In this episode, I am joined by Trish McLellan, Director (Research & Engagement) at LawCare to discuss well-being in the law and why junior lawyers are leaving the profession.
Trish McLellan is LawCare’s Director of Engagement and Education. Admitted as a solicitor of England and Wales in 1989, she was a Family law practitioner in the north-east of England prior to joining LawCare in January 2005. Trish has a breadth of experience of the support LawCare provides and was the staff lead on the Life in the Law research study and she regularly speaks about mental health at legal events.
LawCare is the mental well-being charity for the legal profession offering free, confidential, emotional support, peer support, and resources to those workingin the law in the UK, Channel Islands, and Isle of Man. LawCare promotes mental health and well-being best practice in legal workplaces and drives culture change in education, training, and practice. Their support service offers a safe place to talk without judgement to trained staff and volunteers who have first-hand experience of working in the law.
