नारद जी, जो हमेशा शिव भक्ति में रमे रहते हैं, ब्रह्माजी से भगवान शिव की महिमा सुनने की प्रार्थना करते हैं। ब्रह्माजी ने नारद जी को बताया कि कैसे एक बार सभी देवता और ऋषि क्षीरसागर तट पर भगवान विष्णु के पास पहुंचे और उनसे दुखों को दूर करने का उपाय पूछा।भगवान विष्णु ने उन्हें बताया कि सभी समस्याओं का समाधान केवल भगवान शिव हैं। उनकी भक्ति से ही मनुष्य के सभी कष्ट दूर होते हैं। शिवलिंग की पूजा से मनुष्य को भौतिक और आध्यात्मिक सुखों की प्राप्ति होती है, और अंत में मोक्ष का मार्ग खुलता है।
भगवान विष्णु द्वारा शिवलिंग की स्थापना
इंद्र को पद्मराग मणि का लिंग। कुबेर को स्वर्ण का। धर्मराज को पुन्नाग का। विष्णु को इंद्रनील मणि का। ब्रह्माजी को हेमद्रव का।
भगवान विष्णु ने देवताओं को शिवलिंग की पूजा का महत्व बताया और विश्वकर्मा को सभी देवताओं के लिए विशेष शिवलिंग बनाने का आदेश दिया। इन शिवलिंगों को देवताओं को सौंपा गया—
और इसी प्रकार अन्य देवताओं और ऋषियों को उनके अनुसार शिवलिंग प्रदान किए गए।शिव पूजा का महत्व
भगवान विष्णु ने कहा कि शिवलिंग की पूजा न केवल मनोकामनाएं पूर्ण करती है, बल्कि जन्म-जन्मांतर के पापों को भी नष्ट करती है। जैसे वृक्ष की जड़ में पानी डालने से उसकी सभी शाखाएं तृप्त हो जाती हैं, वैसे ही शिवलिंग की पूजा से सभी इच्छाएं पूरी होती हैं।ब्रह्माजी ने भी शिव पूजा की विधि और भक्ति का महत्व समझाया। उन्होंने कहा कि—
शिव भक्ति से शरीर, मन, और आत्मा की शुद्धि होती है। यह मनुष्य को अज्ञान और माया के बंधनों से मुक्त कर, शिवत्व प्रदान करती है।शिव की भक्ति: सुख और मोक्ष का साधन

इस कथा में शिव पूजन की विधि और फल प्राप्ति का वर्णन किया गया है। सूत जी ने ऋषियों को भगवान शिव की पूजा विधि बताई, जो व्यास जी से सनत्कुमार जी ने सीखी थी और फिर उपमन्यु जी ने भगवान श्रीकृष्ण को इसे सुनाया। इस विधि के अनुसार शिव पूजन दरिद्रता, रोग, दुख और शत्रुजनित पीड़ा का नाश करती है और जीवन में सुख-संपत्ति, स्वास्थ्य, संतान तथा शांति की प्राप्ति का मार्ग खोलती है।
शिव पूजन की विधि:
सुबह की तैयारी: ब्रह्ममुहूर्त में उठकर गुरु और भगवान शिव का स्मरण करें। फिर अपनी जाति अनुसार गीता और शरीर की शुद्धि के लिए जल व मिट्टी का उपयोग करें।
दातुन और स्नान: दातुन से मुख शुद्ध करें, परंतु विशेष दिनों (अमावस्या, नवमी, आदि) में न करें। जलाशय में स्नान कर संध्या वंदन करें।
पूजा का प्रारंभ: गणेश पूजन के बाद शिवजी की स्थापना करें। तीन आचमन और प्राणायाम के साथ शिव जी का ध्यान करें।
पूजा सामग्री तैयार करें: कलश में जल, कुशा, चंदन, गंध, धूप, दीप, फूल आदि लेकर भगवान शिव का विधिपूर्वक पूजन आरंभ करें।
शिव का अभिषेक: ओंकार मंत्र से शिवजी का आवाहन कर पाद्य, अर्घ्य, और पंचामृत (दूध, दही, घी, गन्ने का रस और घृत) से अभिषेक करें। इसके बाद शुद्ध जल से शिवलिंग का स्नान कराएं। विशेष मंत्रों के साथ जलधारा बनाए रखें।
पूजन मंत्र: पवित्र मंत्र जैसे रुद्र मंत्र, मृत्युंजय मंत्र, पंचाक्षर मंत्र से शिव की आराधना करें।
पूजा का समापन: भगवान शिव के चरणों में फूल अर्पित कर, धूप-दीप व नैवेद्य अर्पित करें। क्षमा याचना कर आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करें और हर जन्म में शिव भक्ति की प्रार्थना करें।
शिव पूजन का फल:
जो भक्त शिव की भक्ति व पूजा करता है, उसे मनोवांछित फलों की प्राप्ति होती है, रोग-दुखों से मुक्ति मिलती है और कल्याण होता है। शिव भक्ति से सद्गुणों का विकास होता है और व्यक्ति को मोक्ष की प्राप्ति होती है।
नारद का अभिभूत होना: नारद मुनि ब्रह्माजी से यह विधि जानकर अत्यंत प्रसन्न हुए और उनके प्रति कृतज्ञता प्रकट की। शिव भक्ति समस्त भोग और मोक्ष प्रदान करने का माध्यम है।

Lily is a 25-year-old actress from Kent who has recently completed filming her debut short film in America, titled "Untouchable," written and directed by Adam Lapallo. In this film, she portrays Jillian Freeman, a teenage fencer, showcasing her skill with both the American accent and the foil.
Beginning her acting journey on the theatre stage, Lily has performed in beloved musicals such as "The Sound of Music" and "Les Misérables." She has also taken on classical roles in Shakespearean plays like "The Tempest" (as Gonzalo) with Car Crash Productions and "Romeo and Juliet" (as Juliet).
Last December, she toured with Tale Spin Theatre's production of "Jack and the Beanstalk."
Expanding her talents into voice acting, Lily contributed to the Choices Audio Project directed by Seralina Powers and aspires to delve deeper into this field. She trained at the UK drama school East 15, earning a Foundation degree, and performed in plays directed by Susan Tordorf, Charlotte Tompson-Lillie, and Richard Graham.
Outside of acting, Lily enjoys reading fantasy novels with a good cup of coffee or tea. She embraces her nerdy side by writing and playing Dungeons and Dragons games with friends and participating in LARP events. Recently, she qualified as a basic level Core Fencing Coach, teaching children the fundamentals of foil fencing, and looks forward to further developing her coaching skills.

शिव और विष्णु को एक-दूसरे का पूरक बताते हुए, शिव ने कहा कि दोनों में कोई अंतर नहीं है और जो उनकी निंदा करेगा, उसे नरक का सामना करना पड़ेगा। शिव ने विष्णु के साथ अपना संबंध मजबूत करते हुए, उन्हें आशीर्वाद दिया और उन्हें हर संकट में सहायता करने का वचन दिया।
इसके बाद, भगवान शिव ने ब्रह्मा, विष्णु, और रुद्र की आयु और कालचक्र का वर्णन किया, जो सृष्टि की व्यापकता और शिव की शाश्वतता को दर्शाता है। इस संवाद के अंत में शिव अंतर्धान हो गए और उसी क्षण से लिंग पूजा का आरंभ हुआ।

शिव पुराण : यह अध्याय भगवान शिव और देवी उमा के प्राकट्य और उनके उपदेशों पर केंद्रित है। जब भगवान विष्णु ने शिव की स्तुति की, तब भगवान शिव देवी उमा सहित प्रकट हुए। शिवजी का दिव्य स्वरूप, जिसमें उनके पांच मुख, त्रिनेत्र, मस्तक पर चंद्रमा, जटा, और अंगों पर विभूति का वर्णन है, अत्यंत मोहित करने वाला था। उनके साथ भगवती उमा भी थीं।
ब्रह्मा और विष्णु ने पुनः उनकी स्तुति की, जिससे प्रसन्न होकर शिवजी ने उन्हें वेद और गूढ़ ज्ञान का उपदेश दिया। विष्णुजी ने भगवान शिव से पूछा कि उन्हें किस प्रकार प्रसन्न किया जा सकता है और पूजा का सही तरीका क्या है। तब शिवजी ने बताया कि ब्रह्मा, विष्णु और रुद्र उनके अंगों से प्रकट हुए हैं। ब्रह्मा सृष्टि करें, विष्णु पालन करें और रुद्र संहार करें।
शिवजी ने बताया कि वे सगुण और निर्गुण, सत्चिदानंद, और परमात्मा हैं। वे स्वयं सृष्टि, पालन और संहार के कर्ता हैं, और इन्हीं कार्यों के लिए उन्होंने ब्रह्मा, विष्णु और रुद्र के तीन रूप धारण किए हैं। उन्होंने यह भी स्पष्ट किया कि तीनों देवताओं में भेद नहीं करना चाहिए, क्योंकि वे एक ही शिवस्वरूप के विभिन्न रूप हैं। देवी उमा को शिवजी ने प्रकृति और शक्ति का प्रतीक बताया, जिनसे सरस्वती, लक्ष्मी और काली उत्पन्न हुईं।
अध्याय के अंत में शिवजी ने विष्णु को सृष्टि का पालन करने की आज्ञा दी, और उन्हें तीनों लोकों में पूजनीय बताया।

शिव पुराण हिंदू धर्म में अठारह पुराणों में सबसे अधिक पढ़ा जाने वाला पुराण है। यह सनातन भगवान शिव और उनकी पत्नी देवी पार्वती के चारों ओर केंद्रित है। भगवान शिव सनातन धर्म में सबसे अधिक पूजे जाने वाले भगवानों में से एक हैं।
शिव महापुराण में सात 'संहिताएं' शामिल हैं जो भगवान शिव के जीवन के विभिन्न पहलुओं का एक ज्वलंत विवरण प्रदान करती हैं।
शिवमहापुराण की दूसरी संहिता रुद्र संहिता है। रुद्र संहिता के पांच खंड हैं। प्रथम खंड में बीस अध्याय हैं। दूसरे खंड को सती खंड कहा गया है, जिसमें 43 अध्याय हैं। तीसरा खंड पार्वती खंड है, जिसमें 55 अध्याय हैं। चौथा खंड कुमार खंड के नाम से जाना जाता है, जिसमें 20 अध्याय हैं। इस संहिता का पांचवां खंड युद्ध खंड के नाम से जाना जाता है, जिसमें कुल 59 अध्याय हैं। इसी संहिता में 'सृष्टि खण्ड' के अन्तर्गत जगत का आदि कारण शिव को माना गया है। शिव से ही आद्या शक्ति 'माया' का आविर्भाव होता है, फिर शिव से ही 'ब्रह्मा' और 'विष्णु' की उत्पत्ति बताई गई है। इस पुराण में 24,000 श्लोक हैं तथा इसके क्रमशः 6 खंड हैं।
