  • One of the biggest regrets I often hear people have after their elopement day is that they didn’t hire a videographer. Imagine being able to relive those moments for years and years. Elizabeth Kurpanek, a Colorado-based elopement videographer and owner of Embr Films and Ruff and Roam understands this sentiment firsthand.

Elizabeth started out as a photographer back in high school but switched over to video in 2015. After Covid hit, her couples began switching to elopements, and that’s when she decided to dive deep into that niche.

Elizabeth not only shares her journey into videography, but she also talks about why she feels every couple should have a videographer on their elopement day, emphasizing the emotional value videos bring that photos can’t provide. She also stresses the importance of collaboration between photographers and videographers. Having clear communication with one another can make the day run as smoothly as possible.

In this episode, we chat about:

  • Think making money from elopements is impossible? My guest today is here to bust that myth. Vanessa Halliday is an elopement photographer based in the white mountains of New Hampshire. She went from studying kinesiology to being a struggling wedding photographer to having a thriving elopement photography business on the East Coast, and she is sharing her story of how she did it.

During the conversation, Vanessa opens up about the challenges she faced in 2023 of being overworked, relying on social media to get bookings, and having crippling anxiety and depression. However, through all of the struggles, she found a turning point.

She invested in a business coach and manifested her goals, which helped her achieve the success she had always hoped for. Vanessa went from making $18K in 2023 to already booking $110K in elopements this year alone! Now, she’s booked with clients she loves, traveling to national parks, and hoping to retire her fiancé within the next 5 years.

She also gives advice to those on the fence about pivoting from weddings to elopements - Take the biggest deep breath of your life and dive in head first. • As an elopement photographer, you’re probably at least somewhat familiar with the Leave No Trace principles. However, you may not fully know the controversies that surround them.

One of the biggest issues I see when it comes to these principles is the “Leave No Trace police.” These are people who publicly shame others online for not perfectly following them. In fact, one of my mastermind students received a one-star review from someone who had never hired him, just because his photo didn’t fully adhere to the principles.

And this bothers me because public shaming can impact someone’s livelihood. It’s important to remember that everyone is learning. Nobody is perfect, and making mistakes is part of the process. Yes, you should follow the principles to the best of your ability but also remember to be kind and considerate to others.

In this episode, we chat about:

Erica started her career in forestry but realized the lack of creativity wasn’t for her. After picking up a camera and photographing landscapes, she found her passion for photography. • Curious about how I get such great results for my students and the members of The Elopement Photographer Mastermind™️? It’s all because of Google ads. I honestly think a lot of educators are proud of the fact that they do all of these things that don’t involve paid ads, but I’m here to tell you that paid ads are freaking amazing!

They don’t require any hustling, or chasing people down, or dancing on reels. You can literally pay $10-$20 a day in Google ads, get to the first page of Google, and book a good $100K worth of elopements.

And while I used to hold this information close to my heart, I decided to offer it more freely because I want more people to learn just how powerful Google Ads are. So, we are unpacking why all things Google ads and why you shouldn’t be afraid of them.

In this episode, we chat about

  • Having an all-or-nothing mindset is a common challenge for so many. It can make you feel like you must achieve perfection all the time otherwise whatever you’re doing is not worth trying. If you are currently struggling with this type of mindset, whether in your life or in your business, it can eventually lead to burnout and missed opportunities.

During this episode, Todd and I share our personal experiences where we have struggled with the all-or-nothing mindset, as well as ways to overcome it. When you’re working on things, it’s essential to look at them as a staircase, taking one step at a time. When you can focus on the smaller, more manageable tasks, it helps make the process a lot less overwhelming and more achievable.

Additionally, focusing on consistency rather than intensity and celebrating the small wins can help build momentum and lead to significant long-term results.

Nobody is perfect at anything immediately. It’s all about continuing to improve and enjoying the journey along the way.

In this episode, we chat about:

  • This episode is specifically for the elopement photographers out there listening. You’ve probably shot elopements in the same location many times, and you know that place like the back of your hand, but what about the locations you’re less familiar with? How can you figure out the best location for your couple?

It’s so much more than just finding the right location. It’s about figuring out the parking, knowing when and where you will get the best lighting, alternative trails if one doesn’t work out, if it’s pet friendly or not, and more.

We are sharing our best tips for how to choose the ideal location for each of your couples, including the detailed research we do, going to the physical location, and the tools we’ve used in the process. We also delve into the importance of really understanding what your couple is looking for so you can align the location with their vision.

In this episode, we chat about:

Why location scouting is important The online tools we use to help in the initial stages of location scouting Taking the time to actually visit the location and why this is so beneficial Giving your couples a questionnaire so you can truly understand their vision How we use technology to know the optimal lighting Things to do the day of the elopement to make it a seamless and enjoyable experience for your couples

Todd is giving you an update on these 2 things, along with what’s in store for STOKED.

The other thing we both want to say is just a huge thank you to all of you for tuning in every single week. We appreciate you taking the time to listen and for the positive feedback. It gives us fuel to keep this podcast going.

  • You might think I’m crazy by saying this, but I believe that money is imaginary. I mean, yes, we can use cash and coins, but most of our money is usually in a bank account that we can transfer from one to the other. It’s literally just pixels on a screen.

Today, we are talking about how this thought process can help you make positive changes in your life. I know that for us, thinking of money in this way helped us buy our dream house that we recently just closed on.

Yes, wealth is real, and debt is real, but we shouldn’t let it dictate our self-worth or happiness. During this episode, we talk about the psychological effect of money, why W-2 jobs won’t help your mindset, and how entrepreneurship can help shift your money mindset to help create more financial abundance.

We also discuss our personal journeys with our mindset, going from being very frugal and having anxiety around our finances, to having an abundance mindset, as well as the importance of asking yourself if your emotions around money are actually serving you.

When it comes to money, you want to have a neutral mindset, focusing on making conscious choices to improve your life regardless of your financial situation.

In this episode, we chat about:

We closed on our dream house! The idea that money is imaginary How money can impact your emotions and self-worth, and why you shouldn’t let it Why W2 jobs will never make you feel good about money Our experiences going from being frugal to having an abundance mindset The importance of keeping your mindset neutral around money

  • Are you ready to leave the 9-5 grind and achieve success on your own terms? I’m so excited because today I’m chatting with Dustin Mushinski, a business and mindset coach who transitioned from having a successful corporate career in tech sales to a seven-figure entrepreneur. During our conversation, Dustin shares the moment she realized just how powerful mindset is and the fact that you can consciously choose your thoughts, whether they are positive or negative.

We also go into the topic of limiting beliefs and the things that hold people back from pursuing their dreams and the importance of taking action, even if you don’t have a plan just yet. Additionally, we talk about failure, and how you can shift from seeing them as bad and look to them as valuable lessons.

In this episode, we chat about:

How Dustin left corporate and became a multi-passionate entrepreneur The transition from tech sales to mindset coach Taking a step, even if you don’t have a plan What holds people back from pursuing bigger and better things The struggle with seeing the value of charging your worth Embracing failures and seeing them as lessons
