    Invite yourself to settle,

    Moving and shifting until you find a position

    Where you are comfortable and alert.

    PAUSE…

    Place your hand on your belly,

    And as you breathe in deeply,

    Feel your belly expand like a balloon.

    All the way until you can’t breathe in anymore. 

    And then exhale,

    Feeling the sensation of your belly contracting,

    As all the air is released. 

    PAUSE…

    Now drop your hand,

    And settle into a nice, easy rhythm of breathing. 

    Imagining your inhale gathering everything up,

    And your exhale releasing it all out. 

    Breathe in and gather…

    Breathe out and release. 

    Breathe in,

    Breathe out. 

    Pull your attention away from those thoughts,

    Those emotions,

    Those plans,

    Those worries,

    And be here with your breath.

    LONG PAUSE…

    If thoughts keep arising, 

    That’s okay.

    See if you can simply notice them,

    As they flutter like a butterfly right past you.

    Riding the breeze, 

    And flying away out of sight.

    Separate from you,

    As you stay anchored here in your breath.

    Over and over again, 

    They fly away, 

    Out of sight,

    And out of mind.

    Feel the space in your mind…open. 

    Feel the space in your body…open.

    Here, in this space,

    Lies your stillness. 

    This moment between your breathes,

    This pause between your thoughts.

    See if you can lean into it now,

    Imagining that space opening up,

    Expanding,

    And filling you with peace.

    It’s quiet here.

    Gentle. 

    Filled with a welcoming nothingness that eases you,

  • Hey, it’s Katie and I’m here for a mid-month check in. How are you? How’s your month coming along? How’s your mental health? 

    We’re well into Mental Health Awareness Month and I hope you’ve really been enjoying all the bonus and guest meditations we’ve been providing across the network. The team and I have been working hard to make sure you have a wide variety of meditations and voices to support you! 

    I’m sharing honestly today about why we need to “slow down to speed up” and what that’s actually looked like for me this month (single mommying with hubs out of town, end of school extra activities and moving!). It ain’t been pretty y'all. 

    But I’m sharing because we all have these heavy seasons and I’ll walk you through what worked for me to lighten the load and helped me slow down, all in the name of preserving my mental health. 

    I also share a poem/meditation I wrote recently called “A Million Little Reasons” that I hope really speaks to your heart.

    So imagine yourself coming inside, 

    And gathering up these dreams,

    Holding them lovingly in your arms.

    You can feel your dreams softly vibrate, 

    Their warmth reminding you that you are a being of light,

    The same energy as the sun and the Earth.

    Believe…

    These dreams are yours if you choose them,

    Believe in them,

    And pursue them.

    Imagine yourself embodying one of these dreams.

    See yourself living it,

    Being it.  

    Feeling it.

    Bring your attention to the feeling of living this dream. 

    How does your body feel? 

    How does your mind feel? 

    How does your heart feel?

    Today’s guided meditation will give you a visualization you can use while in savasana position. 
     

    The very first meditation I ever experienced,

    Was at the end of a yoga class,

    As we melted into Savasana…corpse pose. 

    PAUSE…

    It was a magical experience,

    And I hope to give you a bit of that magic during this meditation. 

    So allow yourself to settle, 

    Inviting your body to lie down comfortably. 

    PAUSE…

    Now take a moment to stretch your arms as far above your head as possible,

    And then stretch your legs in the opposite direction,

    Elongating your spine,

    Stretching your body.

    PAUSE…

    Now as you exhale, 

    Release your arms and legs,

    And relax yourself into comfort.

    PAUSE…

    Feel what’s beneath you,

    The floor, 

    Or your bed,

    Or the couch,

    And just become aware of the weight of your body on top of it. 

    PAUSE…

    Now breathe in deeply,

    Expanding your belly as far as you can,

    Holding it for a moment,

    And then exhaling,

    Contracting the belly,

    And letting all that air go. 

    PAUSE…

    Relax even deeper, 

    Melting just a bit more with every breath out. 

    LONG PAUSE…

    Savasana, or corpse pose,

    Gives us a chance to practice stillness.

    To practice the art of being,

    And not doing. 

    To practice clearing our minds, 

    And softening our bodies.

    PAUSE…

    There is nowhere for you to be,

    Nothing for you to do.

    So surrender yourself to the pose, 

    Breathing yourself deeper,

    And deeper into this moment.

    LONG PAUSE…

    Allow your feet to part,

    Your legs to soften, 

    And relax. 

    Open your hips,

    And soften your belly.

    PAUSE…

    Feel a warming energy travel slowly up your spine,

    Beginning at the bottom of your back,

    And rising,

    Rising,

    Breath by breath,

    Melting you,

    One vertebrae at a time.

    All the way up to the top of your neck. 

    Breathe…

    PAUSE…

    Let your heart open,

    Your arms get heavy,

    And your neck and face,

    Soften and relax.

    PAUSE…

    Stillness is here within you,

    Behind the movement of thoughts,

    Past the highways of fear.

    Deep within the center of you.

    Right here. 

    Always.

    Now slowly begin to wiggle your fingers and toes,

    And when you’re ready,

    Bring yourself to a sitting position.

    Bring your hands to your heart,

    And take a moment to honor this body,

    The space,

    Wanting your attention.

    Blue, yellow and red streaks of light,

    Chattering,

    Singing,

    Dancing. 

    PAUSE…

    The noise of the day hovers, 

    Wanting to stay. 

    PAUSE…

    So breathe in deeply,

    And watch as it interrupts the movement,

    And begins to dissolve the thoughts. 

    PAUSE…

    Breathe deeply again, 

    Shifting your focus onto your breath,

    Onto the sweet hums of air coming in,

    And coming out of your lungs. 

    PAUSE…

    Breathe deeply once more, 

    And notice the lightness you feel,

    As little by little,

    The energy of the day dims,

    And dissolves.  

    LONG PAUSE…

    Sink deeper now, 

    Into your welcoming bed. 

    Let it embrace you,

    And carry you into the night.

    Safe,

    Light, 

    And free. 

    PAUSE…

    Release them now, 

    Any plans, 

    Or thoughts,

    Or emotions,

    That remain from the day,

    That want to hold you here,

    And keep you from dreamland. 

    Release them…

    And surrender your body,

    And your mind,

    To the nurturing embrace of the night.

    LONG PAUSE…

    Each grain of the day’s energy,

    That is released,

    That evaporates,

    Lightens you,

    And opens you.

    You’re raw in this moment,

    One with the healing night.

    Let her replenish you,

    And renew you. 

    LONG PAUSE…

    Breathe and relax,

    Deeper and deeper in your bed. 

    Breathe and release,

    All the energy of the day.

  • Hey, it's Katie, and today, I'm here to say hello and give you a little update. 

    It's May 1st today, which means we're stepping into Mental Health Awareness Month.  

    What have you been doing to be kind to your mind lately?  

    On today's solo episode, I'm sharing about some fun, extra meditations we're putting out for you across the network, some for mental health, some for moms, and some to share about other podcasts the team and I love to support our mental health.  

    I'm also sharing the two things that are working really well for my mental health lately!

    And...I'm sharing a poem I wrote in one of those "ugly" moments of life. I hope it resonates and that you are inspired to continue on your perfectly imperfect journey of being you!

    Melt into the sea of blankets tonight,

    And invite your mind to clear.

    The Isness of you is unveiled once the noise has settled,

    And the ego has left.

    PAUSE…

    She’s here,

    Calm and confident,

    Her roots deep in the soil of the universe.

    So breathe in deeply,

    And be one with her,

    The truth of who you are.

    Free from the chains wrapped around you from the world.

    Free from the judgements coming from your mind.

    One with the unique beauty of your isness.

    So breathe deep into your body,

    Following the air into your lungs, 

    Down into your belly,

    And all the way to your toes. 

    And then breathe out,

    All the way out,

    Releasing, 

    Relaxing, 

    And letting go. 

    PAUSE…

    Keep your attention on the air traveling through you,

    In,

    And out.

    Cleansing,

    Releasing.

    Calming you down,

    And letting go of the day.

    LONG PAUSE…

    Becoming one with the isness of you,

    Means you accept yourself completely.  

    Just as you are.

    Right here,

    Right now. 

    PAUSE…

    It means you release any judgements about who you are,

    And who you’ve been.

    Whether they are from others, 

    Or from you. 

    PAUSE…

    It means you love without condition,

    The darkest parts of yourself.

    And lovingly honor your brightness too.

    Embracing the magical mosaic that is you.

    PAUSE…

    So rest deeply now,

    And quiet your thinking mind,

    As everything that isn’t you…dissolves.

    PAUSE…

    The beliefs,

    The judgements,

    And the mountains of shoulds.

    They are grains of sands falling from you,

    One by one,

    Disappearing into the night. 

    LONG PAUSE…

    Imagine yourself here,

    Naked and safe,

    Whole and at peace.

    Free from the burden of needing to be anything you are not.

    Alive and real, 

    Burning bright like the stars.

    LONG PAUSE…

    The isness of you feels calm and clear,

    Expansive and light.

    PAUSE…

    Stay here with her,

    And let everything else float away tonight.

    There are pools of energy,

    Deep within you.

    Nature connects us to something bigger than ourselves. It’s a powerful way to heal the mind, increase creativity, relieve stress, and ease our bodies.

    So this special meditation is a guided visualization to connect you to Mother Earth. 

    Find a comfortable position, 

    And invite yourself to slow down, 

    And relax. 

    PAUSE…

    Close your eyes, 

    And take a deep breath in through your nose, 

    And exhale through your nose. 

    PAUSE…

    See if you can imagine that you’re standing at the edge of a beautiful forest.  

    The sun is shining and the birds are singing. 

    Take a step forward and feel the soft grass beneath your feet. 

    Take another step and feel the Earth beneath you. 

    PAUSE…

    Let yourself walk deeper and deeper into the forest,

    Breathing in the peace, 

    As you feel connected to the creatures and plants. 

    PAUSE…

    Now imagine roots growing out of the soles of your feet, reaching deep into the ground. Feel the energy of the earth flowing up through these roots and into your body. 

    Take a deep breath in and feel the energy of the earth filling you with life. 

    And as you exhale, imagine all of your worries and stresses flowing out of your body, and into the earth.

    As you continue to walk deeper into the forest, you feel more and more connected to this precious Earth and the Universal energy that flows through everything. You can feel it rising through your feet and filling you with love. 

    PAUSE…

    Look around you, 

    And breathe in appreciation for everything you see, hear, and feel. 

    You are one with Mother Earth.

    When we stay focused on the here and now, we are aware and mindful of what is happening at this very moment. 

    Today’s meditation will guide you into the present moment so you can find peace. 

    Take a long slow, deep breath in. 

    Hold it just for a moment. 

    And slowly exhale. 

    PAUSE…

    Allow any tension to melt away as you relax more fully into the present moment. 

    PAUSE…

    This is your time, 

    A time for relaxation and stillness. 

    A time to rest and recharge.

    A time to stay focused on the here and now. 

    PAUSE…

    Take another long deep breath in, 

    Hold it. 

    And exhale. 

    PAUSE…

    Continue to breathe slowly, and gently

    Relax. 

    PAUSE…

    Staying focused on the here and the now, 

    Bring your awareness to the crown of your head

    And begin to imagine relaxation trickling down to your entire body

    PAUSE…

    Allow your forehead to relax

    Your eyes, 

    Your neck, 

    PAUSE…

    Relaxation melting deep into the muscles in your shoulders

    Soothing away any tension and strain

    PAUSE…

    Staying focused on the here, and the now, 

    The peaceful sensation flows through your chest and your belly as you breathe, 

    Notice your chest rising and falling gently into comfort. 

    PAUSE…

    Allow this peaceful feeling to flow through your arms, 

    To the tips of your fingers. 

    PAUSE…

    And as you sink further into rest, your mind relaxes. 

    Your thoughts are like clouds, floating gently in and out. 

    PAUSE…

    Soothing and relaxing, turn your attention to your breath

    And feel it trickle into your spine

    And your lower body. 

    To the backs of your thighs, 

    The fronts of your thighs are feeling lighter and becoming loose and relaxed. 

    PAUSE…

    Soothing feelings flow through your knees, your ankles, your feet, all the way down to your toes.

    PAUSE…

    Your entire body is soft, calm and relaxed,

    As you let go into comfort.

    PAUSE…

    Notice your breathing, as you follow each breath in and out.

    If your thoughts wander, gently bring them back.

    Keeping your attention on the present moment, 

    And staying focused on the here and now.

    Life is unpredictable and full of changes. We will be faced with various challenges which may complicate our daily routine and leave us worried, exhausted, or afraid. But when we allow them to take over and disturb our peace it makes it more difficult to cope with the ever-changing world around us.

    Today’s meditation will help you to accept what can’t be controlled so that you can remain peaceful in the face of challenges. 

    Allow yourself to get into a comfortable position. 

    Close your eyes, 

    As you settle into the present moment. 

    PAUSE…

    Bring your attention to the inside of your body, 

    Feeling your heart beat slowly. 

    LONG PAUSE…

    Feel your breath moving around your body

    And if your mind starts to wander, 

    Bring your attention back to your breath, 

    Back to the beating of your heart. 

    PAUSE…

    When it all feels out of your control,

    When it all feels like too much to grasp. 

    Bring yourself inside, 

    And call yourself to let go. 

    PAUSE…

    Imagine yourself releasing all those things you so desperately want to hold onto. 

    Feel the heaviness dissolve as you do. 

    And then see yourself opening, 

    And floating in a pool of acceptance.
