Every session, we record a little extra debrief and discussion after we finish the game. This is usually reserved for the Tableside edition of the podcast which is available on our Patreon. But in this one we Spout Lore that’s both interesting AND useful, so we decided to release it on the main feed for everyone to check out.
Minor spoilers for Chapter 18 of the Cyclopolis, so consider listening to that episode first.
This conversation is packed with stuff: video games and what does or doesn't translate readily to the tabletop, how to make evolving magic items, magic items as progress, how can we hit a vibe at the table, and when secrets are worth keeping between players. Plus a tiny hint of something I'm working on. There’s quite a bit to be mined here, so give it a listen.
During our talk, we mention Hard-Knock World by TroyPress. It's PWYW and definitely worth a look. Check it out here.
If you enjoy this bonus episode, check out our Patreon to get our post-session chats with every episode we put out. Plus, we’re very close to a Patreon goal that will have us starting a monthly stream with us playing, viewing, or reviewing different media and tabletop games in which we’ll discuss lessons or ideas that you can bring to your own games. We’ll also be uploading the recorded audio from those into the feed for those that can’t catch the live stream. I’m gonna call it Appendix C, I think.
Weigh in on our discussion on either Twitter, Instagram, or in the comments of this post.
If Patreon isn’t your thing check out our merch or leave us a review! We’ll send you a Discord invite no matter how you support us, just let us know and we’ll send you the link!

Despite the strange behavior of their traveling companion Kimin, Uraziti the Spellblade and Milio the Bard decide to push ahead into the Cyclopolis they fought so hard to reach. Dealing with constant mocking and opposition from the creatures that unlive there, the true nature of the Cyclopolis begins to slowly be unraveled by the party.
If you like our stuff please leave us a review and check out our Patreon! You’ll get discord access where you can chat with us and other supporters!

After being taunted by 138-Heads-On-Spikes, Milio the Bard, Uraziti the Spellblade, and Kimin the Shaman, as well as their traveling companion Navaath come face-to-skull with Tmuc, the last warrior-poet of the giants, who was cursed to eternally protect the gate of the Cyclopolis into which our party is seeking entrance.
This one gets fucking wild.
Utagawa Kuniyoshi's spellbinding ukiyo-e triptych of a gashadokuro, a giant skeleton from Japanese folklore, was absolutely a massive part of my Appendix N for this whole series. I'm in love with it. You can see it here.
Consider checking out our Patreon! You can find the full rules for the Tropaion custom move and the magic items everyone received on there! Plus discord access, session debriefs, and more.

Milio the Bard, Uraziti the Spellblade, and Kimin the Shaman, along with their companion Navaath, tackle some skeletal chariot riders guarding a massive tropaion in the center of an ancient battlefield drenched in the blood of armies.
Then we do some custom move stuff!
And then the party finds themselves suddenly face-to-face with the end...
And that end's face? It's an asshole.

Kimin the Shaman, Milio the Bard, and Uraziti the Spellblade, along with their companion Navaath follow the directions given to them by the Death monk last session on their way to find the Cyclopean city at the heart of the Vulturelands. But on their travels, they come under the watchful eye of someone rather intimidating.
Ryan may sound a little weird about halfway through this one - more recording issues on the original, so we had to rerecord the back half. But at least you can understand him this way!

We also have stickers and tshirts available!

It’s that time again, where the gang gets back together and plays another system we are all excited about. This time around we are playing Jason Cordova’s The Between. I think this game is an absolute blast and I hope you have fun following our heroes through the strange streets of Victorian London. For Session 1 we get the characters set up, but in no time we are on our feet and hitting the ground running exploring a great mystery plaguing the city. Cheers!

Kimin the Bard, Uraziti the Spellblade, and Milio the Bard, along with their new elven companion Navaath, decide to intervene in a fight between some Death cultists (see the illustration Zach references in the recording down below) and some pale, gaunt creatures in the hope of earning their favor. But dealing with religious zealots is, ah, complicated. And Kimin learns some dreadful news. Lotta RP work in this one!
We mention Ryan's character from Series VI, Ozier. You can find that series here.

Milio the Bard, Kimin the Shaman, and Uraziti the Spellblade debate whether to allow a former foe to travel with them. Then the party continues their way in the Vulturelands toward a cult's cloister, trying to cross a bridge that has broken to pieces with time. And of course, nothing is easy, so they don't attempt the crossing without resistance.
Please consider checking out our Patreon! Bonus episodes are coming that way soon!

After leaving their less-than-friendly new acquaintances, Uraziti the Spellblade, Milio the Bard, and Kimin the Shaman find themselves overlooking a mysterious pit, unsure of how, or if, to look down within its depths. Despite their fear, they press onward, and find an ancient remnant of an ancient people thought lost.
Though tensions stay high between the party members, they venture across the edge of the Vulturelands, finding their path blocked, but now by the unstoppable forces of time.
Check out our Patreon here! We’re getting close to our next goal, so please consider supporting us with your money if you can! During this recording, we pitched the greatest indie video game of all time, and if you back us, you can get access to tableside version of the game and hear it! You can also gain access to our members-only discord, our notes, and you can vote on upcoming C-Sides with a new poll coming shortly! Plus more!
You can also show your support by leaving a review somewhere on the internet and letting us know about it, which we’d absolutely love to see! You’ll get a shout out on the next Dragon’s Den (and we’ll give you Discord access, too)! I’ve used too many exclamation marks for my comfort!

Kimin the Shaman, Uraziti the Spellblade, and Milio the Bard spend the afternoon getting to know their welcoming but mysterious elven hosts, Qo'okal and Navaath. But tension between the party bleeds over to their conversations with the elves as the topic turns toward the mechanisms near the edge of the ridge and knowledge the elves do not wish to share...
Please check out our Patreon here! We’re aiming to bring more content to both the main feed and our Patreon feed this year! We’ll give you more details and things get closer, but expect some extra special C-Sides coming soon! And we want to keep growing and your support will help us do so!
If you don’t want to or can’t support us through Patreon, no worries! We’d love for you to review us wherever you get your podcast! It makes a big difference!
Thanks!
You can also find our merch here if you want a sweet shirt or stickers! And here's our twitter and instagram. I'm gonna try to post on both of them more often!
Sorry about the stinger on this one...

Kimin the Shaman, Milio the Bard, and Uraziti the Spellblade have narrowly survived a fight with the local, not-quite-alive locals in the Vulturelands. Milio and Uraziti debate who should scout for camp as tensions remain high within our traveling party - which leads to a struggle out of the darkness. Then, Kimin grapples with his proud spirit becoming unmoored from his material body. After an invigorating meal and a good night's rest (as well as some leveling up), they continue onward toward a hint of civilazation. Hopefully what they find there will prove more hospitable than their last encounter...
Please consider backing us on Patreon! Your support will help us focus more on creating content, with upcoming exclusive 1-on-1 games and game read-throughs. For becoming a patron, you’ll get access to our Discord, the ability to vote on upcoming C-Sides, as well as free use of the compendium class we created for Uraziti in this episode: The Acolyte of Smoke. Our patron-only version of this episode includes discussion about character motivation in the face of horrible things along with more banter, discussion about custom moves, commentary on the game, and more!
As always, you can follow us on Twitter and Instagram. And you can buy shirts or stickers on our store page! -
Our hiatus from Series IX is over! Welcome back to the Vulturelands! And this episode is a doozy.
Milio the Bard, Kimin the Shaman, and Uraziti the Spellblade have reunited, despite the party being split across different dimensions. There is some tension between our adventurers which takes an emotional toll and drags the party's cohesion and morale down. But as they venture forth through the Vulturelands, they quickly realize there are much more dangerous problems than the issues they have with each other. Sometimes you have to put differences aside to work together.
But that doesn't guarantee the dice are going to agree with them...
If you enjoy what we do and would like to support us, check out our Patreon! You’ll be able to vote on upcoming C-Sides and can chat with us on our Discord. You can also get another feed with extended episodes including more jokes and session discussions, as well as the occasional bonus episode.

This is the conclusion of our second Trophy Gold series with Jason Cordova! While you don’t need to have listened to our previous series, Hester’s Mill, to understand this one, I highly recommend you check it out.
Lord Dion, Bruno, Zabatu, and Ezio have made their way into the Rime Palace and survived the life-or-death games being played there. But as they continue lower toward the deep towers of the upside-down, hanging palace and meet the upper echelons of the fae court, they soon learn that it's not just games that are deadly-serious in the Rime Palace, but every aspect of courtly life.
For more information about Trophy, or to purchase this excellent system, check their website here.
You can follow Jason on twitter, and check out The Gauntlet’s website and Patreon.

Ezio, Zabatu, Sgt. Bruno Ilicik, and Lord Dion Devanos, along with their new companion Iditha are carried by the bone ship Ardken through the Gossamer Void to the Rime Palace. While the journey has been strange, their destination holds stranger mysteries still. But also some familiar faces…
