Are you busy busy busy serving many people when the most important guest in your home (JESUS) is just waiting for your listening ear and your attention? We are all guilty of "Martha syndrome" at times. However, did you know that even Jesus got weary? Even Jesus told His disciples that they needed to take time to come apart and rest? Without that refreshing time away, we are all prone to spiritual fatigue and burnout. Many think, "Well I just need a vacation!" But sometimes even our recreation and vacation time can leave us more weary than when we started. But if we are willing to step away from all the world offers and just get away alone with God in nature for a time, we will discover some amazing blessings that God is just waiting to pour out upon us. Well it has obviously been awhile since I've shared a podcast. I have to admit that I had "Martha" syndrome, sort of, and I needed a break. You all have probably been wondering where I've been. In this episode, I will catch you up on why I chose to step away and I will share some surprising places God has taken me in His Word as He's drawn my heart closer to Him. I pray that the lessons He's been teaching me can also be a blessing and an encouragement to all of you! Sometimes we just need to turn off the phone, close the computer, tune out life's busy distractions... and step away for some extended time alone with God in nature!

What if we ran from sin as much as we run from catching “Lepro-C”? Can you imagine how different our world would be? We’d probably be in heaven already! Being sick is no fun, but at some point over the last two years we’ve probably all experienced the dreaded disease called “Lepro-C” in some shape or form. But did you know that there’s something even worse than Lepro-C that we need to be on guard for? In this weeks podcast, I share a little about my current experience with “Lepro-C” and the spiritual leprosy that we especially need healing from. While this may not be the best recording, and my energy is low, I pray that by sharing, what the enemy has intended to use to knock me down will instead be used to lift others up for God’s glory. Truly God works every trial, every disease, every sickness (even Lepro-C) together for our good.

In this week’s podcast, I share an inspirational glimpse into something that was happening behind the scenes during the 61st General Conference session in St. Louis Missouri. It was a beautiful prayer room where hundreds of us dug deeply into God’s Word, where we prayed together, we sang together, and we experienced God’s rich blessings together in answer to prayer. In this podcast you will hear a few different voices as well as some inspiring thoughts my friend Charissa Torossian shared on day for worship. Please join your prayers with ours as we seek for deeper consecration to our beautiful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Have you ever wondered if you will succeed at being that “perfect Christian” God has called you to be this side of heaven?? Well, don’t despair! I have good news to share in this week’s podcast. Make sure you are sitting down and you have your Bible and a pen and paper nearby! When you are ready, push play and buckle up your seatbelt for an encouraging adventure. As you listen my prayer is that you would “know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Eph. 3:16-19) The reality is that there is no need to fall short anymore when all FULLNESS in Jesus is awaiting you.

Does it sometimes feel like everything is going wrong in your life? I don't feel that way very often, but occasionally there are those days... days where it feels like everything is falling apart. As we face those crazy wild days, let's keep our heavenly glasses on so we have that heavenly perspective. I will share what that looks like in this week's podcast. I also love the amazing testimony that my friend and mentor, Jerry Page just shared during staff worship this past week. Remember, no matter what the enemy is throwing against you, God is still in control and He is with you in every trial. "And we know that all things work together for good to those that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose." (Rom. 8:28) Keep your eyes on Jesus friends! God is at work in every trial.

Have you heard it said, "Don't sweat the small stuff, because, well, it's all small stuff?" At face value, that sounds like great advice. But what does that really mean? And how do you think Jesus handled the small tiny details of life? Were they important to Him? Did they matter? Did the little people in His life matter?? This week's podcast is a "tribute" of sorts to several people who have showed me how significant the small details of life are, and what it means to live for the glory of God even when no one is looking. As I’ve heard it said, “The way we live in private determines the ministry we can have in public!” I encourage you to think long and hard on this. At times we may be tempted to skip corners, to do less than our best because, after all, no one is watching, but the Bible says, "Whether you eat or drink or whatsoever you do, do all to the glory of God." (1 Cor. 10:31) So let's not to rush over the seemingly small and insignificant details—details like taking time to pray, time to be in God’s Word, and time to be faithful even when no one sees. When it comes to being successful in ministry, the small stuff matters. In fact, it not only matters, but I think the way we handle the little things of life, and the "little people" of life, may be one of the truest tests of character. Let’s do all to the glory of God.

Do you sometimes feel that your heart is getting a little stony and hard? You want to be praising God, you want to be thankful, but instead of gratefulness all that seems to bubble out is grumbling! You want to be at peace with those around you, but instead of joy and peace, you have irritation or hurt. We desperately need God to change our hearts! In this weeks podcast, I share about who Jesus is as our solid ROCK and how He can break our hard stony hearts and make them soft, then…. Don’t miss this… He can make them strong again—strong as stone. What do I mean? Well, listen to this podcast and you will find out!

Any book worms in my audience? Well actually, you don’t have to be a book worm to be captivated by these incredible testimonies. Once you start reading any one of these books, you won’t be able to put the book down!! If you are wanting to grow faith or looking for faith building stories of those who literally hung their very life on God’s Word, these five resources are some of the best! “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Rev. 12:11 These testimonies could become ours someday, if we too are willing to stay committed (at all cost) to God’s Word.

Trouble may be looming on your horizon. Maybe it’s an unexpected life threatening illness, difficulty at work, a broken relationship, or maybe it’s genuine religious persecution such as I share about in this episode. Whatever the case, let’s pray that God would help us see the trials and challenges that come across our path not just as times of trouble but as times of PROMISE—opportunities for God to show us His true character and His great love. In this podcast I also share about a fun adventure we had this week, and the lessons God taught me as I watched young children playing joyfully in a beautiful Ozark mountain cave. My prayer as you listen to this episode is that you too will be encouraged to throw yourself with joy on the solid Rock… the Rock that will not move, and will not be shaken no matter the storms you face.

True success in the Christian life is not about always having it all together. True success is experienced when in our weakness and neediness, we keep throwing ourselves upon Jesus and His perfect strength. When you are running on empty and looking for the nearest exit, where do you go? When you are going through trials and temptations, where do you turn? We all go through challenges and times of testing, we all struggle. And in this week’s podcast I’m once again very real sharing about those daily challenges and struggles. I haven't arrived. But I'm on the journey, same as you, and Jesus is enough! I pray this week's podcast speaks to your heart in a profound way as I share fresh lessons on the sufficiency of His grace. Don't try to pretend you are strong in your own strength. Stop looking at self. Look to Jesus, and drink deeply of the River of living water! Drink and be full. You too, can be a river of living water as the Holy Spirit flows through your life. That’s God’s promise (see John 7:37. ) All for His glory!

Did you know that trials are actually fertilizer for our soul and character if we submit to God in the midst of them? Yep! God allows them for a reason and they will be used to grow us for His glory if we allow His way in our life! John 15:2 tells, “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” That pruning hurts sometimes! Trials aren’t fun! They stink, just like that stinky cow manure we put on our garden. But God has a purpose for each stinky trial. It’s fertilizer for our soul. So, take heart. If you’re in the midst of the trials, it’s because God sees gold worth refining in YOU! In the end we will all be glad for the way He has led us! Job 23:10 reminds us, “But He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.”

How do you respond when you've been wounded? Are you quick to forgive, or do you struggle letting things go. As I learned in my own life this past week, pride often gets in the way of forgiveness. Because pride feels the need to stand its ground. It feels the need to defend itself. It feels the need to make the other party suffer as we have suffered. And yet we are told, "If pride and selfishness were put aside, five minutes would solve most difficulties." All I can say is, "Lord forgive us for our pride and for being so slow to forgive." This week God taught me an important lesson about forgiveness during my time in a nearby cow pasture, and I believe some of the lessons He taught me, He's also wanting to teach each one of us. I pray you are blessed, and if so, please share this podcast with others.

“BEWARE of the barrenness of a busy life,” wrote Corrie Ten Boom. How timely! Is the constant "go go go" of life wearing you thin? Do you find yourself struggling to juggle the demands of life, of family, of ministry, of everything pressing in, and at the same time struggling to squeeze in meaningful quality time with God? Well, if you haven’t discovered yet, we can’t juggle the demands of life successfully if we are trying to do it in or own strength without first having that quality time! Time with Jesus has to be central, and foundational, to everything we do and everything we are. Look at it this way. If we are trying to put a bunch of sand and a bunch of big rocks in a jar, they will never all fit unless we put the big rocks in first. Then we can pour the sand in afterwards. The big rocks are the non-negotiable significant parts of our life that we can't do without... quality time with God, time with our family, work, eating, sleeping, etc. The sand is all the daily mundane nitty gritty that comes along and tries to absorb our time. The nitty gritty isn't bad. It's just daily life! But it will rob us of the best thing, and that is Jesus, if we don't keep our priorities straight. Don't think I'm just preaching to you all here though. I'm preaching to myself! I've sometimes been so busy that I've been rushed and feeling the "Frazzle." That's one reason for this be-lated podcast. But God called me this weekend, to step aside from all that I "needed to do" and come away with Him! He's calling you as well! Come away my dear friend, come away with Jesus and be refreshed!

Do you ever struggle with that voice in your head that tells you that you are not good enough, you're a failure, or that you cannot be saved? If you don't struggle, perhaps you know someone in your life who does. Whatever the case, this podcast is for you. It's all about what it means to live by God's Word and to speak His truth in the place of the enemy's lies. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life... and He has an answer for every accusation that the great Deceiver makes against us. Don't believe those lies any longer. Look with hope to the truths of God's Word. He comes to set the captives free! He comes to set you and me free. And He does that through the power of His Word.

If you didn’t hear part I of this powerful testimony please go back and listen to last week’s podcast before you continue with this one. In this episode, recorded on their back porch with the gentle breeze blowing and animals playing around our feet, my friends TJ and MaryAnn Knutson continue to share their story of how God has been growing their faith in the midst of personal tragedy. We all go thru times of questioning! We all experience points in our life where we don’t understand our circumstances, and we don’t understand the pain, but the bigger question is, will we still continue to trust God even in the middle of the story, when we don’t understand what He is doing? For TJ and MaryAnn, the answer is a resounding YES!! We pray this testimony of God’s faithfulness in the midst of great trials will inspire your own faith in God’s goodness. He does not fail His children. Even in the midst of the storms, He is with us! You can trust Him, and above all, you can trust His Word!

In this episode my dear friends TJ and MaryAnn Knutson join me to share some of their personal testimony of how God has helped (and is helping) them through great personal tragedy and loss. Are you struggling with some difficult crisis in your life? Or perhaps, you are wondering how you will get through the crisis of the coming days? As TJ and MaryAnn share, I believe you will be inspired and encouraged that God truly is with His people, even in the midst of the darkest storms, and as He's taking care of TJ and MaryAnn day by day, He will also take care of you. TJ and MaryAnn are living proof, that even in the darkest difficulties of life, there is a purpose and a reason to have faith in God, for even when life goes bad, He is still good, and He never wastes our pain. Join us next week for part II of this beautiful and inspiring testimony.

Do you ever find yourself up against a Red Sea of impossibilities and you wonder how in the world will I get through these circumstances? The children of Israel faced those types of impossibilities again and again, and yet again and again, God came through for them. And He will come through for us today as well. In this episode, Melody shares a couple stories from scripture as well as some inspiring stories of significant victories that God gave His people as they cried out to Him in the midst of seemingly impossible battles, battles much like we are facing today. Remember, if God is for us, who can be against us!

So buckle up your seat belt, and grab your Bible for another adventure daring to live by every Word.

Have you ever thought about the fact that the way we treat the written Word of God is actually the way we value the Living Word in person? Ouch! That cuts a bit, doesn't it? We praise God for His mercy as we fall so short of loving Him the way we truly should. In this podcast Melody will be talking about learning to love the Word, live the Word, and ultimately being willing, if the final test comes, to die for the Word. We hope you enjoy the stories shared in this podcast of those who stood and died for God's Word. (If you’d like a copy of Melody’s most recent book, “Daring to Live by Every Word,” and you live in the United States and are among the first 25 listeners to reach out in response to this podcast, Melody will be happy to send you a book free of charge.
