As you sip your coffee this morning, you’ll probably know the result – I’ll stay quiet, in case you’re relying on catch-up….
This was my view of the USA vs Guatemala semifinal yesterday. No matter the result, win or lose, I want to tell you about the incredible Guatemalan colleagues and fans that I’ve met during my time here.
It’s loud, it’s passionate – the atmosphere is electric. Come with me….

Guatemala and the USA march on after I watched two quarter-finals in one day go straight to penalties after 90 minutes. I’m all for it.
Let me tell you about why, about the dream that has become reality for one of Guatemala’s brave boys, and about the goalkeeper who did his homework at Harvard before saving three penalties for his country.
And leave me a comment or two - as I flit back and forth across the States, I could do with the entertainment.

This one was recorded before Canada v Guatemala - no spoilers!
My update on the quarter-finals are coming up later today. But in the meantime, here’s a few things I’ve noticed about the former Leipzig and Leeds man at the helm for Canada.

I’m in Minneapolis today – and I’ve got some breathing space before my next game.
So I want to tell you a story about hard work paying dividends. It’s something I know a lot about from my own career, but it’s a lesson that was reinforced for me during a fascinating interview last night, about a West Ham player’s HEROIC road to recovery.

It’s a balmy 104 degrees here at the Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas - and it’s getting seriously humid.
I was with Pochettino’s men for their training session ahead of a clash with Saudi Arabia… today? Tomorrow?? Who knows! Maybe the heat’s getting to me…
But there are wires to be laid out and pitch lines to be painted, so join me for a quick peek behind the screen.

My first matchday experience here in the United States this summer was a big, colourful, family affair.
Big Phil, the one-of-a-kind cheerleader I met in the stands wasn’t even all that into football - if he’s off his work and any US national team are playing, he told me, he’ll be there. This time he brought his dad, too.
And not to be outdone, my man-of-the-match, Diego Luna of Real Salt Lake (but born here in San Jose) had his family with him to watch him dismantle Dwight Yorke’s boys.
More Gold Cup Diaries coming up. I think it’s going to be an interesting summer….

In all of my videos on Luis Enrique, I told you clearly – he won’t just want to win, but to win in STYLE! Do you believe me now?!
I was there to watch Les Parisiens lift their first Champions League high into the Munich sky, after CRUSHING an Inter Milan that just didn’t seem to know what to do.
Socios: let me tell you, it was a magical night of football. Here’s how I lived PSG’s historic night in Germany….

Hard-faced Manuel Pellegrini LOVES a resurrection shuffle!
He had Juan Román Riquelme playing his BEST football at Villarreal, rescued Isco from Sevilla - and now, he’s got an UNSTOPPABLE Antony swaggering.
But look beyond the magic, and there’s a SERIOUS issue at Betis that Chelsea can exploit to win Wednesday’s final…
They’re exciting, but flawed: here’s why!
