In today's solo episode of 'The Wellbeing Wanderer Podcast' Kat talks about how living life simply makes you healthier and happier. Kat has spent many months living in the popular 'Blue Zone' of Guanacaste in Costa Rica where people tend to live longer than the average person and adopt a 'Pura Vida' (the pure life) lifestyle.
If you are feeling overwhelmed by life, overstimulated, over worked or burnt out and then this episode is for you.Key points covered in today's episode:
Kat shares a bit about the commonalities between blue zones around the world and how people live more simply, slowly and for longer How in 1st world, westernised countries like the UK and the US we are over stressed through overdoing, overstimulation and bombarded by sensory visuals and information and it is stress that leads to disease. How for a long while Kat removed all the extra stressors in her life that were overstimulating her brain including the news, TV and Netflix. That creating space to just be with yourself and be present without any background distractions like TV or music will help you to find more peace. How booking at least a week of no plans, no schedules, literally nothingness is incredibly healing for you. Slowing down is a key piece to healing the body and the mind. That we don't need Netflix, TV, mobile phones and there was a time when none of these things existed and they have a negative effect on us. These dopamine rich stimulants detach you from yourself and lead to anxiety. The closer to nature we are and what's natural, the healthier we feel and the more space we have to form connections to ourselves and others. Try to spend more time with whatever nature you have available to you will help you to destress and lower cortisol levels. How eating food close to source means it is more nutrient dense and will therefore help your body function better How people living simply have more of an active lifestyle which contributes to good health. That being in a community is so healing because we a re tribal beings and are not meant to live alone, for thousands of years we lived in tribes.End quote by Hans HofmannThank you for listening! 🙏If this episode or the podcast resonates with you or you know it will help someone else - please share it :)Show your love and support for Kat by hitting the follow/subscribe button and by leaving a 5 star review on ITunes or Spotify."It may not seem like much but this small act means the world to me & is what helps the show to grow organically, thank you."Kat CONNECT WITH KAT:If you are interested in working with Kat and would like her support check out the links below 👇Chat with Kat for FREE: Click hereKat's website: www.wellbeingwanderer.comKat's Instagram: @thewellbeingwanderer

In today's solo episode of 'The Wellbeing Wanderer Podcast' Kat reveals how she has recently become aware that she'd slipped into victim mode and was blaming everything around her for her current situation without taking any responsibility . Kat shares how to free yourself from this disempowering place and hopes you will leave the episode feeling positive and powerful.
If you have been feeling like everything keeps going wrong for you, maybe you have a lot of bad luck or life never seems to go the way you want then this episode is for you.Key points covered in today's episode:
Kat explains what being in victim mode means, how it feels and why she has fallen into this place again Kat shares how she feels embarrassed, ashamed and not good enough on the current outcome of her business and love life. That getting out of victim mode requires taking an honest look at yourself, taking responsibility for the fact you are where you are and not placing the blame outside of yourself. It is up to you to change your mental and emotional state and seek help to shift your perspective and change your inner narrative, nobody can do that for you. How life will likely give you a wake up call to snap you out of your self pity and things are happening for you and there is a reason for your situation making you feel worse. That you can't control life around you but you can change how you feel on the inside by looking at your conditioning, removing negativity and regulating your body. The universe only responds to energy so even if something really bad has happened to you and you feel justifiably sad, it will match that frequency. It's nothing personal. The different ways you can move negative energy through you and out of your body including movement, meditation and journalling. The concept of how everything in your external reality is a reflection of your internal beliefs. That Kat had the insight that she has not done enough inner work to create the reality she desires which is why her business is not where she wants it to be and has not met her person. What the observer effect is and a little about how quantum physics plays a role in creating the life you desire. The importance of not bypassing your negative emotions, to make sure you feel, experience and release them and not pushing them down. How you are much more powerful and stronger than you know and you can overcome your victim mindset.End quote by Steve MaraboliThank you for listening!

On today's guest episode of 'The Wellbeing Wanderer Podcast' Kat chats to Chris Rackliffe, a Anxious Attachment Style Coach and Author. Chris is also a trauma healer, a mental health advocate and author of the self-help book, It’s Good to See Me Again: How to Find Your Way When You Feel Lost—an illuminating guidebook on the journey to find emotional healing.
If you struggle to have your emotional needs met in a relationship or identify that you display anxious or avoidant behaviour then this episode is for you.
Key points covered in today's episode:
Chris explains what attachment theory is and what the different attachment styles are including anxious, avoidant, disorganised and secure. That we tend to develop an insecure attachment style during childhood through trauma whether it's big or small and what trauma means. Chris shares what brought on his anxious attachment including the loss of his mother and the emotional distance between him and his father amongst other difficult personal traumas. That being disconnected from our care givers, physically and emotionally triggers our survival responses and causes trauma. How the different roles we play in childhood like for example 'the golden child' can deeply affect how we expect our needs to be met as adults. That you can develop insecure attachment styles in adult life through relationship traumas and sometimes over or under-compensate our behaviour Why you need emotional and nervous system regulation in order to grow more and discover a secure attachment style and that your emotions live within your nervous system. The importance of taking accountability for your behaviour and not blaming or shaming yourself so that you can allow healing to take place. How self love is a key component for healing and that you have to love yourself into evolution, soften and open up more often than not. Every human will experience anxiety, fear, worry and doubt, what brings us into balance again and helps us heal is when we have the ability to hold those emotions and bounce back to a place of self love and trust. The most important piece of advice for finding an aligned romantic partner is to honour yourself and walk away from those who are not in alignment with your values. To remember you are NOT broken and you do NOT require fixing ❤️End quote by James Clear

In today's solo episode of 'The Wellbeing Wanderer Podcast' Kat speaks openly about the fact that despite being happy with herself she can't shake the feeling of loneliness and wanting to share her life with a partner but can't seem to meet the right guy.
If you are in your 40's like Kat or even older and are single but want a partner and feeling frustrated and fed up with waiting, then this episode is for you.Key points covered in today's episode:
Kat vulnerably shares how she has been feeling really unsettled for a while and how she's now realised the thing that's unsettling her is being single in her 40's. How it's perfectly normal to crave to be with a partner as this is part of being human and a primitive program. That happiness doesn't come into the desire to be with someone, Kat is very happy but she can't shake the feeling of loneliness. The role of the masculine and feminine and how the feminine is not designed to be alone. That it despite Kat attracting men to her she can't seemed to find the right one. How you can feel wonderful in yourself but despite working on yourself, doing all your inner work etc it doesn't guarantee you will find your partner and this is incredibly frustrating. In terms of spirituality there will be a reason why Kat has not found her partner, there is a lesson she can't see and that it will happen at the right time. It's impossible to stop the pain of loneliness and if the emotion is present it's the universes way of getting you to feel it. That you can only go as high as you go low and that this time alone being single is sacred and an opportunity to love yourself more deeply. The importance of working on the love for yourself and understanding your subconscious so that you can be happy in yourself.End quote by Wishesmessages.comThank you for listening!

This episode also dives into the holistic side of weightloss and what foods to eat to keep your body healthy, prevent disease and chronic health conditions.
If you have been trying to lose weight, tried all the diets and are fed up because nothing seems to be working then this episode is for you.Key points covered in today's episode:
Kat share's that the key to losing weight and keeping it off comes from a lifestyle shift and seeing it as a long term change rather than short term. The dangers of sugar, how it is an addictive drug and the damage it does to your body. Why whole foods are better to eat than highly processed, sugary foods when it comes to weight loss and that they keep you fuller for longer reducing the need to snack. The reason why restriction doesn't work and that if there's a sugary or processed food you desire it's ok to eat it occasionally just not all the time. The benefits of a eating a balanced meal 2 to 3 times a day. How fasting can help with weightoss The best time of day to eat your evening meal, that being 3 to 4 hours before bed. How not enough sleep can cause weight gain as it reduces the hunger hormone Grehlin. Why staying well hydrated helps with weightloss and how it actually helps burn carbohydrates and fats. Having the right mindset about food and not labelling any food as good as eating is psychologically good for you and bad helps you to stay on track to your weight loss goals. Living by the 80% 20% rule means you never restrict yourself from the foods you love. Why it's important to not punish yourself for eating 'badly' and how stress contributes to weight gain and actually prevents you from losing weight. The power of self love, inner peace and calm, how this helps regulate your hormones, lowers stress and aids with weight loss. Getting clear on how you want to feel and keeping this feeling at the forefront of your mind will help you stay on track and make choices that will serve you in your weight loss journey. Why weights and strength training will help you lose weight faster and also tone up. Changing your relationship with food, seeing it as medicine and understanding how it becomes a part of you and not just seeing it as something that prevents hunger.End quote by AnonymousThank you for listening!

In today's solo episode of 'The Wellbeing Wanderer Podcast' Kat shares her experience of what happens when we over effort and push ourselves in the health and wellbeing space and how there come's a point where stopping and giving your ego permission to take control is required to feel balanced. If you have been over efforting and it's beginning to feel like an unnecessary chore, then this episode is for you.Key points covered in today's episode:
Kat explains how over-efforting in her business and with her wellness practices has lead to burn out and and exhaustion and how to regain balance your body will likely take you to the opposite of what you've experienced. How intentionally allowing your ego to take over, be free and have a play is very healthy for you because your ego is a part of what it is to be human, always denying your ego means you're denying a part of yourself. Doing your inner work, living holistically, practicing self care and self love is still important and necessary to heal and feel happier inside, but you don't have to do this constantly. How when you feel really good about yourself and on the inside, the desire for your goals and dreams becomes lessoned because feeling happy inside IS the ultimate win and this is what Kat's experiencing. Kat share's how she is living her life now, in full surrender, walking through all the doors that open and allowing the doors that close to close, trusting in the flow of life and going along for the ride. There is so much power in neutrality and when we make decisions from a state of balance, calm and peace it leads us to a life in alignment with our highest self. How when you allow true surrender you release a lot of tension, drop anxiety and even the difficult things feel easy. That to get better at following your intuition, pause and pay attention to how each action you take feels within your body, what feels like a good feeling and where do you feel it and equally what feels wrong and where do you feel it? This helps you to seize the right opportunities for you. The happiest you get to be is right here right now, you don't have to wait for the thing that you think will make you happy.End quote by BasharThank you for listening!

On today's guest episode of 'The Wellbeing Wanderer Podcast' Kat chats to Tal Saville, a Human Design Expert, spiritual life coach and energy healer. She has an obsession for all things energy and helps people re-discover their true selves so they can build their best lives through tools like Human Design, parts work, energy work, holistic healing, and more. For maximum personal insight, before listening to this enlightening episode, go check out which Human Design type you are over on Tal's website www.energywithtal.com
If you are seeking to better understand who you are, why you are the way you are and want more clarity on your purpose then this episode is for you.
Key points covered in today's episode:
Tal breaks down what Human Design is and how it gives you a map to your energy and a tailored guide on how to live a healthy, happy and satisfying life. That Human Design is made up of 4 parts - The Kabbalah tree of life, the Chinese I-Ching system, Astrology and the Hindu Chakra system Tal shares what lead her to Human Design including the discovery that she was queer which lead her wanting to discover more about herself, getting a coach and eventually finding Human Design. How everything is just energy and that there is so much more to enjoy and delight in that the world we see and how we are meant for more. Tal explains the different types of Human Design including Generators, Manifesting Generators, Projectors, Manifestors and Reflectors. Each type is meant to feel a certain way in life - Generators and manifesting generators are meant to feel satisfied, Projectors are meant to feel successful, Manifestors are meant to feel peaceful and Reflectors are meant to feel surprised. When you are out of alignment and using your energy incorrectly, an opposite feeling will occur, for Generators it’s frustration, for a Projector it’s bitterness, for a Manifestor it’s anger and for a Reflector it’s disappointment. Listening to what feels right for you and tuning into your body will help move you towards a life that aligns to you. Tal explains what the defined and undefined parts of the body graph Human Design chart means and how the coloured parts mean you have consistent access to energy in those parts and can rely on and how the undefined parts highlight inconsistent energy and open to receiving energy from outside of you from other people and places and are therefore more vulnerable. Tal gives a mini Human Design reading using Kat’s Chart as an example to understand how to read a chart and what the different bits mean. How practicing how things feel in your body and understanding what is a a right feeling and a wrong feeling for you is your inner compass.End quote by Karen Flaherty

On today's guest episode of 'The Wellbeing Wanderer Podcast' Kat chats to Brooke Yantzi a Intuitive and Somatic Coach, Creator of the Dance Alchemy Somatic Healing modality and TedX speaker. This powerful episode explores what it takes for the body to heal and how somatic movement, dance, tuning in and connecting to your body helps us to heal our repressed pain, trauma and trapped emotions. If you are on a healing journey or are struggling with pain, trauma or negative energy and want to feel liberated then this episode is for you.Key Points covered in today's episode:• Brooke breaks down exactly what she does and how she does it, helping people heal through somatics and dance and connect to the wisdom within us.
• How we live in a world that's disconnected from our bodies, in overwhelm and with an over-regulated nervous system and how dance is one of the best ways to bring us back into our bodies combining the 5 elements earth, water, fire, air and ether.
• That life itself is a dance and we can't always be operating at our peak performance and how the real medicine is when we allow ourselves to be all of ourselves, the ego, the heart, the spirit.
• Love and compassion for ourself is where the healing really lies, to fully accept who we are.
• The importance of feeling safe in your body and how this attributes to healing by creating an opening for healing, expression and creativity.
• A huge part of the reason we are in a mental health crisis is because our nervous systems are over stimulated and over-regulated by so many things coming at them including a lack of sunshine (vitamin D) which helps regulate us.
• What sort of movement in particular helps with healing and how allowing your body to move how it wants to, shaking and bouncing releases a lot of negative energy.
• Brooke shares how that somatics and dancing helped her to navigate the grief portal of the ending of her marriage and how she allowed the many many emotions to be felt instead of bypassed.
• The importance of being supported by other people when you have a traumatic or emotionally painful experience.
• How feminine sacred rage and anger is incredibly powerful and extremely healing not just for yourself but the world and it can be expressed in a healthy way.End quote by Shah AsadThank you for listening! If this episode resonated with you or you know it will help someone else - please share it :)

Key points covered in today's episode:
Kat shares her experience of spending a lot of time on her own and how even though she was working away on her business, having nothing else outside of that led to feeling of boredom. How just surviving isn't enough anymore, humans want to thrive and our modern life has made everything so easy. That when you are single, don't have children and don't have a family of your own we tend to throw ourselves into a project, passion or career and that it's not everyone's job to procreate, we all have our separate mission. The positive side of spending time alone by yourself is that you gain ideas, inspiration and creativity and clarify your purpose. How when you push yourself too much and you are not listening to what your body and intuition is telling you, you'll be forced into a position to stop. The way the digital world is interfering with our peace and connection to ourselves and the answers we seek about our purpose. If you are failing to learn the lesson life is giving you then it may just be that you have to break and your world as you know it may fall apart so that you understand and gain clarity towards a life that aligns to you.End quote by Bianca Sparacino

In this episode Asher and Kat explore the topic of immigration and the challenges it causes including racism, identity crisis, language barriers and lack of community.
If you are thinking about moving countries or are already an immigrant experiencing challenges in a new country, then this episode is for you.
Key Points covered in today's episode:
Asher explains what made him want to become a 'Wisdom Coach' how he has always been a dreamer and an active pursuer of wisdom and came over from Jamaica to the US to join the army How wisdom comes from experiencing the new and integrating that knowledge into your life. The attitude Asher was met with when he cam over to the USA from Jamaica, how he experienced a lot of racism in the south and how sometimes this happens when people haven't travelled much. How travelling the world helps to break down racial barriers by immersing yourself in different cultures and see people for who they are and not judge them by the colour of their skin. The identity crisis immigrants and veterans suffer from and how language and re-joining the real world after being a part of the close knit community in the military can be a major cause. What happens when you don't try to fit in, how going it alone eludes you from community which makes you vulnerable and unprotected. The impact that Spirituality has had on Asher's life and how it fuels his creativity, especially when he reaches a space where there are no obvious answers. Asher shares the most life changing wisdom that he's received.Thank you for listening!

Key points covered in today's episode:
Kat explains what 'Divine timing' means and how we are always exactly in the right place. How Kat is nowhere near where she expected to be at the age of 40 yet despite this she believes there is a good reason for this and how we can't see the bigger picture. That if something you want does NOT show up for you then there is a reason for that and that there is something better that you possibly can't even imagine coming in its place. How you can block yourself from getting what you want by becoming too attached to the idea of how you're going to get it and you are also blocking yourself from seeing the other pathways and opportunities. The universe will make things really hard for you if your are on the wrong path so that you let go of the attachment to getting something. How leaning into trust and surrender is how you get into flow and alignment with the path that's going to serve you best and how sometimes that path looks like you are going the wrong way but you trust it anyway.End quote by @atmogenesis

On today's guest episode of 'The Wellbeing Wanderer Podcast' Kat sits down with Lauren Ainsborough, a Transformational Coach, Relationship expert, Author of 'The Self love revolution' and Unconditional Love Alchemist. Lauren empowers men and women to heal from trauma, reconnect with their true self, and build fulfilling relationships that ignite their passion and purpose. This episode dives into romantic relationships, both unhealthy and healthy, why and how you attract them and how to break toxic patterns. If you are attracting the wrong people into your life and want to find your romantic partner then this episode is for you.
Key Points covered in today's episode:
Lauren shares her story of what led her to the powerful work she does today including getting into a very toxic relationship at 21, getting married, pregnant and going through a challenging divorce settlement. How her daughter connected her to her inner child and the trauma she experienced helped her decondition from her old habits and made her much happier also known as 'post traumatic growth'. That trying new hobbies like dancing, singing and doing things for herself only made her feel much happier and help her to heal from the toxic relationship and court stress. How deep down we are seeking a connection to ourselves when we decide to stay in a toxic relationship and we often try fulfilling a role that is not ours to compensate for the parts we are missing. The chemistry at the start of a toxic relationship will be incredibly strong because you are attracting people into your life that reflect all the unhealed parts of yourself. Masculine and feminine dynamics, what they are, healthy masculine energy, wounded masculine energy, the role of the healed masculine, healed feminine and how healing both these parts of you will help you attract better partners. How you can feel fulfilled in a relationship when both you and your partner are willing to address the unhealed parts of you, are prepared to work on them and really step into your female/male roles. How to identify if you are in a toxic relationship and what it feels like to be with the right person for you. In heterosexual relationships, a healthy man will support, nurture, protect and encourage a woman that stands in her power. Working on positively shifting your own energy to feel content, whole and stable within yourself and healing your wounded masculine and feminine will help you to attract a romantic partner that is right for you.End quote by anonymous

Key points covered in today's episode:
Kat shares her thoughts on what has been presenting itself to her as important while spending a lot of time alone in England and taking stock of her life. The love, acceptance and support she found in her Costa Rican community is unparalleled compared to her previous experience. How deep down we are all looking to feel loved and understood and what we are unconsciously searching for. That community doesn’t have to mean lots of people, sometimes just one person can make all the difference if they make you feel loved and understood. How when there is a lack of love their is more fear and therefore more division, less unity and this is where humanity begins to break down and fall apart. There is a shift happening in the world, where people are waking up and beginning to realise how connected we all are to each other and the planet and the way we currently operate requires changing as it’s not working. What it’s like to experience ‘the oneness’, how everything clicks and you realise that when you hurt others you are hurting yourself and how nature has this figured out How humans have free will and have the choice to respond with love, kindness and compassion instead of fear, hate and anger and how we can re-educate our children. That we live on a planet together and that we are the ones who have split ourselves up into countries, created separation and segregation and that we have a greater chance of survival if we come together rather than divide. Kat shares her vision of the new world and how she sees a world of inclusivity and educating children to be more unified and loving. The more positive thoughts you have, the more you can lean into love, the better you are going to feel inside and the better everyone around you will feel. How YOU can make a difference to the planet by choosing to do your own inner work and choosing to be kind and compassionate.End quote by Michael Jackson

Key Points covered in today's episode:
Charlie share's what brought him to the work he now does and how it all began with the contraction of a bacterial infection in Gambia and the search for a cure beyond conventional medicine leading him to spiritual and metaphysical experiences. How he challenged the feeling of loneliness by sitting with it until it dissipated and took him to a place of extraordinary silence, provoking him to seek a deeper understanding of what feelings are and where they can take us. How humans have a fundamental need to be 'witnessed' and how energy/emotions cannot move through us and be dissolved until they are witnessed which is why there is the expression "feel it to heal it". How are minds are very good at hiding pain and our capacity to hide it is incredible and each feeling we have is the doorway to our subconscious and you can ask yourself where that feeling originated. Getting centered by getting out of your head and tuning into your body, noticing where that feeling arises, and trying to describe how it looks can help you connect to your feelings. How, the benefits of connecting to your feelings helps you to feel alive, it makes the experience of feeling emotions less scary and not feeling overwhelmed by them. How strong emotions can disempower and take away your control but if you can learn to be more aware of your emotions it makes it easier to shift away from that emotion and stop it. That the more we come into the body the more rounded our intelligence becomes.End quote by Rumi

On today's guest episode of 'The Wellbeing Wanderer Podcast' Kat chats to Lauren Flack a Somatic movement and voice coach who's here to spread the knowledge and techniques that she has found life changing since deciding to embrace the stress and tension she found building up in her body as a response to being out of balance with her life. If you are finding your body is not working for you, maybe you are experiencing chronic stiffness, aches, tension and stress and modern medication is not helping, then this episode is for you.
Key Points covered in today's episode:
Lauren share's her backstory and the path of striving to be a performer and singer that led her to becoming a somatic movement coach. How people hold onto tension but are unaware they are doing it and the damaging affects this has on the body as it tries to correct for it in other places causing imbalances. The role emotions play in tension, how muscles only tense as a result of a chemical signal sent from the brain, how these are picked up from our environment and it's the body feeling under threat. Lauren explains the myth of ageing posture - that when you get older you will be hunched over, stiff, in pain and with aches and how this is a fallacy. How breathwork comes into somatic movement and tension release but understanding there is a right and a wrong way to breathe. Lauren explains the correct way to breathe. The importance of the Diaphragm and how learning to engage it will properly helps you to breathe properly. Lauren shares lot's of simple, quick daily somatic practices you can do daily, some of which in-between your normal routine. How to stretch properly in order to lengthen by contracting to extend further which is not commonly done. That it is up to each and every one of us to take accountability and responsibility for our body.End quote by @sourcemessages

In today's solo episode of 'The Wellbeing Wanderer Podcast' Kat shares her experience of being a free spirit in a society of structure, rules, pressure and expectations. If you are a free spirit and have been trying to conform then this episode is for you.
FREE Masterclass for overcoming challenges and building confidence:

Key topics covered in today's episode:
Kat explains what being a free spirit means and how she finds it challenging to stay in one place for more than a few years. How Kat never ever felt like the UK was her home or that she fit in well and that Costa Rica gave her that sense of belonging. The difficulties of finding a long term partner as a free spirit - the majority of people prefer to stay in one place. How Kat tried really hard to conform and build a life with someone in one place but felt like she was going against her true nature as a wanderer. Tuning into yourself and honouring your truth helps you stay in integrity, make choices that serve you and avoid leading you to unfavourable situations. The danger with trying to fit in with society instead of listening to your heart.End quote by F.E. Marie
