  • Dr. Jen is endlessly fascinated by how we can reduce the (mostly negative) mental chatter we tend to experience life through.

She is a dentist and was extremely burnt out and disconnected from herself in her late 20's. 8 years later, she's completely debt-free, which has allowed her to scale back to 12 hours per week as a dentist. She is passionate about financial freedom so that we have TIME freedom.

This time freedom has enabled her to figure out how to improve her baseline mood and have (teachable) strategies to return to it when life throws curveballs. She geeks out on practical nervous system tools (and dispelling misconceptions) as well as something called the Map of Consciousness.

She's a coach for women who are highly successful but feel stuck. She loves to teach practical tools related to burnout, mood, confidence and financial freedom, and she would love to learn more about your needs through a 30 minute discovery call.

This is not a sales call. If working together one-on-one feels right, we can certainly go over that, but the goal is to help the client on the spot!

In this episode we talk about:

  • Sarah Showalter is a certified personal trainer based out of Reading, PA and is also a certified running coach for Strides for Strength. She was in the restaurant industry for 18 years before she found her home in fitness and it's easily been the best 3 years of her life so far. Even though she's only been in the industry a short amount of time, she's dedicated to keeping herself educated because there is always something to learn and someone to learn from. At her time at the gym, Alliance Fitness Center, she's worked with people from all walks of life, from high school athletes to individuals that are 75 years old. Her favorite thing about training (especially newbies) is helping them prove to themselves how strong they really are. As a running coach, her two main things you'll always hear her talk about are running slow to run fast and lift heavy! She believes that both are the golden tickets to helping you have a long, badass career. When she's not running or at the gym, you'll find Sarah on adventures with her boyfriend and dog, Luna (she's obsessed with her dog), or reading a historical fiction novel.

  • Coach Jessica pretended to escape life’s problems as far back as middle school with a walkman and as many miles as she could run. The trend continued through high school and landed her a spot with her college Cross-Country team but it wasn’t until later in life she really looked at herself as a runner. Running has always been the thing that no matter where she was at in life or her training, doing it was the thing that made her feel strong. Running remained as an outlet for mental health through many moves across the United States following her husband through the NFL, the highs and lows of IVF, pregnancy and postpartum. Three beautiful babies and years later she has raced everything from the 5k to the Marathon with eyes set on the Ultra distance as a bucket list goal. She worked with one of the founding coaches at SFS,Coach Erin, in running her first Marathon and it was hook, line, sinker in love with long distance/endurance running. When she isn’t running through town or off on a trail, she is in full time MOM mode with her three humans. She loves yoga, anything outdoors, and jumping at every chance to travel with her husband.

  • Jenna has 15 years of experience in the mental health field. She earned her Bachelors in Psychology from SUNY Binghamton in 2007 and her Masters in Social Work from SUNY Albany in 2009. She is an LCSWR (Licensed Clinician Social Worker, 2011) and PMHC (Perinatal Mental Health Certified, 2022). Whether you are seeking to prepare yourself to become pregnant, are navigating challenges with becoming pregnant, have dealt with pregnancy or early postpartum loss, had a birth experience that did not go as planned, or are finding the adjustment to pregnancy/postpartum life difficult, therapy with a mental health professional can assist in processing these major life experiences and transitions. Non-birthing partners are also impacted by the above experiences and are served in her practice too. Jenna also supports individuals working through trauma in any capacity (acute, childhood, interpersonal, abuse, etc), along with depression and anxiety. She uses approaches that blend education, an understanding of the mind-body relationship, evaluating beliefs and thoughts that might not be supportive, and exploring attachment dynamics in relationships.

Since mental health is not the only aspect of overall health, she believes it is important to look at the whole picture, which also includes nutrition, movement, social, and spiritual health. If needs arise that are beyond how she can support you, she works with you to connect you with providers who can.
