He discusses the hurdles to moving up the single seater formula car ladder, from politics in motorsports to fitness required to drive at the highest leve.Gianmarco is a Canadian who grew up racing go karts, moving to shifter karts, then to the Formula BMW series, the F3 Italian and European championship, and a handful of races in GP2. We discuss finding sponsorship and the experience of driving in some of the most competitive formula car series in the world.

Sitting down with my dad Peter Klutt, we go over a TV Special from nearly 20 years ago: The Muscle Car Shootout. Testing the world's best all-around classic Muscle Cars, this 1 hour special was such a hit back in the day Speed Channel requested 2 additional specials.
There were 7 cars part of the competition running a series of tests: A 1969 AMX 390 Go Package, a 1970 Buick GS 455 Stage 1, a 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 LS6, a 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1969 Hurst Oldsmobile, and a 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge.

Danny Formal is the guest this week, he is one of the few professional go-kart racers, leading to him getting a professional drive in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series and eventually competing for Wayne Taylor/Andretti in the IMSA Weathertech series. Gary and Danny go through his career from being born in Costa-Rica, moving to Florida competing in the Florida Winter Tour, and SKUSA Super Nats, becoming a champion in both and the winningest Super Nats driver. His outstanding performances lead him to becoming one of the few professional karting racers in the world.

Mac Clark is the youngest F1600 Champion, a USF 2000 Junior champion who has his sights set on being Canada's next Indy car Series driver. Since his start in karting Mac has been on a trajectory of winning championships and working through the road to Indy. He has won a ton of races including the SKUSA Florida winter tour karting race. In this episode we chat about the difficulties of finding large amounts of money in order to fund a racing career and the methods Mac is using to find sponsorship and funding. We talk about Sim Racing and his set up in his dorm room at college. Mac got his start in karting with the guidance of his father Stu Clark who has represented Canada at the Rotax world finals a handful of times in karting.

Mat Williamson is one of the winningest dirt modified racers. This past season he brought home an enormous amount of winnings from his dirt modified season. He currently holds the record for largest purse won in a dirt modified race at $100,000. We discuss how he became a professional racing driver and what life is like on the road. He ran 75 races this season winning 31 of them. Mat is 33 years old born in St. Catherines Ontario, he races for four separate teams. Ben Young is a 3x Canadian Superbike Champion, he joins Gary in the studio to discuss racing in the British superbike championshp while living in Scotland before moving to collingwood. Ben then went on to race in the states racing 600 AMA Moto America, with some success. Ben then came back to the Canadian Superbike Championship CSBK going on to win 3 championships. Ben is a Factory rider for BMW motorcycles riding the BMW M1000 RR . He has won races all over Canada from Canadian Tire motorsports park (Mosport) to Shannonville and Calabogie.

Marty Schaffer is the Owner of CAPOW Guiding, and Blanket Glacier lodge based out of Revelstoke British Columbia. Marty is a professional backcountry ski guide who was raised in the backcountry of British Columbia. Marty spent his winters guiding guests at Blanket Glacier lodge in the 90s on a split board, he then became a full guide and worked at Revelstoke Mountain Resort and CMHC Heli ski. He is a super enthusiastic entrepreneur who offers unique backcountry courses and training. We talk about the progression of ski touring, some of his biggest avalanche rescues and his unique path to becoming a professional skier who skies more than anyone on the planet. Marty talks about working closely with comedian and skier Katie Burell to come up with some comical names for the courses that Capow guiding offers.

Gary and Peter take a look back at thier trip to the 100th anniversary of the LeMans Classic event in 2023. The Legendary Motorcar team took the 1964 prototype GT40 to the historic event. John Fletcher Jr. has made a living through one way or another through racing his entire life. John was born into racing as his Dad worked as Junior Hanley's full time employee. John grew up going to ASA late model races helping out guys like Gary Balough, Randy Macdonald and Junior Hanley. John raced vintage modifieds, Super late models, OSCAAR super late model outlaws, the CASCAR series, the Canadian Tire Nascar Series and go karts. John has won many super late model championships, and the Don Biedermann memorial three times.
