Pour yourself a cup of coffee or tea, enjoy a sweet treat, and dig in!
This episode is for you and your foodie friends! In our conversation with Chef Danielle, you’ll not only crave a big (carb-filled) brunch, but you’ll also crave taking action towards your biggest dreams. Danielle shares all of her creative cravings: bringing friends, family, and followers joy through food, cooking Italian family recipes, entertaining her followers on social media, and growing her baked goods business nationwide. We can’t wait for you to learn how her Grandma Rosemarie inspired her to become the “bada$$ baking boss” that she is today. Danielle’s story of turning some lemons in her life into a thriving business is truly inspiring.
Tune in to hear how we (co-hosts and exec producers, Sari and Lauren) ended up meeting Danielle in NYC, Danielle’s 3 ingredients for living life to the fullest, all about a new secret project she’s working on, behind the scenes from filming The Big Brunch, and the unconventional way she sometimes comes up with new recipes for The Hungry Gnome. She even blesses us all with some pro baking tips, and shares who she’d love to brunch with one day! Catch her making us laugh with some “Long Island Mom” phrases at the end of the episode. You may even want to take notes as you listen — this one is full of recommendations to cross off of your food bucket list in Chicago, New York, and beyond. Enjoy!

Food for Thought (Shownotes):
Today’s fun and meaningful episode with co-hosts Sari and Lauren will have you craving ice cream and will boost your craving to make a soulful impact on others in your own unique way.
Are you one of the 3+ million people who now follow Amanda Gorman after being moved by her original poem? We are both very inspired by her and her work, so we named part of this episode after a line in her poem, which also embodies the mission of Creative Cravings podcast. Through the lens of creative expression, we dive into our thoughts on the events of Inauguration 2021 and we share our perspectives on celebrating small and big moments.
Why did we personally create this episode? Because communicating through this podcast is one of the ways we get to express ourselves and create art that imitates life. We’re excited to be “twin tastemakers” and share with you some cool ways other creators have been inspired by the her-story making events, from food to fashion to illustration.
Ready to co-create a movement together?! Join in to be a meaningful part of our #bethelightchallenge2021 inspired by Amanda Gorman’s powerful poem.
Share this episode with anyone who would love to eat some White House Chocolate Chip ice cream with you, while chatting about chasing your cravings in life.
Ways to take inspired action from this episode:
Support Creative Cravings while donating to Lindsey Stirling’s The Upside Fund, through the end of February (our bday month)! You can specifically contribute to our show all year round, and we look forward to choosing another charity later in the year.
Join our #bethelightchallenge2021 (inspired by Amanda’s poem) on @creative.cravings Instagram or on Facebook
Here’s how it works:
On your Instagram or Facebook, post a photo of you with someone who brings light or has brought light to your life. Feel free to write whatever you’d like in your caption, but please make sure to include #bethelightchallenge2021. Also, be sure to tag @creative.cravings in your caption so we can see it and be sure to tag the person mentioned in your post, so they know that you’re thinking of them.
Share your original post to your Story, and tag someone you wish to spread some light to (this is the person you are nominating). This is how you will “pass the torch” and keep it going!
Example:
I post of photo of me with my mom (or one of me and one of my mom). Caption: “My mom is a light in this pandemic because she’s a hardworking dentist who wears ton of PPE to protect herself, staff, family, and her patients.” I tag @creative.cravings so we both see it, and tag her so she can see it.
After posting, I share it to my Story and tag Lauren to nominate her to spread the light!
Make as many posts as you’d like and tag anyone who lights up your life! Could be a mentor, friend, someone who’s podcast or work you admire, a pet, anyone who makes you laugh, someone who inspires you… We hope to build a community of inspiring people who are bringing light to one another, through this hashtag #bethelightchallenge2021!
If social media isn’t’ your thing — we share an alternative idea in this episode for how to participate in a different, special way!
Sign up for Creative Cravings newsletter to find out soon how to celebrate 2 years of the podcast (and our 29th birthdays!)
Feel free to introduce yourself in our Creative Cravings Community Facebook Group! Did you, too, get to try Jeni’s Ice Creams limited edition White House Chocolate Chip? Let us know!
Boost your energy with our Spotify playlist, curated by us (your show hosts), our guests, and YOU, our listeners!

Usually we are hanging out with Rebekah as students in her Chicago-based Zumba class, but today we got to catch up via Zoom to learn about her ingredients for living life to the fullest, to dive deep into her self-care practices (in honor of May being Mental Health Awareness Month), to explore the connection between wellness & creativity, and discuss all of our cravings — from freely expressing ourselves through latin rhythms in Zumba and breathing / moving through element-based, Kinrgy (expanded fitness by Julianne Hough), to our love of charcuterie and cheese boards, global flavors that transport us, and matcha!
Her story will remind you that it’s up to you to “live your life on purpose, instead of by pattern.” This episode is for you if you are someone who has moved by yourself to a new place, or, you have taken a leap of faith to follow an opportunity not knowing if it would work out, or you’ve opened up to others about something personal, or you just love to dance and express yourself through movement.
A few months ago, right before the pandemic escalated, Rebekah joined Julianne, 9 other soulful dancers, and Oprah (yes, that Oprah!) on stages around the U.S. to guide tens of thousands of people through Kinrgy, which she created to help you “connect to yourself from the inside out” so we can all better relate to one another.

LIVE, from Hollywood, this is Dancing with the Stars!!!
(Oh wait, that’s not our show…!)
LIVE, to your earbuds, THIS is Creative Cravings podcast! featuring multi-talented dancing champion & professional storyteller, Valentin (Val) Chmerkovskiy!
It was such a joy for us to video chat with Val a couple weeks ago, and it’s surreal to release this episode after putting in so many hours of hard work to produce this entertaining, meaningful show.
In today’s episode, Val talks with us about all of his cravings: from his love of Italian cuisine, to his cravings to express himself through dance, music, and writing after spending his early years in Odessa, Ukraine, to his craving to be the very best teacher & coach he can be. And, he dishes out his secret ingredients for living a healthy, fulfilling life!
We had a lot of fun connecting over what it’s like to create with your sibling, too! In Val’s case, he has inspired, educated, and entertained millions, and has created extraordinary dance shows with his older brother, Maksim (Maks) Chmerkovskiy, like the OUR WAY Tour. They may be 6 years apart, and we may be twins, but the dynamic of working together seems eerily similar…

Today’s episode with co-hosts Sari and Lauren, “Let’s Taco ‘bout Joy, Gratitude, and Belonging” is inspired by Dr. Brené Brown’s Netflix special and by real feelings about trying to find the light in a world of negative news. Tragedies around the world, whether near or far, affect us all deeply and take a toll on our mental health, so let’s have conversations that matter during May, Mental Health Awareness month.
Dig in to this Cinco de Mayo episode of Creative Cravings to hear our perspective on Brené’s meaningful yet light-hearted and funny motivational talk, where she shares many essential ingredients for living life to the fullest.
We share some personal stories about some joyful moments when we both felt a feeling of belonging (hint: it involves being in the studio audience of a local Chicago talk show), we encourage you to “Take 5” and write down what you’re grateful for in this moment, and we invite you to ask us questions about being identical twins!
YOU — our listeners and our guests — truly make this show our happy place, and we hope it’s becoming yours, as well. What experiences in your life spark joy, gratitude, and a sense of belonging for you?

How did today’s podcast guest, Jacqueline Poirier, known as @thecrazyplatelady, go from drawing on the walls as a kid, to creating a thesis on circles, to getting paid to paint on porcelain plates (circular canvases) around the world? Besides her constant craving to be creative, what are her 3 ingredients for living life to the fullest as an artist?
Jaqueline Poirier is The Crazy Plate Lady / Resident Artist at The Ritz Carlton in Toronto, Canada where her hand painted charger plates are showcased throughout TOCA, the hotel’s signature restaurant. She is also an Instagram featured artist, and she chases her cravings to create by collaborating with brands and other creators, and by creating custom pieces for clients. She always squeezes in time to create just for herself, something that truly makes her happy.
Dig in to this episode of Creative Cravings to see why we all agree that “you can’t spell C.R.E.A.T.E , with out E.A.T.” You will not only be inspired to either let your inner artist out or to continue on your path as an artist, but you will also gain some helpful suggestions on ways you can turn your art into a business, as an entrepreneur. Her life-like style of #plart (plates + art) does not just speak for itself, but it actually sparks conversations around tables, across the globe.
It’s true! We could not stop talking about how much we were craving one of her painted slices of cheesecake. And, she shares with us all which food she’s most craving that she’s painted on a plate. Our conversation will bring a smile to your face, especially if you were you the kind of kid who would draw on the walls, create DIY costumes for Halloween, and always got your hands dirty with finger paint. Most of all, Jacqueline will help you remember to embrace the kid-at-heart within you, to jump on opportunities to showcase the work you love doing, and to share your special creative gifts. Bon appétit!
Food for Thought mentioned in this podcast episode:
How did Jacqueline come up with or get her name, The Crazy Plate Lady?
How her creative process doesn’t stop when she puts the paintbrush down
Who does she want to paint next, on a plate?
Ways you can grow your business as an artist or creative entrepreneur
Why is art important in the world?
How creating a brand around a specialty still allows you to pivot and to expand your horizons
Where is the craziest place she’s ever painted a plate? What’s next on her bucket list?
Thoughts on how exploring a new place inspires her and improves her creativity
She shares recommendations for exploring the Toronto area of Canada & asks for Hawaii recommendations!

How can you help our planet today, while also achieving more self growth? Today's guest conversation will leave you feeling ready to embrace change in your industry and to cultivate a fulfilling lifestyle aligned with your values.
“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” - Lao Tzu
Take a moment to let that soak in. Self growth works a lot like nature. It's not an overnight process. But isn't the long process of embracing change worth it when it leads you to who and where you want to be?
In today’s conversation with Chicago-based beauty business owner, Sheri Cox, you will learn how paying close attention to what you naturally gravitate towards in your life can help you to cultivate a fulfilling lifestyle. For Sheri, that is taking care of Mother Earth.
That process may require big lifestyle changes, and Sheri knows first-hand that starting with small shifts like “a juice or smoothie a day” does lead to clarity and more things falling into place.
We discuss why Sheri transitioned to an environmentally-conscious lifestyle while working in the beauty industry and how decluttering her wardrobe, her Instagram, and her mind allows her to live life to the fullest! We also chat about the evolution of her 20-year career as an eyebrow expert and makeup artist. This episode will help you curate a social media feed that inspires you and will empower you to chase not only your artistic cravings but also those bigger life cravings.
Tune in to find out where Sheri most loves to travel and where she craves going next! Have you already checked ‘em off of your travel bucket list? Let us know.
In honor of Earth Day, we give you an easy Earth Day challenge, so we ALL can celebrate our beautiful Mother Nature together.
Food for Thought mentioned in this podcast episode:
Earth Day Challenge: Try to replace something that you throw out a lot, like a coffee cup. Practice getting into a routine of bringing a reusable cup with you wherever you go. And/or choose a creative DIY project that allows you to upcycle something!

This week’s episode is full of fun food for thought for you to bring to the table as you feast during Passover and Easter. We have four questions for you to ask and answer while spending time with family and friends, all to help you celebrate your creative freedom this spring.
We both answer these 4 questions live on air, to help you learn more about each of us and to help you brainstorm your own answers. Enjoy!
Food for Thought mentioned in this podcast episode:
Sari & Lauren have a way for you to support the show! Head to ko-fi.com/sariandlauren to buy each of us some coffee (you bet we both need that caffeine for late nights of editing!)
We share with you 4 questions to bring to your holiday meals this year:
1. If you could invite anyone, who would you bring with you to your Passover Seder, or Easter feasts, and why?
2. What song inspires you to live your life to the fullest?
3. What’s next on your food & travel bucket lists? When can you make those plans happen? Who’s joining you?
4. What creative cravings do you have? Are you chasing them, or have you put them on hold, because of “being too busy?”
Freedom is a theme of the Passover story, so we talk a bit about the importance of creative freedom and self-expression (more on that here in the article we co-wrote)
