  • The energetics of creative work and Raquel's multifaceted journey throughout the entertainment industry, how to stay true to your own unique path and not being afraid to do things differently, creating and pursuing our dreams from a place of abundance and flexibility rather than lack and restriction, we talk about our experiences as women dealing with hormonal imbalances and how much that can affect your life, coping with moments of self doubt, and so, so much more.

Raquel Castro is an actress, singer/songwriter and esthetician from New York, living in Los Angeles. Her path in the entertainment world was nurtured and encouraged from an early age. By age 4 she was regularly appearing on "Sesame Street" and "Nick Jr." At age 7 she had her breakout role playing Gertie Trinkie in the feature film "Jersey Girl" alongside Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. Her first professional platform into the music industry was at age 16 as a finalist on Christina Aguilera's team on Season 1 of "The Voice," she had a full-circle moment when she recently returned to NBC on Season 2 of "Songland" and had the incredible opportunity to pitch a song she wrote in front of Grammy-winning producers Ryan Tedder, Shane McAnally, and Ester Dean, as well as R&B artist "H.E.R." Raquel worked one-on-one with Ryan Tedder, and her song "Wrong Places" was chosen and released by "H.E.R."

Raquel is also 1/3 of a new R&B neo-soul girl band called “eddy.”

  • What happens when you combine tarot and poetry? What is an accidental altar? How can animacy inspire and nurture our creativity? These are a few of the topics covered in today's conversation with Kim Rashidi. We delve further into myth and storytelling, navigating how to deal with self doubt and so much more.

Kim Rashidi is a Toronto-based writer with a soft spot for capturing the magic of the mundane. Writing about the lives, cities, and timelines that mirror back the romantic, she weaves reality with imagined possibilities. She holds an MA in English Literature and is the author of two books creatively inspired by tarot cards: Fortunate: Tarot Poetry and Only Alive on Sundays: A Novella. Her up-coming poetry book to be released in Fall 2024 is a katabasis—a deep dive into the underworld via the lens of girlhood. Kim has recently started a literary magazine, The Weaver, dedicated to reviving patronage of the arts. Each monthly issue is governed by an esoteric or mystical theme and she invites writers and artists to explore conceptual worlds in expansive ways.

  • How do we as creatives stay anchored in the reasons why we started creating in the first place? And how can we reclaim a sense of magic in our day to day life through story, ancient wisdom and working with our hands? These are some of the questions that we dive into in today's conversation with author Genevieve Gornichec, as well as her journey to becoming a published author, the Norse Mythology and Folklore that inspired both of her books, and so much more.

Genevieve Gornichec earned her degree in history from The Ohio State University, where her study of the Norse myths and Icelandic sagas became her writing inspiration. Her debut novel, The Witch's Heart, was released in 2021 and has been translated into over a dozen languages. Her sophomore novel, The Weaver and the Witch Queen, was released in 2023. She lives in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.

  • Inspiration and creative downloads can come in the most unlikely forms and creativity goes where you go: it has no borders, physical or imagined. In this conversation we talk about lucid dreaming, astral projection, Naji's move from the US to South Korea, cultivating more artistically divergent spaces that stand apart from the norm and so much more.

Naji, a 29 year-old music artist, began his musical journey as a drummer before a transformative moment in 2015 redirected his path. Inspired by a vivid dream featuring a potato, he embraced a new direction as a solo vocalist and producer. His debut single, "Baked Potatoes," unexpectedly received high praise, marking the onset of a more contemplative and mature phase in his songwriting and singing career.

In 2016, Naji collaborated with producer Glasstempo on the emotionally evocative single, "Fallen." This release caught the attention of major platforms and labels such as Majestic Casual, Soulection, Lyrical Lemonade, and Pigeons and Planes. This recognition firmly positioned Naji as a prominent figure in the realm of Indie R&B.

Boasting a portfolio of over 200 collaborative projects, including the renowned track "Mona Lisa" produced alongside Grammy-nominated artist monte booker, Naji's impact expanded further with the launch of his debut album, "Misfit." Notably, he introduced a live-drum sample pack titled "Mr. Drummer Boy," acclaimed and utilized by industry luminaries such as Giveon, Labrinth, JID, Kenny Beats, D-Mile, DEAN, and more.

  • How can Psychedelics help us make sense of the world? This is one of the central questions Alexander Beiner covers in his brilliant book "The Bigger Picture." In this conversation, we dive deep into an exploration of psychedelics from a place of respect and reverence, covering the importance of preparation, integration and shadow work, Alexander's experience with a DMT continuous infusion clinical trial, the concept of spiritual bypassing, how psychedelics can increase our creativity, reclaiming animism and so much more.

Alexander Beiner is an author, journalist and facilitator focused on bringing new ways of seeing and being from the margins of culture into the mainstream. He does this through writing, and by creating transformative experiences that invite us to find ways to evolve and thrive in the chaotic times we live in. He is the author of The Bigger Picture and writes a popular Substack by the same name.
Alexander is an executive director of Breaking Convention, Europe's longest running conference on psychedelic medicine and culture. He was also one of the founders of Rebel Wisdom, a popular alternative media platform that ran from 2017-2022 and explored the cutting edge of systems change and cultural sense making.

  • The art of slow creativity and taking the pressure off, the beauty of growing older and getting to know ourselves better. Flores gorgeous debut album “The Lives They Left” and her journey of being a mother whilst releasing music as an independent artist, protecting our right to be soft hearted creatives, finding ways to connect deeper with our roots and culture, honoring our ancestors and so much more.
Flores is a contemporary R&B artist. Her dedication to her art stems from her family's history as Mexican Americans in the border city of El Paso, Texas. Though living abroad in Western Europe for many years, she adopts the phrase “ni de aqui, ni de alla” that she’s from neither here nor there. She envisions a world without borders, a world in which we can travel to our homelands safely and abroad freely. We are global citizens and Flores finds it her duty to convey that message through the art of spoken word. Flores released her first debut album titled "The Lives They Left" in 2022, in which she honors her elders who were field workers in the United States. Through her journey as a musician, a writer, a mother and a woman, Flores has found the confidence to explore artistic freedom while remaining true to herself.

  • Why being intentional in how we create and release our art matters, striking a balance between our creative pursuits and our mental health, weaving rest into our day to day lives, music as therapy as well as the pitfalls, developing a sense of feeling that we’re enough, celebrating our wins whether they seem small or big and getting creative with that process, taking time off social media to create more intentional impact and staying humble and kind.

Appleby is a quiet creative from Miami whose vulnerability lives on the surface of his artistry. although he finds it difficult to describe the genre of music he makes, it's fair to say it's nostalgia wrapped in honesty with a hint of glitter and hope. appleby is someone who chooses words carefully and has spent much of the last two years in silence. in the time away, he's been working to regain his sense of self-worth and reconnect with the inner child he felt was dying. In his mind, he's in the middle of becoming a butterfly.
