In this episode, I talk about why i enjoy liberty training with my horses. Having spent many years being afraid of getting run over, developing the ability to send a horse around me gives me confidence and asking a horse to draw in close to me requires a lot of trust!! It also provide me with a challenge and a framework to progress. And finally, I enjoy being able to observe how my horses are moving and feeling. If you would like to have a go at liberty, join our 30 Day Liberty Challenge.
I have also just launched Liberty Horse UK, which offers a place for like minded liberty enthusiasts to train and compete. Click here to find out more

I was listening to another podcast with a chap called Jim Kwik and he talked about the 3M’s in relation to a formula for success. I started thinking about the 3M’s; methods, motivation and mindset in relation to our training. Here is my take on it.

Limiting beliefs are cheeky little critters. We don’t notice them until they’ve become established in our heads as ‘the truth’. Furthermore, the horse world is littered with beliefs about what we should and shouldn’t be doing! Have a listen and see if you can spot any that are holding you back.

Years ago when I was competing in dressage, I thought horses came with pre-installed buttons as per the German Manual and if I couldn’t find them, it was because I wasn’t good enough! I had never heard of the word cue and had even less idea how to train a behaviour and pair it with a cue! If you’re like I was back then, and would like to learn more, take a listen. You can let me know what you think by leaving a voice message!

In this episode Kaleigh shares here crazy cool story with us.
Kaleigh Marie grew up loving animals of all kinds, and developed her skills as a trainer working with horses, donkeys, mules, and oxen. Although she has had a wide range of experiences - from Roman riding oxen to training with Lipizzan stallions
Kaleigh’s true passion lies in sharing the power of connection that she has found through countless hours devoted to liberty work, softness training, and bridleless riding with her own horses, and loves helping others achieve the goals that they have with their equine partners.
Kaleigh Marie helps others discover the power of connection through clinics and lessons that improve relationships, communication, and performance both from the ground and under saddle. Her main areas of focus include liberty work, bridleless riding, softness training, dressage, and positive reinforcement.
There are still a couple of places left on the liberty and tricks clinic at Believe HQ in North Yorskhire 6-8th Sept.

We all have a worry bucket; us, our horses, our dogs. The worry bucket is a way of describing the sensitivity of our nervous system (and our horse’s!). By learning about our worry bucket, we can learn how to shape our brains and our nervous system and grow the size of the bucket. The bigger the bucket and the bigger the hole, the longer we can stay in an optimal state for learning and performance.
