To celebrate the end of New Zealand Music Month, joining bohboh radio is Tūrangi born R&B/ soul artist Jackson Owens (Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāti Awa, Te Arawa, Ngāi Tahu).
His young self was influenced by some of the greats; the likes of Otis Redding, Sam Cooke and Stevie Wonder to name a few. Modern influences though, are from artists like John Legend, H.E.R and Lucky Daye.
He breaks up a busy schedule on his press junket and drops in to talk about his debut EP ‘For The Better’, being a boy roadie and the best day of his life.

Pearl Runga is my uber talented sister who not only plays in bands The Broken and Automatic 80's, but is also helping mould our next generation into good humans at Stanmore Bay School as Deputy Principal.
She muses with me on matchy matchy outfits and growing up in the 70's, helping to navigate a school during Covid times and the perils and joys of playing keytar.

Anika Moa and I have shared the stage many times over our musical careers, and in 2020 we collaborated on a locket jewellery design for Anika to keep a lock of her Pepi Marigolds hair. That turned into the start of my Bohlab series and a full range of Marigold jewellery was released in 2021.
This year I launched bohboh, a new range that aims to bring the storytelling and sentimentality of Boh Runga Jewellery into lifestyle gifting and the home.
The popular Marigold motif was turned into a fabric for our first release of baby products, so naturally, my first guest on bohboh radio had to be Anika Moa.
In this episode we chat about growing up in Hornby, the difference between a biological father and a sperm donor, and juggling 4 kids with a very busy career.
