斷捨離不只侷限於物品上，還可以是在資訊上❗️我們現代人的通病，網路資訊氾濫，過度接收垃圾資訊與便宜多巴胺，讓現代人沒耐性等問題的出現，也會讓大家的消費變得超出自己所需，堆積一大堆沒有用的垃圾。希望有察覺到危機的人，可以開始做出改變（資訊斷捨離）❗️

他接著提到，現代社會中信息過載的問題以及媒體為了搶奪注意力而忽視真實性的現象。他說：
「過多資訊的長期影響是什麼？其中一個就是只追求搶先發佈，而不在乎是否真實。所以，你們（媒體）有很大的責任——去說真話，而不只是搶第一。」
（“What is the long-term effect of too much information? One of the effects is the need to be first, not even to be true anymore. So, what a responsibility you all have—to tell the truth, not just to be first.”）
