  • "There is life after death. The truth is it's a gateway to eternity."

Sah is joined by filmmaker Stephen Grey and near-death experience survivor Steve Kang to explore one of humanity's greatest mysteries—what happens after we die? Their groundbreaking documentary "After Death" has captivated audiences across North America, becoming one of the highest-grossing documentaries since 2019 with over a million tickets sold.

Through intimate conversation, Steve Kang shares his profound personal journey from surviving a suicide attempt to experiencing a life-changing near-death experience that transformed his understanding of existence. Having grown up in a Buddhist household, his story offers a unique perspective on how these experiences transcend religious and cultural boundaries.

This episode challenges conventional thinking about death and the afterlife, weaving together scientific research, personal testimonies, and cross-cultural insights. While offering fascinating evidence of consciousness beyond death through interviews with bestselling authors, doctors, and scientists, listeners should note the documentary takes a notably conservative Christian perspective (content warning: includes heteronormative views and traditional biblical interpretations).

Whether you're curious about near-death experiences, grappling with questions about the afterlife, or seeking understanding about life's purpose, this episode offers thought-provoking insights into what might await us all. Don't miss this chance to hear two pioneering voices discuss their quest to illuminate what lies beyond our earthly existence.

  • “Creativity is the way that we heal. It is the way that we alchemize a lot of our trauma into magic.”

Sah D'Simone sits down with Creativity Coach, Author, Speaker, and Podcaster Amie McNee to explore the transformative power of creativity and art in our lives. This discussion dives deep into the vital role of artistic expression in healing, personal growth, and connecting with our deeper selves.

Amie, whose upcoming book "We Need Your Art: Stop Messing Around and Make Something" is set to release in March 2025, shares her passion for empowering others to embrace their inherent creativity. She challenges common misconceptions about art and artists, arguing that creativity is not reserved for a talented few but is accessible to everyone.

This conversation touches on essential themes: the alchemical nature of art in transforming trauma into beauty, the prophetic potential of creative expression, and the power of artists' voices in shaping our world. Amie and Sah explore how art gives us agency, creates momentum in our lives, and allows us to rewrite our internal narratives.

They also delve into the practice of journaling as a form of art, discussing how it can serve as a time capsule of the present moment and a tool for self-discovery. Amie reveals how the act of creating can be both beautiful and challenging, confronting us with our darkness and light.

Whether you're a seasoned artist or someone who's never considered themselves creative, this episode offers wisdom and encouragement to tap into your artistic potential. Join Sah and Amie for a soul-stirring conversation on creativity, self-expression, and the transformative power of making art.

    GUEST BIO
Amie McNee created in total isolation for a long time. She bought into the stories that Artists can't make money, that they're lazy, that they're avoiding the real world. She spent years working jobs she hated, writing books and in a cycle of depression because she believed her desire to live a creative life made her less than. The work she does now is in service to her past self. She speaks, teaches and writes love letters to creators, reminding them that the world needs what they have to make, reminding them of their worth, and their importance in this world. Amie has been called to create supportive, empowered communities for writers and artists. She believes this is a big, beautiful, hard journey, and that no one needs to do it without support. Amie can be found on YouTube, Instagram, or on podcast apps.

    GUEST BIO

Peggy Kelly has been the lead Christian chaplain at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for the past 13 years. Originally from Minnesota, she grew up in a haunted lake house, where her spiritual inclinations developed from a young age. A naturally spiritual and imaginative child, Peggy initially pursued a career in acting and comedy, moving to Los Angeles with dreams of working in TV and film. She performed improvisational comedy for Disney and worked in the entertainment industry. However, the events of 9/11 prompted a profound shift in her path. Listening to her inner spiritual calling, she transitioned into chaplaincy, a role in which she has since accompanied over 2,000 people through the final moments of their lives. Peggy views this work as a privilege, being present for the most profound and vulnerable experiences of others. Outside of her intense professional life, Peggy embraces the vibrant lifestyle of being a "gal in LA."

They explore themes from Sah’s new book, Spiritually, We, sharing their personal experiences of deepening their sibling and spiritual bonds, and the challenges they faced in their journey. Emphasizing the need for vulnerability, embracing discomfort, and expressing needs to build deeper connections, they also highlight the significance of facing one's own darkness and shadow to invite others into their inner world.
    They discuss…

Why deepening friendships requires vulnerability and embracing discomfort.

How expressing needs and advocating for oneself is essential in building deeper connections.

Why facing one's own darkness and shadow is necessary to invite others into one's inner world.

That friendships require ongoing work and cultivation to deepen and grow.

How building deep connections requires doing inner work and relating with one's inner demons.

  • This week, Sah brings you a solocast sharing the spiritual lessons he learned while trekking with his father over 500 miles from France to Spain on the ancient and revered pilgrim's path, the Camino de Santiago.
What began as an effort to process and honor the grief they were experiencing after the loss of Sah's mother, Patricia, ended as a father-son bonding experience rich with profound spiritual lessons and discoveries from within.
Walking for 7 hours a day— through all weather conditions across ever-changing terrain —gave Sah and his father plenty of time, space, and immersement in nature to explore the depths of their grief, the expanse of their hearts, and contemplate their desires for the future after their heartbreaking loss.

This podcast was recorded live in The Somatic Activated Healing Membership as part of Sah's monthly Dharma Talks.
Start your free trial NOW! https://practice.sahdsimone.com/sah-membership

    He explores…
    1. Walking to heal from grief
    2. How unconditional love is loving without a desired outcome
    3. The importance of setting intentions before an action
    4. Learning to skillfully relate to destructive thoughts
    5. Viewing our judgments of others through the lens of compassion
    6. Feeling deeply interconnected with all of life
    7. Being supported while falling apart gracefully
    And more!
