In 2021, he launched Jopiter Inc, the parent company of Jopiter Studios, to revolutionize the fashion marketplace. He is also the Co-Executive and COO of Announce Digital Fashion, Africa's first digital fashion exhibition event host, with its inaugural event in November 2024. Abubakar is the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Jopiter Inc, Creative Director of Jopiter Studios, and COO of Announce Digital Fashion.

This week on XRAtlas, @Thebabatunde speaks with @davee_ola, the Lead Gameplay Engineer and Co-founder at Dimension11 Games studio. He and his team are the masterminds behind Legend of Orisha: Blood and Water, an action-adventure role-playing game (RPG) set in an African fantasy world based on African mythology and Yoruba stories. Babatunde had some time to play the game in the episode and was blown away by the stunning 3D environment, character design, storytelling, and more. They spoke extensively about what it took to build such an amazing game, his journey as a self-taught gameplay programmer, and some of the lessons and challenges he and his team have learned and faced in the African game development ecosystem. In this episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with Steve Grubbs, the founder of VictoryXR, a platform that allows students to learn and interact in the Metaverse. VictoryXR offers immersive classrooms and campuses through virtual reality, where educators can utilize 3D objects and other interactive features to teach a variety of subjects. Since its founding in 2016, the VXR team has won the Global Education Innovation of the Year award and has become a leader in the field of immersive education.
During our conversation, we discussed Steve's background and his vision for the future of education, as well as the potential of the Metaverse as a learning platform. We also talked about the hype surrounding the Metaverse and whether it's truly the future of education or just a passing trend. We also touched on the cost implications for students, including the need for Metaverse-compatible gadgets and the potential for financial barriers to entry. Overall, it was a fascinating and thought-provoking discussion that I'm sure my listeners will enjoy.
