  • Yes, we have THE Mike Allred: father of Madman, creator of Doop, iZombie, and so many others, artist extraordinaire, and lover of comic books! If you didn't know, Mike started out in broadcasting, first on the radio and then as a TV reporter in Europe. But soon he's back in his native Oregon, chewing up the independent comics scene with graphic novels like Dead Air, Graphique Musique, and Grafik Muzik, as well as contributions to Creatures of the Id. One of those stories featured Frank Einstein, who Mike would go on to mold into his iconic Madman character. After Madman-ing it for a decade, Mike made for Marvel next, where he collaborated with Peter Milligan on X-Force (later X-Statix), then Matt Fraction on FF, and Dan Slott on Silver Surfer. He even found time to create and launch iZombie, which was adapted in a TV series. Now, he's at DC, tackling the big boys in Superman: Space Age and Batman: Dark Age (both with Mark Russell).

  • The man, the myth, the father of Shi: that's right, it's Billy Tucci! Billy and Shi crashed onto the comics scene in 1994, and they never looked back. For the first dozen years, it was all about the half-Japanese, naginata-wielding woman warrior and her solo and crossover adventures. And crossovers there were: with Avengelyne, Gen-13, Cyblade, Daredevil, Grifter, Vampirella, Lady Death, and Wolverine, just to name a few! Billy eventually branched out to other publishers, working on Heroes for Hire at Marvel, and Jonah Hex, Birds of Prey, Harley Quinn, and Sgt. Rock: The Lost Battalion for DC. Now, for her 30th anniversary, he's putting together the craziest Shi book yet, the multiverse-spanning Shi: Gatecrasher.

You can still get Billy's latest, Rocketeer: Pavlichenko Special Art Edition, on Indiegogo here: https://igg.me/at/SHISECONDCOMING/x#/. And you can follow Billy on his site, billytucci.com, or on Instagram @billy_tucci and X @BillyTucci.

After graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a degree in Sequential Art (how cool is that?!), Kelly started as a writer about comics, doing reviews and a column for CBR, but moved into the industry proper with a long run on IDW's Jem and the Holograms. Then it was on to Marvel, where she tackled a number of amazing titles, including Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps (with Kelly Sue DeConnick), Hawkeye (Kate Bishop version), Rogue & Gambit, Mr. and Mrs. X, Jessica Jones, more Captain Marvel, West Coast Avengers, and Black Widow (to name a few). She's also worked on creator-owned comics Black Cloak and The Cull with Substack/Image, Sabrina the Teenage Witch for Archie, and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Pink for Boom! And now, she's sinking her teeth into Absolute Wonder Woman in addition to Birds of Prey at DC.
