Today we talk about sharing. Forcing kids to share teaches kids to ignore their boundaries, that they are entitled to other peoples things, and they don't need to care for their or other people's things. To teach consideration for others and cooperation in our children we do so by example. We respect their no's and give them a script to manage conflict. E-mail me at [email protected]

Today I review Maria Montessori's book, From Childhood to Adolescence: Including "Erdkinder" and The Functions of the University. This book really captures the essence of her educational method as it applies to the whole child/adult across his life. This is a book about the ages past the famous Montessori ages of 3-6 while some may think of Montessori as synonymous with Preschool, the method was for the whole life of the child. It discusses the developmental needs of the 7-12, 12-18, and 18-21 year olds and outlines her ideas for how to educate them. To read the book follow this link: https://www.academia.edu/42786042/From_Childhood_to_Adolescent_Maria_Montessori or to purchase your own copy follow this one (I receive no money for this promotion): https://www.amazon.com/Childhood-Adolescence-Clio-Montessori/dp/1851091858 To read the great lessons (this is elementary material) visit this page: http://missbarbara.net/greatlessons.html

How we think about our children matters. Very often our society's mindset is unhelpful. This episode helps you think about that mindset and think in more constructive ways to become a less stressed parent.
