Tonight we conclude our conversation on the hiring of more black coaches in the major leagues such as NFL, NBA, and also collegiate sports. What can we do to convince owners to hire more black leaderships? Also a bigger question is, should black people be aiming hire such as perhaps owning a team or league? To answer these questions and more, we draw reference from minds such as Ice Cube the author of "Contract With Black America" and also the founder of his very own BIG 3 Basketball League. We also draw reference from The Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport (TIDES) serves as a comprehensive resource for issues related to gender and race in amateur, collegiate and professional sports and the media. The Institute researches and publishes a variety of studies, including annual studies of student-athlete graduation rates and racial attitudes in sports, as well as the internationally recognized Racial and Gender Report Card, an assessment of racial and gender hiring practices in amateur, collegiate and professional sports and the media. The Institute also monitors some of the critical ethical issues in college and professional sport, including the potential for exploitation of student-athletes, gambling, performance-enhancing drugs and violence in sport. TIDES provides consulting services on racial and gender hiring practices including researching and creating Racial and Gender Report Cards for individual sports teams, leagues, conferences and other organizations seeking our support. We hope this pair of episodes are both entertaining and informative for you all.

In this episode we discuss black leadership in sports, and things we can do to increase the representation of minorities in leadership positions. As always, we hold this space in order to consider concepts such as growth and changes like the seasons. We have indeed reached the equinox. The idea of autumn in most languages is connected with the harvesting of crops before the coming of winter; and in many cultures autumn, like the other seasons, has been marked by rites and festivals revolving around the season’s importance in food production. Animals gather food in autumn in preparation for the coming winter, and those with fur often grow thicker coats. The leaves start to fall, we change the way we dress and move, just like the many birds migrate toward the Equator to escape the falling temperatures. We hope that this new season treats you and yours well as we continue to wind down towards the end of another blessed year. Peace be unto us all.

Here's a question every podcaster should ask themselves - and their audiences - at some point during their show tenure: why do we pod? What is the main purpose of this podcast? Are we here just for jokes and giggles? Well in this episode, yet another soft release, building up towards our 3rd season mere weeks away, we ask these questions and many more. A podcast can have many purposes, but the main one is to entertain its audience. Podcast listeners might have one of several reasons to subscribe to a podcast, such as to: Hear updates and breakdowns of current events or learn about a new topic or industry. A podcast is the streaming age’s answer to radio. This space is still fairly new, and we are all still trying to carve out our own paths in this field; both as speakers, listeners, sponsors, businesses, etc. Do you have a larger purpose in the podcast space?
-
In this soft release we discuss the internet: the good, the bad, the uglier. Why do you use social media? What do you look for when you open apps like Twitter, Instagram or Tik Tok? Is it purely for the thrill of it all? Over the last decade (seemingly overnight) social media has developed into the main source of information for a huge percentage of the world's population, influencing their opinions, choices and beliefs on every topic imaginable. It helped many businesses grow and promote itself, and has helped people find a better way to connect and communicate with one another. Yet on the other hand, it's also provided many people with a plethora of problems involving mental health, emotional insecurities, and waste of time. We aim today to discuss some of the things we should look to social media for as we continue to get older. We have an obligation to the youth coming in after us to show how to operate a healthy social media space, and use it for positive reinforcement, and ridding ourselves of the toxic factors that exist in the digital space. Tune in to this discussion; also letting you all know that our 3rd season will run from the fall equinox of September 22 through December 10, 2022 - so if you are, or if you know someone, willing to spread knowledge on any given topic, profession or mindset, please let them know to come on through!

Now available for stream on Apple Podcasts! Another soft release for you guys. Season 3 is on the way and the summer is pretty much over from here. So as we enter a brand new month we continue to reflect on our goals! What is it that we really hope to accomplish day by day? What is the reason we get out of bed and head into the world? Do you have any motivation you can share with others? During this season leading up to the fall, if you're anything like me then your desire to initiate connections and build relationships is likely at an all-time high. The fall equinox is probably one of the main reasons why. The emotional meaning of the fall equinox, in particular, is about initiating relationships in a way that’s curious, social, and exciting, despite the analytical energy of Virgo season still looming in the air. This isn’t a time to second-guess yourself, though — it’s a time to go after what you want, and you have the fall equinox on your side.

Today we are talking about a lot of different things (and also previewing all the other stuff we have to dive into!) mainly about what this show has accomplished thus far, where this project is headed, and all the strives we have all made in the past couple of years since launching.
