A cinematic psychology podcast about movies explained, character psychology, emotional storytelling, and the films that change us.
BackStoryMovies: Psychology, Storytelling & The Movies That Change Us
A cinematic psychology podcast about movies explained, endings explained, character psychology, emotional storytelling, and the films that stay with you long after the credits roll.
Every movie is a mirror—and every story is a map of who we are, who we’ve been, and who we’re becoming. BackStoryMovies breaks down films and TV through emotional truth, narrative psychology, and the character arcs that reflect our own internal transformations.
If you love film analysis, cinematic storytelling, psychological movies explained, narrative breakdowns, and emotional movies, you’re in the right place.
Each episode blends cinematic storytelling with guided emotional insight—slow, intentional, reflective—designed to help you understand not just the story on screen, but the story unfolding inside you.
We explore:
• the psychology behind iconic scenes • the emotional meaning of unforgettable endings • the character arcs that mirror our own • the narrative patterns that reveal who we’re becoming • the stories that break us open and put us back together
Created by Annette (A Creative Expression), the voice behind CreativityIsExpression.com, this show is for anyone who feels movies deeply, thinks in scenes, and believes storytelling is a form of emotional clarity.
If you’re ready to see your life through a cinematic lens—welcome. Read more explained in cinematic writing at our website at BackStoryMovies.com, “where movies are a mirror for transformation.”

“You know, I think that movies are a conspiracy because they set you up from the time you’re a little kid... They set you up to believe in everything, in ideals and strength and good guys and romance - and, of course, love” (Gena Rowlands em Minnie and Moskowitz, 1971).

Tavenend is an investigative horror audio drama, presented as the personal audio log of an unnamed Investigator obsessed with a single, isolated town. His mission: to document the strange and paranormal events saturating Tavenend, Cornwall, by collecting, restoring, and digitising a vast archive of "found-footage" audio recordings.
Each episode is a new case file. The Investigator introduces the recording, plays the self-contained, terrifying audio in its entirety, and then returns to analyse its contents.
For fans of The Magnus Archives, Limetown, and The Black Tapes, The Tavenend Tapes is a slow-burn psychological horror about a man, his archive, and a town that doesn't want its secrets told. - Montre plus
