Bella Bauer is currently a freshman at Purdue University. She is also Miss Indiana Teen 2024 preparing to compete for the Miss America Teen pageant in Orlando, Florida. Bella is the oldest of seven children and a resident of Granger. She is a graduate from Penn High School. At Purdue University she is studying physical therapy and has made the Purdue Dance Team.
Bella previously visited our show to share her book, âABCs of Epilepsy.â She now has a second book out, âABCs of Epilepsy, Friends and Family Edition.â
Bella says she hopes this new book can help caregivers of those with epilepsy navigate everyday life.
Through her Purple Project, Bella aims to educate and empower individuals with epilepsy and the broader community.

The upcoming Circle City Sound concert offers Indianapolis residents a chance to support veterans through an evening of music and community engagement. The free concert, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on November 11 at Lutheran High School, will feature patriotic music and popular show tunes. David Zimmerman, Director of Circle City Sound, emphasized the groupâs commitment to giving back to the community, noting, âWeâve done this for several years to celebrate our vets in the community, and we hope people come out to support.â
Ashlee Walls-Pierce, VP for Advancement at HVAF, highlighted the organizationâs mission to end veteran homelessness. âOne in 10 homeless individuals in Indianapolis is a veteran,â she stated, describing HVAFâs work to provide housing, employment assistance, mental health support, and a food and hygiene pantry. HVAF serves around 400 veterans monthly, offering essential resources to help them rebuild their lives. The pantry allows veterans the dignity of choosing items they need, including fresh produce, meat, and hygiene products.
Attendees of the concert can support HVAFâs efforts through monetary and in-kind donations. A donation basket will be available for those who wish to contribute. âWhile the concert is free, we appreciate any donations for our veterans,â Walls-Pierce added. HVAF accepts monetary donations, non-perishable food, gently used clothing, and new socks, underwear, and undershirts.

The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra continues its 2024-25 season this fall with an exciting Pops series led by Enrico Lopez-Yañez, the newly appointed principal guest conductor of Pops. Kammyâs Kause, an annual event now in its 20th year, continues to make a significant impact in the community, bringing together people for a cause that supports individuals with rare chromosome disorders. The event was founded by Jared and his daughter Kammy, who has a rare chromosome disorder known as 4P- syndrome, also referred to as Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome.
This yearâs event features a two-day lineup. On Friday night, an acoustic night on Main Street in Fortville will showcase over 20 acoustic musicians performing inside businesses and on sidewalks, in a style reminiscent of Nashvilleâs live music scene. The main event on Saturday includes Kammyâs Ride, a motorcycle ride now in its 15th year, as well as full bands, a Kid Zone, and a silent auction at Landmark Park. All activities are free to attend, with donations encouraged to support the cause.
Kammyâs Kause was created to raise awareness and fund research for 4P- syndrome, providing resources and support to families facing similar diagnoses. Over the past 20 years, the event has grown to become the largest of its kind globally, offering much-needed assistance to families worldwide.
