We had some fun making some parodies of some classic holiday songs and poems, and a few groups wanted to share some cheer with you all. Enjoy a short and sweet holiday edition of English Time Fun Zone!

We just finished reading and discussing The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins in 8 Language Arts, and the students have something to say about it! Listen in on their takeaways from the novel, and a special segment from two of our very own.

Well, we’re late, but the content is still incredibly average! We got to record this on our date night—thanks Mimi!—and probably had too much fun. We talk about our newfound freedom, the insignificance if time, and whatever else comes up.

In this episode, we share our love and appreciation for our mothers, and talk about momma Kas’ experience on her first Mother’s Day. We notice things get a little silly and have differing thoughts on music choices, and play my favorite game yet! Keep listening and don’t forget to drop us a line at https:/anchor.fm/mrt13/message.

On episode 8 we Mrs. T and I chat about our favorite local places, spending all the time together, and speaking fluent Spanish. Also, my toes are attacked. We made it a rowdy one, just for you! Also, the last 5 minutes includes the sound of me trying to burp Porter. He saw me doing that to Louie and just had to try for himself!

This episode, we catch up with an old friend, Adam Blair. He’s been enjoying time still working as an assessor, doing projects with his fiancé and his golden retriever (Kenzie and Hamilton, respectively), and keeping up with new music (Larry Fleet is the newest name here!) and Ozarks on Netflix (#teamruth). Can’t wait to see this gang in person again!

This episode, we try something novel and innovative, and, quite frankly, completely unfamiliar to us. Or to me at least. That new thing is structure. We still have our Porter and the Poobah section, but we’re introducing Things I Notice, and Game Time! What a rush. As always, feel free to stop by at anchor.fm/mrt13/message!

In this episode we hear from an old friend and classmate, Ben Lott. Thank goodness at least one person enjoys this. We also have a (probably) famous YouTube vlogger, Lance Tobedecided, who shares his struggles with needing to meet his guests face to face for video interviews...I also talk with a student, Danny, but you don’t get to hear what he has to say. Also, happy Easter! I hope you enjoyed it as well as Louie did—hear how he did on Easter here. Same as last episode, be sure to reach out and be featured on a future episode by leaving a message at anchor.fm/mrt13/message.

More happenings from the homestead! V exciting to be recording from home now. Porter has met Louie and vice versa, we are grilling and chilling, and meeting neighbors (from a distance, of course). Also, feel free to drop us a line! We’d love to hear from you! Visit anchor.fm/mrt13/message and leave a recording.

Thank you to our first guest, Vanessa, who volunteered to be interviewed. We cover quarantining with siblings, reading, writing (proud teacher moment--don't mind the authentic 1-1 reading and writing conferences between me and my student!), and leaving our story for the future. Why wouldn't someone 100 years from now want to know about Disney + and dance parties when they look back on the Coronavirus pandemic? It's always good to hear a positive voice any time, but it's especially good when we're all just trying to stay busy. Thanks for being on to chat, Vanessa! We also update on Porter, whose heavy breathing you can hear in certain segments because he would not take no for an answer to be on the podcast, and we honor the late great Joe Diffie, plugging his song “Ships that Don’t Come In” (https://youtu.be/KTQJy-scAU8). Thanks for listening! Stay home and wash your hands!

We’re on week 2! Still talking snacks (a 10 for 5 fiasco), Porter, and entertainment, along with more experiences and a health kick. We reference The Wood Brothers’ song, “The Muse,” which can be found at https://youtu.be/3U0arXdrvlE. The chair in the episode thumbnail gets an honorable mention, too.

This is just our first shot at podcasting. Hopefully I can pick up the pace a bit and get Momma Kas and some others more air time, but for now take a listen into our lives for the time being. We’ve been cooped up for long enough!
