The exposure triangle is formed by 3 settings namely shutter speed, ISO & aperture. In our previous podcast we discussed about shutter speed
7 how to control it. In this episode we will discuss about ISO, its buttons, how to control it and its significance. We will also see how ISO affects images in general as well as dental photography.
The problem with discussing ISO buttons is that they are located at different places in different cameras. This difference is fairly constant in Canon cameras which is why I LOVE CANON for its camera design consistency. However in Nikon ISO button is very differently located and sometimes even absent. I've tried my best to incorporate about ISO buttons of some of the biggest players in camera world namely Canon, Nikon,Sony, Panasonic & Fuji in this podcast.
There are tips for what must be the best ISO settings for dental photography as well as general photography. Do share the podcast with your friends if you find it helpful !! -

The main dial aka control dial is one of the most versatile button/dial of our camera. It can control many settings and is like a multipurpose joystick. It is easy to use, accessible and that's why it is one of the most frequently used dials of the camera. It has separate roles when used alone and in combination with other buttons. In this episode we will try and understand all the functions and uses of the Control dial of the camera.

I have trained thousands of students.
Out of my training experience I've realized that many a times the camera user is never able to see anything sharp through the viewfinder. There could be many reasons for this but one of the MOST OVERLOOKED reason is ignoring the diopter adjustment of your camera according to your vision. In fact this is so overlooked that even many conditioned photographers dont know about it.

We will find out in this episode of dental photography school.
In this episode I Dr. Mayur Davda your host will speak about the various aspects that differentiate between the 2 cameras. You can decide for yourself after that if a Crop sensor budget friendly or Full Frame expensive camera which is better for dental photography
I cover aspects like
Sensor size, processors, weather sealing and high end features because of which full frame cameras are so expensive.
I also speak about aspects like weight and economics because they are the main factors affecting our choices for dental photography.
There are other DEEPER aspects like lens compatibility and in built flash availability which are vital but people usually tend to forget about it however they are critical to understand in our decision making process.
The bottom-line "Don't let your budget decide your camera !! " -
Much awaited episode for people who want to upskill their dental photography to a whole new level. In this episode i speak about all the studiolight options for dental photography both expensive & economic. COVID has caused an acute scarcity of all photography equipment including studiolights. I never suggested a mirrorless camera for so many years. 1 reason for that was the unavailability of 100 mm macro lens for the mirrorless camera. This issue has been finally resolved by CANON. No more waiting. Huge applause to Canon for introducing the RF 100 mm macro lens for dental photography using a mirrorless camera.
We all know that the canon mirrorless cameras come in 2 mounts
1 is the M mount (for small sensor category)
2nd is the RF mount for the full frame mirrorless category.
Canon has recently launched the RF 100 mm macro lens and it will be the best choice for MIRRORLESS camera users and yes NOW WE MAY shift to a mirrorless camera if we wish to.
The cost factor is something we have to look for now. -

I've used both Canon and Nikon for clinical dental photography. In my personal opinion, there is not 1 but many reasons why dentists must be wary of NIKON equipment for dental photography. In this episode I have enumerated all the drawbacks present in the NIKON system. I thing that I forgot to mention was the cost factor.
In the cost of 1 105 mm Nikon Macro lens I could buy 1 Canon basic DSLR + 100 mm macro lens. -
