This week’s episode features Daniel Cloud, a DBS speaker and member of the international DBS board. He delves into the role of the late prophets among the 16 biblical prophets, unpacking their messages and the deep hope woven throughout their warnings.
"Every single prophet brings hope. Even in the midst of destruction, that’s never the final message. In the heart of every prophetic word, there’s always a chance for restoration. Even in Jeremiah, known as the 'weeping prophet,' his grief reflects God’s heart for His people, but even there, there’s always hope—always a way back to God."
Daniel highlights how even the most severe prophetic messages, like those from Jeremiah, are always balanced with the invitation of restoration and redemption—showing that destruction is never the last word in God’s story.
Join us as we explore the prophetic messages of hope and repentance, and discover how these words still apply to our lives today.

This week’s episode features Ange Miracle, a YWAM Alumni and a speaker who staffed the very first DBS in Kona in September 2012. She takes us through the early prophets, exploring their role in calling Israel back to faithfulness. Out of the 16 biblical prophets, these early messengers played a critical role in both warning and restoring God’s people.
"The prophets were covenant enforcement mediators. They weren’t just proclaiming destruction—they always carried a message of hope. Their words reminded the people of God’s love, His purpose, and His promise of redemption."
Ange unpacks how the prophets weren’t just voices of judgment but messengers of God’s deep love and commitment to His people. Their role was to call Israel back to the covenant and offer assurance of God’s restoration even in the midst of rebellion.
Join us as we dive into scripture and rediscover the hope woven into the prophetic books!

This week’s episode features Therese Vannoy, as she unpacks the history of the Kings of Israel and Judah—which rulers followed Yahweh and which turned to the gods of the land. She begins by breaking down 1 Chronicles, giving us essential historical context to better understand the Book of Kings.
"The Book of Kings comes alive when we understand what God was asking Israel to do—and how they didn’t do it. Throughout this book, we see the tension between good and evil, the consequences of idolatry, and the hope of a coming King. The messianic promise remains, even in the midst of human failure."
Therese takes us deep into the Hebrew themes of tov (good) and ra (evil), tracing them from the Garden of Eden through Israel’s history. She also highlights a key chapter in Deuteronomy that gives us the lens to understand the rise and fall of Israel’s kings.
Join us as we explore justice, idolatry, and the hope of redemption in one of the most complex and powerful sections of scripture!

This week’s episode features Jim Brown, a DBS speaker and YWAM Nashville Alumni, as he unpacks the life of David and the transition from the tribal period to the Monarchy of Israel. Through David’s story, Jim challenges us to examine the areas of our lives where we’ve held on to control instead of letting God be King.
"We have this amazing opportunity to give back control to God… to let go of the places where we've asked for a king or tried to be the king ourselves. Unlike Israel, we’re living in the redemptive side of the story. We don’t have to be stuck with the consequences of that choice. There’s freedom and joy in surrendering to God’s rule."
Join us as we dive into scripture and learn from David’s victories, failures, and ultimate pursuit of God’s heart. This episode invites you to reflect on who truly reigns over your life.

This week,Jason "Bamboo" Elwood, a Bible teacher fromYWAM Richmond and a recent graduate of theBible Teacher School (BTS), walks us through thetribal period—Israel’s beginnings in the Promised Land. Through Israel’s story, he challenges us to step out of spiritual dryness and into the fullness of life God intends for us.
"Our Christian lives were brought out of sin so that we might be brought into abundant life. The wilderness is never God’s intended destination for us, just like it wasn’t for Israel. Yet, so many Christians today remain stuck in a dry spiritual place, never truly walking into the fullness of what God has for them."
Are you ready to move forward in your faith? Let’s dive into scripture together and learn how God’s warnings, promises, and call to holiness still speak powerfully to us today!

Got a special episode for you this week! Check in to see what's up and listen as our guest dives into his journey through religious "deconstruction", how he was able to rebuild from there, and some of the insights he had along the way. We know this is an unusually long episode but it was such a meaty topic, and the flow for this one did not support splitting the episode in way that we felt it would not injure what was happening. This will not be the norm.
