  • Continuing on from our previous episode with Ricardo, we sit down with two more UNICEF fellows, Norhan and Iman, who co-created the Youth Future Foresights Playbook. Both share some great insights into the challenge of putting such a mammoth project together and how diverse perspectives of youth in North Africa and Sub Saharan Africa are incorporated. This groundbreaking initiative has been created to build youth engagement capacities, to find tangible opportunities for meaningful youth engagement, and to inspire young people. It is also intended for those who work with young people, to not only embrace foresight methods and tools but to make them accessible, thereby fostering a collaborative environment where youth are engaged as equal partners in shaping all our futures.

  • Children and young people have been a driving force for change throughout history. It makes sense therefore that they should also be deeply involved in imagining the future – their future, our future, the future of the planet, and that their absence from foresight and decision making spaces greatly hinders our capacity to anticipate how the world is changing. In this episode we sit down with Fisayo Oyewale. Fisayo is an agriculturist, a Futurist, and a Facilitator working at the intersection of agriculture, technology, youths, and futures. As a foresight practitioner, she uses strategic foresight methodologies to rethink Africa’s futures in data governance, food systems, youth engagement, and artificial intelligence for development. She is a UNICEF Youth Foresight Senior Fellow, a 2021 Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneur, a Young Africa Leadership Initiative RLC Fellow, and one of 100 delegates at the Global Youth Agriculture Summit 2021. Fisayo, along with several other fellows was responsible for putting together the recent UNICEF Youth Foresight Playbook which was launched at the Dubai Future Forum 2023.

  • We live on Earth at a time known as the Holocene. A time when atmospheric conditions have created the most beautiful balance of biodiversity ever known. Right now though, we literally consume our planetary boundaries.

Food is in the middle of it all. It causes a third of all global emissions, chugs away 70% of our annual freshwater, and has simply zero respect for our planet. The system needs rebooting. In this episode we hear from Christian Poppe who at the time of recording was Director Global Public Affairs & Sustainability but is now General Manager APAC for Formo. They are one of Europe’s top early-stage biotech food business that is revolutionising the dairy industry, their promise, animal free dairy without compromise on taste and quality.
