What's up Beautiful! Welcome back to What She Grows Through. Today’s episode is one I know so many of us can relate to—The Fear of Success. Whew, this one has been hitting me hard lately as I’ve been going through some major growth. We all have big dreams, but sometimes, right when we’re close to achieving them, there’s something inside that holds us back. It’s not always the fear of failure... sometimes, it’s the fear of actually succeeding.
In this episode, we’re going to talk about that fear—how it brings change, discomfort, and ultimately helps us grow. By finding balance and learning to appreciate how far we’ve come, we can unlock our full potential.
We’ll also touch on something just as important—evaluating our relationships, setting boundaries, and making sure we’re surrounded by positive energy. It’s all part of the journey to living a fuller, more intentional life.
So, let's get into it and start overcoming the fear of success, together!

What's up, Beautiful souls! 🌼
Step into our space for an episode infused with the warmth of summer, where we journey through joy, self-love, and the art of well-being. I had the pleasure of sitting down with the radiant Pia Thompson, whose path has been as dynamic as it's been inspiring. From a writer and speaker to a home therapist and well-being coach, Pia has been on a transformative voyage, and she's here to share it with our community of powerful Black and Brown women.
Dive deep into Pia's story as she recounts her serendipitous encounter with Marie Kondo's philosophy after a pivotal job interview. But for Pia, it wasn't just about tidying up – it was a spiritual awakening. Through decluttering, she unearthed spaces that sang songs of personal tales and evoked genuine joy. But she didn't stop at just physical realms; Pia’s journey beautifully merges into the sacred territories of self-reflection, intentionality, and setting boundaries in a world that constantly tugs at our time.
Drawing strength and wisdom from her experiences as a Black woman, Pia offers a fresh, soulful perspective on the importance of living in our truth and nurturing joy in every step we take. As we ride the waves of this Self-Care Summer Series, Pia's narrative is a gentle reminder that the journey to well-being and happiness is uniquely ours but shared in its essence.
Join us for a heartwarming episode filled with laughter, insights, and a sprinkle of summer magic. Here's to embracing our truths, celebrating our joys, and connecting deeply with one another! 💛

As we soak all the way in the warmth of these golden days, let's deep dive into a realm that touches the very core of our existence as Black and Brown women: embracing the art of well-being and nurturing those boundaries. In episode 44, I have the honor of sharing a space with the radiant Latoya De'Saun. If her story doesn't resonate with the tune of empowerment, I don’t know what does! This sister has walked through life's storms, faced challenges head-on, and emerged with a spirit that’s not just unbroken, but soaring!
From the pangs of chronic pain to the euphoria of personal growth, Latoya has seen it all, felt it deeply, and grown exponentially. Her story is our story - a testament to the Black woman’s journey of resilience, love, and that undying spirit of rising, regardless. As she shares her experiences, she beautifully underscores the essentiality of Black women crafting spaces that are exclusively ours - spaces of healing, reflection, and prioritization.
Join us, and let's absorb, reflect, and empower ourselves. Understand how you, too, can brave this life journey, rise above challenges, and harness the transformative power within, one self-care step at a time. What's up Beautiful! Welcome to another enriching episode of our Self-Care Summer Series on the "What She Grows Through" podcast. Today, we're blessed to have the fashion designer and entrepreneur, Passion, sharing her inspiring journey of self-discovery and growth.
Passion is a testament to resilience. Her years in the challenging yet rewarding world of entrepreneurship and fashion have gifted her with a multitude of experiences. Each triumph and hurdle nudged her on a profound journey inward, guiding her to peel back layers of societal labels and discover her true self. Together, we explore the importance of self-reflection and the illuminating power of personal devotionals on our journey to self-discovery.
As we dive deeper into the episode, we address the pivotal topics of self-care, mental health, and resilience among Black women. We unpack the transformative power of vulnerability and the necessity of setting firm boundaries to protect our energy. We discuss the realities of stress, anxiety, and burnout, and how Passion has made significant strides in integrating self-care into her daily routine.
Fear is another significant theme we tackle - fear of success, being seen, fear of failure, and how resilience, persistence, and accountability can transform these fears into stepping stones to success.
In the later part of the episode, we embark on a profound exploration of the journey towards growth and self-reflection. We celebrate the transformative power of journaling and the significance of creating safe spaces, both for ourselves and our communities. As we share our stories, we unlearn negative societal teachings and foster understanding.
As we usher in the summer season, our conversation reiterates the importance of self-nourishment, building meaningful connections, and practicing self-care. My connection with Passion is an invitation for you, Beautiful, to join us on this journey of introspection, growth, and self-actualization.
Remember, it's not just about going through life, it's about growing through it. Let's do it together. Enjoy the episode!

In episodes 26 and 27 of the Confidence series, I shared the importance of building confidence, why we lack confidence in the first place in certain areas of our lives as well as how we can begin using the confidence cycle to get good at doing anything… if we apply the skills…
Many Black Women including me tend to get stuck aspiring to be confident in areas that challenge us the most…
You know, that place we get stuck when fear gets in the way of our dreams and ambitions.
In our final episode of the confidence series, I share the #1 rule to this confidence game; The action of confidence comes first and the feeling of confidence comes later.
Tune in and get all these gems Beautiful
