her first psychologist and the many different modalities she has used and still uses now to help manage her mental health.

Please note we discuss a critical incident in her workplace in this episode so an extra trigger warning in here for those who need it.

There is so, so much to take out of this discussion. Bel is open and honest about her journey and herself and I am so grateful to have had her join me!You can find Bel on Instagram at @ignitewellbeingco or on LinkedIn by searching her name.

  • Hey friends and welcome to episode #33. In this weeks episode you will meet the wonderful Kym Inglis. In January 2010 Kyms life changed forever when he tragically lost his wife, two daughters and a close family friend in a car crash.

Most of us can never even begin to imagine what he has experienced. He talks us through that day, from that feeling of just knowing something was wrong in his stomach to being delivered the worst news imaginable all in such a short space of time. He tells us what those weeks and months were like afterwards and how turning to running, helped to save his own life.

Kym now shares his story with others and hopes to encourage others to seek help when times get tough. I once again, feel blessed to have met such an incredible guest and I know you will take something from listening in to this.

  • Guyyys it has been a hot minute! After a small break I am back with a solo episode today chatting about everything that has been happening in my life recently.

I felt really called to do an episode centred around LONELINESS as it has been a reoccurring theme for me as late. Alone and lonely are two very different things, in this episode I talk through the differences I found after moving back from Indonesia, the stories I created around it and why I always see a black Rav4 everywhere I go.

I chat about dating apps and why I think they're not the answer for me and strap in for a Dear Diary story time after I met Casper the friendly ghost. haha. FML. As always I will share with you my learnings and why I am grateful for the experience even though it left me with cartoon question marks floating around my head.

If this episode speaks to you check out Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett Episode #237 with Chris Williamson, I listened to it twice BACK TO BACK.

After noticing a lump behind his collarbone when getting out of the shower in October 2019 through to his diagnosis with Hodgkin's Lymphoma several months later he talks us through every aspect of his cancer journey.

In the lead up to recording this episode Alex shared his journals that he kept over this time with me and I have to say what truly stood out to me was the positive mindset he was able to adopt.

Listen in to hear what helped him get through those hard days and the things he continues to do now to stay on top of his mental health.

  • Hi Friends! I am so happy to introduce to you Matt Newlands, this weeks wonderful guest! Matt and I crossed paths on LinkedIn and I am incredibly pleased to be able to bring you HIS story. In 2015, after 10 years as a Police Officer with SA Police he was diagnosed with severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Depression. He was battling constant suicidal thoughts and was engaging in extreme risk-taking behaviour. This behaviour led to his arrest at work, the termination of his employment and a criminal conviction. Obviously this was very difficult to deal with especially as his job had become such an integral part of his identity.Matt candidly talks to me about two seperate occasions on which suicide was very much an option for him. We also discuss his worries about keeping his diagnosis secret from work and why he sought help externally. This type of open conversation is so important and I am eternally grateful for his vulnerability. Having been through so much it is incredible to see all that he is doing now to be of service to others. He is a registered councillor, delivers workshops with MESHA, does consulting with men's mental health organisation The Male Hug, is a national community ambassador for RUOK? and was appointed a position on the state government's suicide prevention council representing first responders. We literally could have talked about mental health all night, I know you'll love this episode as much as I do! Hit me up in the DM's and let me know what you think! You can find Matt at @matty.newlands on instagram or at https://mattnewlands.com.au/LINKShttps://themalehug.com.au/https://www.ruok.org.au/https://www.instagram.com/aussie_frontline/https://mesha.org.au/https://www.beyondblue.org.au/media/media-releases/media-releases/landmark-survey-of-mental-health-in-police-and-emergency-serviceshttps://www.beyondblue.org.au/docs/default-source/resources/bl1874-pes-exec-summary-final_web.pdfhttps://www.amazon.com/You-Owe-Ignite-Power-Purpose/dp/0593234987Thank you for taking the time to listen, I am SO glad that you are here with me today!Find ME on instagram at either @hightidelowtideau or @a_girl_and_the_oceanPlease note that in these episodes we will discuss mental health and all that it entails. • In this weeks episode I am joined by the delightful Abigail Cook. Abbey and I became friends through a local gym class and I am so grateful to have her join me on this episode.

She opens up and talks us through her experience with postpartum anxiety and depression. A topic that is so so important and not spoken about enough. With around 14% of Australia women experiencing PND (1 in 7) it is more common than you may think.

We talk about how and where it started and what it looked like for her. With fear being a reoccurring theme, I just know there are many mothers (and fathers) out there who are going to resonate with her story. With so many things changing, pressure to do or be a certain type of 'mum' and the stress of keeping a new born healthy and alive it is no wonder many new parents have a difficult time. Listen in to hear why she feels that everyone going through this journey should have access to a therapist and what may have helped her looking back

There is something in here for everyone to walk away with.

  • I have been very lucky this year to have met some absolutely wonderful men and this weeks guest is one of them. Please meet Nick Braiotta. Breathwork coach, nature lover and yogi.

I made a day out of going to visit Nick and to start our time together he guided me through a 60 minute 1 on 1 breathwork session, listen in to hear ALL ABOUT IT! It was honestly such an incredible experience and I cannot wait to do it again.

We talk through his experiences growing up, putting on a mask and pretending to be someone he was not from a young age just to fit in. He has now taken the very tools that helped him heal and is sharing that with others. It was such a pleasure to share time with Nick, talking through some really important things.

You can find Nick at @nickbraiotta on instagram, I HIGHLY recommend hitting him up for a 1 on 1 session, it was incredibly powerful.

  • Today's episode is high energy so strap in to meet the wonderful Cecilia Ronson! 22 year old, standup comedian, poet, story teller and all round LEGEND.

Join us as she takes us through her journey which started when she was around 12. She was an anxious child who was terrified of letting people down, especially the adults in her life. We discuss her panic attacks and rejection sensitivity dysphoria which is something I found very interesting when I heard about it from her for the first time mid last year.

We also talk about her germophobia, another topic I find super interesting, as I had never talked about this with anyone before. She sheds a light on what it can be like for someone who is living with this intense phobia.

I was lucky enough to work alongside Cecilia as a part of our Womens Wisdom and Wellbeing events with Breakthrough Foundation, visiting regional areas of South Australia, and I just KNOW you're going to love her as much as I do. It is great to chat about mental health with someone of a different age group and see that change is coming!

  • Today you will meet the wonderful Stefan Supic. He is a 24 year old physiotherapist and mindset coach living here in Adelaide

While we do discuss a little around his own personal story this episode is very much a chat between two new friends around mindset.

We discuss what exactly is 'mindset', the challenges he sees his clients come up against, how he is able to integrate this type of coaching within the athletic space and how you can make some small changes to help to improve your own mindset.

We also discover for little I know about sports lol. it is a tennis BAT right,,

As the other half of Man on Purpose running 'Super Saturdays' down at Henley Beach I encourage and invite you to join me in this space on February 18th. I am officially booked in and very much looking forward to it.

You can find Stefan at @stefansupic or @man.onpurpose on instagram.

  • Today you will meet the lovely Sammy Roccisano (and hear me fumble on her surname 2 seconds in lol). She is sunshine in human form and from meeting her you would never have imagined that, not so long ago, she was at a point in her life that saw her have to live back with her parents as she was unable to take care of herself. 2020 saw Sammy working hard in a job that she loved, planning a wedding (and dealing with covid postponements) and renovating a house. With no appetite and close to no sleep she was diagnosed with burn out in May 2021,

Being "burnt out" is a term that many of us throw around with nonchalance but burn out is a very real psychological syndrome that emerges as a prolonged response to chronic stress on the job. Interestingly, a new report found that 62 per cent of Australian employees were experiencing burnout, compared with a global average of 48 per cent.

Prior to meeting Sammy and recording this ep, I didn't really think of burn out in this light and am hoping that you too may learn a little bit more about it. Take her advice and be mindful of your symptoms and reach out for help when you need it. You don't have to go through these things on your own. Furthermore, keep watch on your work mates!

Please enjoy this one! Be sure to look up her business page because as we discussed a small portion of her profits go towards Breakthrough Foundation!

You can find Sammy at @sammy.roccisano or @thepeacefulnook on instagram.

  • Welcome to 2023 friends! My first episode of the year is everything that you have been waiting for and more.

Please meet the wonderful Cain Dover, my guest in todays episode. This is my longest one yet and absolutely packed full of interesting chat. We are talking PLANT MEDICINE. I must admit that prior to talking with Cain I knew very little about plant medicine and assumed everyone who went off to the jungle to experience Ayahuasca were just chasing a high and mad hallucinations. Listen in to Cain tell his journey of how losing the life he had been building for himself in the US, losing his relationship and then losing his father in the same week brought him to a path of healing.

Topics in this episode include; Ayahuasca, Huachuma, Ancestral healing, Masculine vs Feminine energies, Trauma healing and Cold water therapy. Yep, strap in.

This is going to absolutely blow your minds. I don't want to give away too much in the write up so instead a urge you to simply PRESS PLAY then come back afterwards for all of the links.

Please note that HTLT is not encouraging the use of 'drugs', but simply bringing you one mans story of his personal experiences. Take from it what you need xx

  • Alrighty welcome to episode 23 lovely people, join me on a Saturday night on the couch for some chats about what has been happening in my life of late! I am BACK in my 'studio' so audio is on point and my voice is no longer nasal AF.

In today's episode I talk abut just how quickly i returned to my hectic, busy, stressed out self after coming back from 3 weeks of holidays and how I was able to realise it and be like firstly, what the heck! and secondly, whyyyy am I like this??

Side note- I haven't figured that out yet and am welcoming (kind) suggestions lol.

I then give you a bit of an insight to how my 1:1 session with the wonderful Georgia Simecek went last week. honestly wow. It was my first time doing any inner child work and my mind was blown.

Yes, i saw myself clear as day as a 7 year old (check out my IG post to meet her too).

Yes, i was able to take myself back to an exact time my needs weren't met.

Yes, I discovered things about myself.

and YES, I did cry through the entire thing.

Powerful AF. look her up. The amount of growth I had in one session was incredible.

Lastly the main reason for my recording this episode. Men's mental health.

On the back of Movember just finishing up I just wanted to share some statistics that I found online which genuinely made my jaw drop. I have felt called to bring awareness to mens mental health for some time now. This topic is a heavy one but the only way we are going to make any changes is by creating conversation, breaking down those stigmas and helping the men in our lives to know that there is help and that we will be there for them and walk alongside them to get it.

Listen in and let me know how this episode made you feel. Let me know if you reached out to someone afterwards. We are all in this together.

Find embodiment coach Georgia Simecek at @georgiasimecek on IG for more details on how to work with her 1 :1 or join in on one of her courses.

  • Welcome to Episode 22, the second one I recorded on my recent trip to Indonesia.

In this weeks episode you get to meet my very lovely friend V- AKA Veronika.

Like so many of us, she arrived to Gili Trawangan for a short holiday, to do a course and then never left! haha.

BE AWARE- if you visit this small little island you may just get stuck. It is the Indo version of Never Never Land lol.

In this episode V talks us through how even though she would describe herself as having had an 'Astrid Lindgren type childhood' things were not always rainbows and unicorns. Things took a turn for the worst in her teens which saw her attempt to take her own life. She talks to us about what it was like and how the attitude was at the time in Germany around mental health.

V learnt over the years how to somewhat manage her own emotions and would allow herself to feel into negative emotions for a few days and then pull herself out of it.

She describes the last 4 years as the happiest yet the hardest of her life. Considering she was dealing with a divorce, moving across the world, experiencing a large earthquake and navigating a pandemic, this comes as no surprise.

We talk through the people who were influential in her mental health journey and the things she does now to look after herself. She describes why she has such a love for freediving and how it specifically helps to keep her mental health in check. I feel honoured to have held space for V to tell her story and know that you will get a lot from it.

Apologies for nasal voice in this ep and for the background noise as we were recording in a classroom not a kitchen studion haha.

You can find Veronika at @veronikafreediver on instagram, alternatively hit up @freedivegili and let them know I sent you.

Thank you for taking the time to listen, I am SO glad that you are here with me today!
