Bob Falconer is a seasoned and experienced psychotherapist and spiritual healer with incredibly deep wisdom who has worked in many realms throughout his career and has a deep commitment to multidimensional healing. His life path, love of books, education, deep listening, and ability to shed ego and fully honor âwhat worksâ has allowed him to step into really seeing the being sitting across from him in all their authenticity and multiplicity. As a survivor of both sexual & physical abuse, Bob intimately knows this world from the inside-out and focused on work with men who had these same histories for the early decades of his career while using his own recovery as the basis for much of this work. Bob has also been actively involved with psychedelics since 1967 and continues to view them as a powerful pathway to a deep knowing of ourselves and the spaces we inhabit. Approximately 15 years ago Bob discovered Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) and is now focused exclusively on IFS, which he finds to be the most respectful and powerful modality. Bob has taught IFS extensively and internationally and has been on the staff of over 20 official IFS Institute trainings and has led classes and trainings in Pakistan, China, South Korea, Mexico, Poland, Spain, Canada, the UK, for the Fort Belknap Indian reservation and on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation. Bob has published three books relating to IFS: âMany Minds, One Selfâ, co-authored with Richard Schwartz - the founder of IFS, âThe Others Within Usâ, and âWhen Going Through Hell âŠKeep Going.â These books are vast in their exploration of the collective, the personal, and the realms beyond consensual reality and the thread that weaves them together is Bobâs palpable passion to supporting healing. Now at age 76, Bob mostly teaches and leads supervision classes, only occasionally seeing individuals, and his continued dedication to his own, others and planetary well-being continues to burn bright.
In this episode Bob gives detailed accounts of the sexual abuse he suffered as a child, and it may be triggering.

Life can be hard at times and if youâre like me, you may tend to think that you can handle it all on your own. Maybe youâve done such a good job of âmanaging for so longâ having to do something different or talk to someone can feel uncomfortable. The idea of therapy, to me, felt like I had to admit that there was something wrong with me or that Iâd be showing the world that I was broken or didn't have it all together⊠but when my health started to suffer, and I was anxious 24/7⊠I realized my body was trying to tell me something was wrong and I learned that there is no âgood healthâ without mental health. Therapy was the answer for me, it helped me put down all of the heavy things that I was carrying that didnât belong to me. While therapy can provide so much relief, finding a therapist can feel so daunting. BetterHelp, the sponsor of todayâs video, has done so much to make finding a therapist and starting therapy so much easier!
