In the summer of 1976, during America's Bicentennial celebrations, 180 Legionnaires contracted an aggressive pneumonia-like illness after a convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After 29 of them die, doctors and scientists are puzzled. The determination of one scientist helps to discover the cause of this deadly disease now known as Legionnaires' disease. This became one of the most famous "medical detective" stories in US history.

On Forensic Files Season 14, Episode 17, "Seeing Red" we learn about the case that is commonly referred to as the "Suitcase Murder". The body of Summer Baldwin is found in September 2005 in a suitcase in a Texas landfill. Using classic detective work combined with digital forensics, the suitcase leads investigators to Rosendo Rodriguez and the forensic evidence against him seals his fate. However, detectives uncover a connection to the unsolved 18 month missing children's case of Joanna Rogers. And after weeks of the most grueling search efforts in the landfill, they find Joanna also in a suitcase.

Auto-Motive is episode 18 of Season 14 of Forensic Files. This episode covers the case of Michelle Harris. On the night of September 11, 2001, in Spencer, New York, Michele Anne Harris left her work, went to see a boyfriend and left shortly after 11 p.m. This was the last time anyone has admitted to seeing her. The next morning, her car was found on her estate that she shared with her children and soon-to-be EX-husband, Cal. The episode aired by Forensic Files is not up to date with the current circumstances surrounding this case so we provide an update at the end of the episode recap.

When nursing student, Tamika Huston goes missing from Spartanburg, South Carolina in May of 2004, her aunt, the investigators and the community as a whole come together to find her. Tamika's case inspired the creation of The Black and Missing Foundation and sparked the first national conversation regarding the racial disparities in media coverage for missing person cases.
