Dr Becky Howie is a medical doctor with 20 years of experience and has been a GP for the last 15 of these years.

Throughout her career, she has observed a decline in the general physical and mental health of her patients, despite the huge advances in medical science.

About 10 years ago, after observing this trend and seeing illness in her own family, she embarked on a journey to learn more about how our lifestyle impacts our health, well-being, energy and longevity. As a scientist at heart, she was keen to understand the evidence behind it all. She went on to become a board licensed Lifestyle Medicine doctor, and has since incorporated this learning into her day-to-day NHS practice. She introduced group consultations in menopause and made lifestyle discussions an integral part of consultations.

Her passion lies in assisting mid-life patients and clients with their health and wellbeing. Becky has now founded her own business, Maldod Life, to provide clients with an opportunity to improve their health and well-being in a supportive and empowering environment.

Delia lost her enthusiasm for ‘the talking cure’ over 25 years ago while completing her master’s in clinical psychology, and took the road less travelled, where she’s since immersed herself in the fascinating world of how lifestyle – including nutrition - impacts brain development and function. Delia’s medical PhD provided her with further insights into how stress impacts brain health. Delia now supports behavior change and cognitive/stress resiliency within organizations, and for individuals who want to optimize their brain health, via online courses, workshops, and tailored events internationally.

Oral Health and wellness Warrior: A title of my servitude

    Shari Glusi

As an Oral Health and Wellness Warrior, I bring 18 years of dedicated service as a dental hygienist, with a profound understanding of the mouth-body-mind connection. My own health challenges as a young woman led me down a path of frustration with conventional medicine, sparking a quest for alternative healing modalities. This journey has been rich with learning about nutrition, natural remedies, herbal treatments, and essential supplements, all of which have been pivotal in mastering my metabolic health.

Today, I stand not only as a health care provider but as a guide, steering some patients toward holistic wellness from the dental chair. Each individual interested will get tailored nutritional counseling, reflecting my belief that oral health is intrinsically linked to overall vitality. Beyond the clinic, I’ve extended my reach through my social media platform, on instagram @goodhealthwhispers, where I journal the products and insights that have been instrumental in my wellness journey. It’s a space for empowerment, where others can discover the tools to nurture their well-being and embrace a lifestyle of health.

The incredible Dr Julie McElroy. Who is Julie McElroy?

Dr. Julie McElroy is a Scottish female. She is the embodiment of enthusiasm, drive, and motivation. She has overcome numerous obstacles in her life with success. Julie is a woman with so much to offer as she can think of ideas and concepts for whatever project she works on. She has the perseverance, tenacity, and self-leadership needed to succeed. Julie connects the dots between the challenges and roadblocks we encounter in daily life and achieving our objectives. She also shows that no matter what barriers she faces, Julie never lets them win.

I have mild Cerebral Palsy along with profound deafness, so I choose to wear hearing aids. Despite, or you may say ‘in light of’ my disabilities, I have risen above the barriers to study and have accomplished just a few achievements of which I am proud. (a Doctorate, 2 x master’s degree, a bachelor’s degree). My journey into higher education began when I was at an Additional Needs School in Glasgow. I began to question whilst everyone was doubting my ability to succeed, I wondered how far I really could go and could I stand out or above my peers.

So, what does this high achiever do, well, why not train for a marathon, yes, the London Marathon in the form of Frame Running. In doing so, created history in becoming the world’s first female to complete this task this year.

Julie – you are an inspiration, and exceptional woman and a true inspiration.

    Damon

My name is Damon and my passion and focus is Health & Wellbeing. I’m a Certified Coach, a Wim Hof Method Instructor, a Brain Cancer Survivor Turned Thriver and I'm looking to change my corner of the world.

I would love to take you on a journey that shows you how to take more control of your mind, body and soul.

For me, mindset is everything. It helped me turn a brain tumour diagnosis into my super power.

I’ve experienced what’s it’s like to go from zero to hero. This was a powerful transformational moment for me. The thing is, nothing had actually changed, however, everything had changed. What had changed was my mindset, my belief system, how I was perceiving and interpreting the world. I felt empowered, excited, resourceful and like I had choices.

Because of my experience, I want to help other people make that shift and transformation to believing in themselves and believe that absolutely anything is possible.

Are you ready to shift your mindset, heal and grow stronger and find your super power too?

Together we can do this. Together we are stronger.

    Sharon Keaney

Sharon Keaney is the Chief Operating Officer at Willbe; a Biohacking business based in the UK who are redefining the solutions - not just conversation - around perimenopause and menopause.

Like many in the health space Sharon’s path to health and where she is right now is far from a straight one. It began in 2012 following a transformative health journey, during which she lost over 12 stone in just 7 months.

But, the story extends far beyond this.

In our conversation we cover everything from life before keto, work-life balance during her city years (or not!), challenges with weight, back injuries, pain and mental health, relationships, and of course the importance of a self-commitment to health - regardless of your starting point - as well as her recent career change.

Sharon's notable career trajectory spans her early years on the trading floors of several large investment banks in London and scaling a private investment firm to over $10 billion in trading revenue annually before working with therapy and personal development leaders such as Marisa Peer, and training with luminaries like Tony Robbins and Richard Bandler.

Prior to the pandemic, Sharon also established her own health consulting business and in 2018, she launched the UK's first hospital radio show dedicated to mental health in collaboration with Radio Brockley, The Disability Foundation Charity, and The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in NW London.

More recently Sharon is a founding member of Willbe; the biohacking business who see Perimenopause as a woman's biggest health opportunity in 2024.

I am confident that this discussion will resonate with many.

    Chris Freer

I have led a colourful and varied life. My world imploded when I received the news that I had Multiple Sclerosis which is an incurable neurological condition. In the initial stages I was classified as relapsing remitting but quickly progressed. MS and my thinking around it took me to the depths of despair. I reached a low point in my life and made an incomplete attempt to end my life! Soon after that I was informed by my Neurologist, I was now secondary progressive this was despite taking the pharmaceutical drugs that should have slowed the progression. At that point there were no drugs that would halt the progression my neurologist’s prediction was a wheelchair. He was right! I remember looking out over the estuary near where I live thinking if I do not start using my legs, I would lose them for ever, my fight back started. My journey back from the brink has been a long slow road, it has been interesting, and I have learnt a lot about how we can take back control, how we can move forward, how we can become a better version of ourselves.

For many years now, one step at a time I have been taking back control of my mind and body. I know I will never cure MS; however, I will never allow it to dominate my life again! I choose to live my life alongside MS. I hope to open people’s minds to new possibilities and buck the trend of we have no control over our health.

    Éthelle G. Lord, M.Ed., DM

Can be described by many epithets. She’s the founding president of the ICA (International Caregivers Association), a GSHS (Good Shepherd Healing System) practitioner, author, educator, management coach, presenter, mother and grandmother.

Her emphatic personality is easily detected. She is an amazing human being. Despite growing up in different circumstances and social norms than those that we are living in now, she has never let anything stop her from learning, forging her place in the world, and especially helping others.

Éthelle believes that both her upbringing and life experiences are at the foundation of her ability to lead in her field today. She shared a quote that sums up her life’s philosophy: “The best things in life are the people we love, the places we’ve been, and the memories we’ve made along the way.” She believes that anytime we live our life to the best of our abilities and help others then we can say “I have no regrets”.

Living my life to the fullest by helping others along the way leads to living a life without regret. Spending 21 years in the care of my husband living with vascular dementia also leads to living my life without regrets. Life does bring challenges to everyone, small and large. It is not always clear why the challenges are presented. What is clear is that life lessons can only be learnt by living through such challenges.

    Tom Gold

I'm a Life Coach, Bush craft Instructor and personal trainer and I'm a big believer in using the outdoors to restore ourselves. It's the environment we were built and designed to thrive in which is why it all somehow makes sense when we go back there.

Don't believe me? Why is a room with view so important? Why do we go on holiday to places that look nice - like the seaside or the country? Why is it when you google 'success' and hit images more than half the pictures are of people on mountain tops?

I work with businesses, with front line NHS staff, combat veterans dealing with PTSD and people dealing with a variety of mental health challenges.

I have an ICF accredited Diploma in Transformational Life Coaching, an Honours degree in Psychology and I’m a qualified Bush craft Instructor.

On my show nobody gets cold wet and miserable, nobody gets put under pressure to bare their soul and nobody has to take on any physical challenges or tests.

    Fun facts about Tom

I live in Scotland in the Trossachs National Park, sometimes known as the Gateway to the Highlands.

I have two sons. They are the centre of my world.

People often say to me ‘Oh Bushcraft, you mean like Bear Grylls?’ I am nothing like Bear Grylls.

I like action movies and I love true life adventure stories which I find very inspiring.

I worked for a year in a correctional boot camp in Arizona. It was extremely challenging.

I travelled, unsupported from Inverness to Glasgow with a folding kayak to raise money for a school in Gambia. That was quite challenging too.

I am the co-inventor of the little known sport of ‘Wheelie Bin Ball’. An honour I share with members of my Glasgow youth group.
