Every week, a different guest joins Mark Oppenheimer to talk about politics on American college campuses. Politics are roiling college campuses across the United States. Whether the topic is the Middle East, affirmative action, Title IX, or something else, students and faculty seem to have controversial opinions—and they aren't being very civil in talking about them. To cut through the noise, and to find out what teachers and students really think, journalist, historian, sometime professor, and college administrator Mark Oppenheimer is joined by teachers, students, and administrators to give their uncensored view from the ground (or the quadrangle, or the fraternity or sorority house, or the dining hall, or the dorm, or the playing field). The Syllabus is produced by the Office of Open Learning at American Jewish University in partnership with Inside Higher Ed.

Come on in, grab a seat at our “digital bar” and join two old friends for relatively well-informed and irreverent musings on religion, news, and society. In each episode, Rabbi Asher Lopatin and John Geiringer, an attorney, will ask provocative questions that congregants maybe only wish they could ask their Rabbi. This is not your typical religion podcast… Imagine sharing a drink with your Rabbi. What would you ask? I bet you too have a few questions you wish you could ask. That’s exactly what A Rabbi and a Lawyer Walk Into a Bar Podcast is about. An honest conversation by two news junkies who keep an open mind, challenge the status quo, and love discussing the comedy, tragedy, absurdity, and reality of the Jewish experience.

Living the life of an Orthodox Jew in the 21st Century often necessitates a very significant income. Unfortunately, many are struggling to keep up.
The Problem Is Bigger Than We Realize
The cost of life for an Orthodox family with children can range from $150,000 to $350,000 or more, depending on city and schools of choice, lifestyle choices and number of children.
The median income in America is $68,000 per family.
This means that a family would potentially need to be in the top 5% of all income earners in the United States simply to get by!
The Solution
Solving this challenge begins with an open dialogue to create awareness and education and allowing for impactful feedback and interaction.
Kosher Money aims to be a pivotal piece in creating this much-needed conversation.

My name is Rabbi Matt Schneeweiss. I am, first and foremost, an Orthodox Jew. I am also a student of the Stoic masters: Epictetus, Seneca, and Marcus Aurelius. This podcast is dedicated to exploring the relationship between Judaism and Stoicism - where they overlap, where they differ, and how they complement each other. I also use this podcast to think out loud about how to apply the principles of Judaism and Stoicism to my own life, with all its ups and downs.
