While The Bad Boys Podcast is on a break, enjoy this special interview with Shane Howard from Goanna.
This week on my show The Long Lunch, I had the privilege of being joined in the studio by Shane Howard of Goanna and his daughter Niamh. A champion of environmental and indigenous issues, Shane was in town to share an intimate acoustic concert. As a prelude, he shared a few songs including the latest single takayna. Although it was being broadcast across the North East of Tasmania, our little chat and songs felt like a mini concert performed just for me, because that is how Shane makes you feel as he draws you in with his stories and his passion for this beautiful land. From the beginnings with Razor’s Edge and Solid Rock to his brand new single takayna, enjoy this special Long Way to the Top with Shane Howard and Niamh.

Described by Louder Sound as Fast Times, Famous Friends and Filthy Rock and Roll, the lead singer Alan Clayton has toked with Bob Marley, performed with Bobby keys and partied with Keith Richards. They are straight forward rock and roll, equal parts Chuck Berry, Otis Reeding and a bottle of Jack Daniels.
The Dirty Strangers have a new album on the way - Hunter’s Moon and a brand new single My Girl’s a Getaway Driver.

While The Bad Boys Podcast is on a break, enjoy this special interview with Brendan B. Brown from Wheatus.
Today’s episode of Long Way to the Top is a little different to my normal shows. Brendan Bernard Brown, commonly known as BBB to fans, is the lead vocalist, guitarist, and the only remaining founding member of Wheatus. He was in Australia ahead of the Pandemonium tour where he will share the stage with Blondie, Deep Purple, Placebo and the legendary Alice Cooper.
Instead of doing the interview myself, I handed over the reins a young guy I work with. You could say he is the original Teenage Dirtbag, Nic Groer. I hope you enjoy today’s episode of Long Way to the top as Nic chats with Wheatus.

Shayne had the pleasure of sitting down with Stewart Copeland two weeks ago, one of five exclusive interviews in the world.

What brought the Police to the end?

While The Bad Boys Podcast is on a break, enjoy this special interview with John Illsley from Dire Straits.
John is one of the founding members of the biggest rock band of the 80’s according to Classic Rock Magazine. Dire Straits has sold up to 120 million records, received Grammys, brit awards and MTV Awards and also helped fashion the MTV generation.
John Illsley, Bass Guitarist for Dire Straits was one of the four brothers and friends, I guess you could call them brothers in arms that decided to form a little band In 1977. They hit the UK rock scene with an album that would go on to launch the career of one of the most influential and important bands in the history of music.
Originally known as Cafe Racers, the band thankfully adopted the name Dire Straits and a tour with Talking Heads and a top 10 single Sultans of Swing started their journey.
Now a successful solo artist, multiple Brit and Grammy awards, John Illsley is now part of a new single called Think Loud a song to bring awareness to Parkinson’s Disease.
I am honoured to have John Illsley on this episode of Long Way to the Top.
