  • Our guest this week is Stephanie Arends.

Stephanie is the miCHILIgan group hang events coordinator and will soon be taking over from "Karla with a K." She is working on a YouTube channel focusing on camping and traveling for "non-traditional" campers. Meaning, tips and tricks for camping and traveling if you are disabled, overweight, solo, or advancing age. As of now she only has 1 full video and a couple of shorts, but she has other videos in the works around this topic coming soon.

As someone who is overweight and disabled, she quit camping for a long time. But when she found hammock camping, she found that it was her way to be able to get back outside and enjoy the outdoors!

So, in this episode we will be talking a lot on those topics, plus Stephanie has an interesting story about how her and her husband had to ride out a hailstorm and tornado in a cave while they were out on a camping trip.

  • Join Skunkape, Pheonix, and The Lord of Lollygag himself, Shug, as they recap their travel over to Denmark for the Danish Outdoor Festival and the first ever, HangCon Europe.

With the event hitting record numbers, 26,000 people coming to the event and over 300 hammocks hanging in the woods for the weekend, there were a lot of people for us all to talk to and hang out with.

We all had such a great time getting to meet all the new people and to learn about how they do hammock camping over there.

From the new family that we made to the food and sights of Denmark, we all had a great time and can't wait until next April when we head back over for the 2nd annual HangCon Europe in 2025.

  • We are back this week with our good friends, Cal and Kristen, from YOBO Gear.

If you are new to the hammocking world, YOBO Gear is a cottage company that makes some of the best hammock stands on the market that include the Cricket Stand, Freedom Stand, the Hive, and now, coming soon, the Turtle Bug line of stands.

If you were one of the many that were at HangCon 2024 last month, you would have been able to see and try out each of the 4 versions of the Turtle Bug stands. There is the Mini, the Chair, the Lounger, and the Camper.

Kristen and Cal talk all about the different stand and tell us about all of the details of each one, including the weights, weight capacity, packability, and the price of each one, both the Kickstarter price and the retail price after the Kickstarter ends.

By the way, that Kickstarter will go live on February 22nd, 2024 at 8am MNT, 10am EST. So make sure that you follow the link below and click on the Notify me on launch button so that you don't miss out on the great Kickstarter prices that they will have.

On Monday, February the 26th, at 5pm MST, 7PM EST in the YOBO Neighborhood Facebook group, Kristen and Cal will be doing a live stream talking more about the Turtle Bug stands and answering questions that you may have for them. So don't miss out on that either.

Some more exciting news is that if you use the discount code, hammockhangers15 , not only can you get a 15% discount on the Cricket Stand and the Freedom 2 Sides Stand, but you can get that same discount for the Hive Stand as well. So head on over to their website and pick up one of those awesome stands too.
