Today, I am blessed to have Dr. Thomas Seyfried here with me. Thomas N. Seyfried received his Ph.D. in Genetics and Biochemistry from the University of Illinois, Urbana, in 1976. He did his undergraduate work at the University of New England, where he recently received the distinguished Alumni Achievement Award. He also holds a Master’s degree in Genetics from Illinois State University. Thomas Seyfried served with distinction in the United States Army’s First Cavalry Division during the Vietnam War and received numerous medals and commendations. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Neurology at the Yale University School of Medicine and then served on the faculty as an Assistant Professor in Neurology.
Dr. Seyfried argues that cancer is a metabolic disease, not a genetic one, and suggests that lifestyle factors play a role in its development. He highlights that if you wanted to get cancer, you would adopt a sedentary lifestyle, consume highly processed foods with long shelf lives, avoid fresh food, experience high levels of emotional stress, and deprive yourself of sleep. He notes that many people engage in these behaviors unknowingly, leading to increased rates of cancer, diabetes, obesity, and other chronic diseases. Seyfried's point is that to prevent cancer, individuals should focus on maintaining metabolic health through exercise, proper diet, stress management, and quality sleep.
Dr. Seyfried highlights that the current medical understanding of cancer is rooted in the idea that it is a genetic disease, a concept taught in medical schools and upheld by oncologists. These professionals are trained to use traditional treatments like chemotherapy and radiation, focusing on managing toxicity rather than addressing the root cause. Seyfried argues that cancer is a metabolic disease driven by glucose and glutamine, but this crucial information is missing from training. He emphasizes the need for metabolic therapy, which targets the fuels cancer cells depend on while keeping healthy cells thriving, notably through ketosis. He expresses frustration at the medical community's resistance to acknowledging this approach despite mounting evidence that metabolic interventions could starve cancer cells and slow tumor growth.
Tune in as Dr. Seyfried explains that while animals are hardwired to eat for survival, humans, with conscious awareness, can override this instinct, which can lead to disorders like anorexia. He highlights that modern diets, full of processed carbohydrates and fats, are far removed from what our ancestors ate, causing health issues like obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cancer. Additionally, he critiques the financial burden of cancer treatments, calling the system immoral, especially for the economically disadvantaged.

In this episode, Dr. Nathan Bryan dives into various aspects of nutrition, health, and physiological processes. He emphasizes the importance of understanding food as fuel and tailoring diets to individual metabolic demands, highlighting the risks of excess carbohydrate consumption for sedentary individuals. Dr. Bryan then discusses the significance of recognizing symptoms as warning signs and reducing sugar intake for better health, advocating for personalized dietary approaches.
He challenges the historical demonization of fats in nutrition and critiques cholesterol-lowering approaches, stressing the essential role of fats in cellular function. Plus, we explore the landscape of intermittent fasting, addressing resistance to new data and the influence of pharmaceutical interests in medicine. Tune in as we chat about the crucial role of nitric oxide as a signaling molecule in various cellular processes, underscoring its importance for cardiovascular health and overall well-being.
Dr. Nathan Bryan will be telling us all about how nitric oxide is the root of it all. He’ll go into the how and why nitric oxide is the holy grail of anti-aging medicine and longevity; that is, so long as you're able to produce enough of it. Dr. Bryan will go on to explain that, “Everything we've learned over the past 30 years about the onset and progression of chronic disease all relate to the loss of nitric oxide production. It's the earliest event in the onset and progression of disease.”

It’s estimated that 93% of Americans are metabolically unhealthy. These individuals have what’s called insulin resistance.
A better description is hyperinsulinemia.
When you have chronically high levels of insulin, you are going to store fat and build disease.
I’m going to share with you a 5 step protocol to reverse insulin resistance once and for all!
Your first step is to replace insulin producing foods with foods that lower insulin.
This leads us to looking at macronutrients.
We have 3 macros, carbohydrates, protein, and fat.
As you see on the chart, carbohydrates will produce the MOST insulin inside your body.
The second method to reverse insulin resistance is eliminate snacking and practice time restricted feeding…
The third way to reverse insulin resistance is with block fasting.
The fourth way to reverse insulin resistance is to build lean muscle.
The fifth way to reverse insulin resistance is to reduce your toxic load.

Today, I am blessed to have Pavel Stuchlik here with me. NOA|AON, also known as Pavel Stuchlik, with over 15 years of experience traveling the world and immersing himself in some of the most rigorous teachings, NOA has become an expert in transformation, self-realization and harmonious living.
Pavel emphasizes the profound impact of breath on life and awareness, viewing it as a gateway to controlling the conscious mind, reducing stress, and enhancing heart rate variability. He introduces the concept of "instant presence," a three-part practice combining breathwork, body awareness, and stillness, which helps anchor individuals in the present moment. By practicing techniques like six-second inhales and exhales, combined with a focus on bodily sensations, Pavel encourages a deeper connection between mind and body. He explains how breathwork can alter states of consciousness, calm the nervous system, and foster self-awareness. Pavel highlights the importance of learning from every situation in life, urging individuals to remain conscious of their choices and use breath as a powerful tool for self-regulation.
Pavel emphasizes that the most valuable biohacks are often the simplest and free—such as light, air, and grounding—and that the key to true transformation is to "unhack" everything we've been conditioned to believe. We can unlock our natural psychic senses or spiritual gifts by reconnecting with our inner guidance. He advocates for questioning everything and using breathwork to tap into a deeper consciousness. Pavel believes in a holistic approach that balances physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health, integrating these practices into his "System Reset" methodology, which merges biohacking with shamanic and spiritual wisdom. His teachings encourage a shift from rigid discipline to a more playful and intuitive approach to life, underpinned by listening to the inner whispers that guide us on our highest path.
Listening to the end of the episode with Pavel is essential because it offers a powerful reflection on how breathwork, meditation, and intentional breaks from daily life can transform not just your inner state but your entire outlook on life. Pavel shares deep insights into surrendering to the present, reconnecting with purpose, and fostering a lifestyle prioritizing balance, creativity, and genuine connection. His personal experiences, like spending time in darkness and engaging in deep self-reflection, inspire a shift from burnout to living authentically in alignment with your highest self.

People treat symptoms like a game of Whac-A-Mole, trying to quickly “whack” away symptoms with medications, fad diets, surgeries, or other short-term fixes. These methods only address surface-level issues, leaving the root cause unchecked, which leads to recurring problems.
Many of these recurring issues stem from chronic glucose and insulin spikes in the body.
By addressing these spikes and becoming metabolically flexible, you can escape the Whac-A-Mole cycle of symptom-chasing and truly improve health.

I talk a lot about keto and intermittent fasting for fat loss, but in reality when I went from being physically obese at 250 pounds and 34 percent body fat to 170 pounds and 6 percent body fat, my secret was physical activity in the form of walking…

Walking can be one of the best tools in your shed for serious fat loss.
In this lesson, I’ll be sharing with you how walking helps you lose stubborn fat, other surprising benefits of walking, and what the studies say in regards to how many steps you should take each day.
Additionally, I’ll be sharing with you some creative ways to use walking for faster results.
Let’s start with how lack of steps leads to the accumulation of fat, especially belly fat…
First, we need to understand that we have an obesity problem here in the United States. Harvard is predicating by the year 2030, that 50 percent of the population will be obese!
When we look at the average steps people get, we see it is very low at less than 3,000 steps each day.
It’s not just the weight loss, it’s your overall health and longevity.
The first step here in your protocol is to walk at the right times
The second step here in your protocol is to create walking adaptations.
The third step is to increase the intensity of your walking.

Today, I am blessed to have Kristin Johnson & Maria Claps here with me. Their personal and clinical experiences have taught them that midlife is a pivotal time in a woman’s life, often accompanied by unique challenges. They recognized a gap in specialized care for women over 40 and have made it their mission to fill it. While there's an abundance of health advice for women in their teens, 20s, and 30s, the messaging becomes unclear as women enter their 40s. Kristin and Maria believe that generalized health information isn’t sufficient—and in some cases, can even be harmful—for midlife women. Their goal is to empower women over 40 to take control of their health, ensuring that the next chapter of their lives is their best yet.Kristin and Maria emphasize that menopause is far more than just the loss of fertility and menstruation. They argue that menopause signifies a deeper metabolic change in the body that affects over 4,000 physiological processes, not just the commonly known symptoms like hot flashes and mood swings. Even women without symptoms are impacted by hormonal shifts and need to address them proactively. Their work offers a comprehensive deep dive into hormone replacement therapy (HRT), debunking myths and urging women to take control of their health during this life stage. They advocate for personalized, multi-faceted health approaches rather than one-size-fits-all solutions, emphasizing the importance of understanding hormonal changes.Kristin and Maria emphasize that many women are harming their bodies through excessive cardio, under-eating, and stress, perpetuating a cycle of catabolic damage. They highlight the importance of nourishment, stress management, sleep, and strength training for maintaining health, particularly as hormone levels decline with age. While optimizing hormones can help, it’s not a standalone solution; addressing the underlying stress is crucial for hormonal balance. They also discuss the need for a tailored approach to hormone therapy to not only alleviate symptoms but also reduce chronic disease risks, challenging the limited, symptom-focused perspective of mainstream menopause treatment.Tune in as Maria and Kristin emphasize that progesterone plays a significant role in women’s health; its effectiveness is tied to the presence of progesterone receptors, which fluctuate throughout the ovarian cycle and are mainly influenced by estradiol levels. They caution against relying solely on progesterone hormone replacement therapy, especially in perimenopausal women, where estrogen decline reduces the number of receptors, leading to symptoms like anxiety and mood dysregulation. They advocate for a more holistic approach, managing stress, balancing hormones, and incorporating oxytocin to ensure well-being and metabolic freedom.Resources from this episode: Website: https://wiseandwell.me/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wise_and_well_/The Great Menopause Myth: https://www.amazon.com/Great-Menopause-Myth-Mastering-Uncomfortable/dp/0760388261/benazadi-20🔎 Find all of the Metabolic Freedom Sponsorship deals and coupon codes here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MGMtuWpaOnDU_SQbowd29DLBgp76i3GQrvDeEg2Y0co/edit?usp=sharing

Today, I am blessed to have JJ Virgin here with me. As a triple-board certified nutrition expert and Fitness Hall of Famer, JJ is a passionate advocate of nutrition’s healing power and is mission-driven to ignite a movement of women choosing to age powerfully. After decades of watching women strive to shrink themselves, JJ is urging women to step into their power—physically and personally. Using her principles of powerful aging, she inspires women to get strong, bold, and get what they want in life.
In this episode, JJ emphasizes that many people focus on minor details, like specific diets or exercises, instead of prioritizing the big rocks—the major actions that make the biggest impact. First and foremost, she advises prioritizing protein at meals, especially eating it first. Protein is metabolically expensive to digest, helps manage hunger, reduces cravings, and is crucial for building muscle.
A comprehensive approach combining resistance training, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), and consistent movement is essential to optimize body fat loss and overall fitness. Full-body workouts outperform split routines for body composition, while HIIT is particularly effective at reducing visceral fat. A foundational practice is tracking daily steps, aiming for at least 8,000 steps, gradually progressing to higher intensity by adding resistance, like a rucking vest.

I’m going to share with you a 30 day protocol to lose up to 20 pounds of stubborn fat within 30 days…
No, you don’t have to suffer.
No, you don’t have to even count calories.
No, you don’t have to rely on willpower.
In fact, this will be easy!
After I personally went from being obese at 250 pounds with 34 percent body fat to 170 pounds and 6 percent body fat, I cracked the fat loss code.
The cool thing about having the combination to a code is that it unlocks no matter what!!
I tested this out with over 5,000 of my students with great success.

Today, I’m fortunate to have Dr. John Lieurance, a great friend of the show, joining us again; he’s been a frequent guest, sharing his expertise over the years. John Lieurance, ND, DC, RMA, BS, DABCN (Board Eligible), is a chiropractic neurologist and naturopath who has been in private practice for 25 years. He works at Advanced Rejuvenation, a multidisciplinary clinic focused on alternative and regenerative medicine, naturopathic medicine, chiropractic functional neurology, Functional Cranial Release (FCR), Lumomed, Lyme disease, mold illness, and various other neurological conditions. He also travels internationally, teaching other doctors.
In this episode, Dr. Lieurance emphasizes the benefits of melatonin, particularly its influential role in stress resilience and anti-aging. Beyond its well-known effects on sleep, melatonin is produced in every body cell, acting as a protective mechanism against oxidative stress. As we age, melatonin levels drastically decline, which impairs our ability to repair at a cellular level. Dr. Lieurance highlights that supplementing with melatonin can extend our capacity to handle stress, promote deep relaxation, and support healthy aging.
Also, we explore the fascinating properties of methylene blue, a vivid blue salt with a unique affinity for the mitochondria. This compound enhances the body's ability to absorb and utilize red and near-infrared light, which is crucial for cellular energy production. Methylene blue supports the mitochondria, improving their function by approximately 30% and acting as a neuroprotective agent. Dr. Lieurance emphasizes how the body can harness energy from photons, not just food, by absorbing light into the mitochondria.
Tune in until the end of this show with Dr. Lieurance as he dives into how supporting your circadian rhythm, especially through sun exposure, can profoundly impact melatonin production. He shares insights on the power of sungazing, nitric oxide's critical role, and even melatonin's surprising benefits in detoxifying the brain. Plus, Dr. Lieurance speaks about his journey in developing advanced cranial treatments and stem cell therapies that span decades, incorporating innovative techniques from around the world, including regenerative medicine with adipose-derived stem cells that offer groundbreaking potential for conditions like tinnitus, hearing loss, and orthopedic injuries.

Today, I am blessed to have Sally K. Norton here with me. Her book, “Toxic Superfoods: How Oxalate Overload is Making You Sick-and How to Get Better” is available everywhere books are sold. Her latest book, the Data Companion to Toxic Superfoods, was just released in May 2024 and is available at https://sallyknorton.com/toxic_superfoods/data_companion. For more information, visit SallyKNorton.com or follow Sally on YouTube and social media. She’s @sknorton and @toxicsuperfoods_oxalate_book (on Instagram), @BeFreeToThrive (on Facebook), and @BetterLowOx (on X).
In this episode, Sally emphasizes that several foods commonly considered healthy, such as nuts, dark leafy greens, sweet potatoes, quinoa, and even bran, may actually be harmful due to their high oxalate content. Oxalates, particularly oxalic acid found in plants, can disrupt cellular function by causing oxidative stress, inflammation, and damage to tissues. The accumulation of calcium oxalate can interfere with metabolism, vascular health, and electrolyte balance, leading to various health issues like digestive problems, joint pain, urinary tract infections, and kidney stones. Sally also explains that our modern, non-seasonal diet exacerbates this issue, as we consume these foods year-round without giving our bodies time to recover.
Sally says that tea significantly contributes to oxalate intake due to its fully soluble oxalic acid content, making it both quickly absorbed and harmful. However, Sally mentions that in moderation, tea can be used medicinally to help the body manage oxalate release from tissues. She advises that dietary changes should be gradual, allowing the body time to adjust to avoid overwhelming it. She emphasizes that dealing with oxalate accumulation is a long-term process influenced by individual nutrition and lifestyle factors.
Sally advises that low oxalate carbs, such as white rice, are generally well-tolerated, especially for those with gut inflammation. She notes that white rice has resistant starch, which may be problematic for those with severe digestive issues. Cutting out fiber can also reduce pain and inflammation, making a carnivore diet appealing to some. Sally also highlights that juicing fruits, especially those high in oxalates like raspberries and pomegranates, can significantly reduce their oxalate content. She recommends eating nutrient-dense animal foods, taking breaks from constant grazing, and returning to traditional meal times for metabolic freedom.

Protein is arguably the MOST important macronutrient for fat loss and longevity.
Approximately 40% of American adults are not meeting their protein needs.
There are early warning signs that begin to appear when you’re not eating enough protein, in this video I’ll be sharing all 9 of them.
I will also address the most common questions about getting enough protein, and of course the solution to making sure you get enough of this important macronutrient.
The first warning sign is cravings for junk food.
The protein leverage hypothesis states that human beings will prioritize the consumption of protein in food over other dietary components, and will eat until protein needs have been met, regardless of energy content,[1] thus leading to over-consumption of foodstuffs when their protein content is low. This hypothesis has been put forward as a potential explanation of the obesity epidemic. Empirical tests have provided some evidence to confirm the hypothesis with one study suggesting that this could be a link between ultra-processed foods and the prevalence of obesity in the developed world. In 1995, Australian researcher Susanna Holt developed the concept of satiety value, a measure of how much a given food is likely to satisfy the hunger of someone. High protein foods have been found to have high satiety values, more so than carbohydrates.
When you eat enough protein you activate hormones and chemicals that signal to your brain and body… you’re full! This prevents you from overeating junk food, and snacking in between meals. Helping you of course lose weight.
These hormones that get activated with protein are Cholecystokinin, leptin, peptide yy.
Here’s how this works. Analogy of eating steak and then the dessert tray rolls by.
There are more reasons why lack of protein leads to junk food binges…

Today, I’m blessed to welcome back Dr. Ken Berry, who has joined us on the show before to share his invaluable insights. He is a family physician, speaker, and author based in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S. Dr. Berry received a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, in Animal Biology and Psychology, from Middle Tennessee State University, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, in 1996. He received his MD from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2000.
In this episode, Dr. Ken Berry advocates for the carnivore diet as one of the best dietary approaches for longevity due to its very low carbohydrate content, ability to reduce inflammation, and effectiveness in triggering satiety hormones. He argues that meat from domesticated animals is among the least inflammatory foods available, unlike plants, which have evolved chemical defense mechanisms that can cause inflammation in humans.
Dr. Ken Berry says the carnivore diet is a powerful tool for those with autoimmune diseases, explaining that such conditions arise from a confused and misdirected immune system, not an "overactive" one. He criticizes conventional medical approaches that focus on suppressing the immune system rather than addressing the root causes of inflammation, often found in dietary choices.
Many doctors fail to check A1C and fasting insulin levels, which can lead to missed early diagnoses of type 2 diabetes, resulting in years of preventable damage to the body. The problem stems from the reliance on fasting blood glucose tests alone, which can appear normal even in patients with dangerously high A1C levels.
