Theo Delaney's guest is the compelling Irvine Welsh one of the most succesful and influential novelists of his generation who shot to fame with the publication of his debut novel Trainspotting in 1993. The era-defining film adaptation followed in 1996 and there have been many more brilliant books, plays and films since. His latest novel 'Resolution' is published imminently. Theo Delaney’s guest is a bona fide legend of sports broadcasting Gary Newbon who has presented thousands of TV shows and worked for many years as an influential executive at ITV and Sky Sports. Renowned as an interviewer, the title of his recent memoir ‘Newbon - Bloody Hell’ is a reference to the famous quote he got from Alex Ferguson in the players tunnel in Barcelona after his Manchester United team had won the Champions League in dramatic style. The book has been nominated in the Sports Book Awards. Gary is a Leicester City fan and among his chosen scoreres are his friends Jimmy Greaves, Geoff Hurst, Trevor Francis and Jamie Vardy.
