We're going for ourselves! And you should join us!
We are running Evangelize 2024 so we can grow in evangelism, both as individuals and as part of a community of believers. Many people struggle with this task, so we discuss why Christians should seek, make, and not just wait for opportunities to share the gospel.
It’s essential to have a love for the lost and trust God to open blind eyes, but our passivity shouldn't prevent us from scattering seeds. By recognizing our need to grow in evangelism, we can come together to learn how to share the gospel, equip ourselves with tools, reach the lost, and provide a space at church.
For the pastor: What is the role of the church body (trellises) beyond the individual Christian’s effort that has invited a non-Christian to church?
For the Christian: Are you dwelling on the truths of the gospel so you can speak it to the lost ones around you?

Curriculum is just letters on a page. Our convictions give us an idea we want people to know and curriculum gives us a framework to get people into the bible and thinking this way. (For example: disciples understanding their calling as disciple-making disciples).
Too much emphasis is put on the curriculum and not much on the goal and role of the class. The role of the teacher is not to just get through the course, it’s to teach the people in front of you.

A gospel verse is one that stands out to you, and stays with you like a pebble in your shoe. What verses do you cling to or refer back to when it comes to sharing the gospel? We can be encouraged and motivated by dwelling on Scripture as we navigate the hard work of evangelism.

Reading is good and why don’t we do more of it. And how can we encourage non-readers to read? A disciple is a learner and the biggest way we learn is by reading. Reading good theology helps you in your Bible reading. And Bible reading helps you in your theology reading.

Let’s walk through what it looks like to invite someone to church. Is it as hard as we think it is? Why is evangelism so hard? Marty and Lindsey talk about the Sunday morning time, thinking through what a non Christian would experience. As we continue to engage with people that have come to church with us, we can take the next step to share the gospel and have intentional spiritual conversations. Be an inviting person and be willing to get past the pain point as you engage with non-Christians.

Marty and Lindsey discuss what it means to be an everyday gospeler. The challenge to consider: if we aren't actively sharing the gospel then we haven't yet learned the gospel. God commands us to love God and love others. Sharing the gospel is the greatest way we can do that for those around us. Understanding clearly what the gospel message is crucial for everyday gospel work.

It is hard to know what to say about Easter. I know, that sounds terrible. But what I mean is this - what could I possibly add to the message of Easter that isn’t being said by your church and faithful gospel-speaking friends around you. A novel message is not what we as Christians are after. Thankfully, the message of Easter is the same as it has been for thousands of years.

The Course of Your Life is a resource Tony has said is one of the most important resources he's ever worked on. In this video he shares why it's so important and how a resource like this can help a Christian understand what the Christian life is all about. Once we learn that the Christian life is not about ourselves, but about who God is and who Jesus is, then our driving central priority as a Christian is shifted. We desire to minister to others and point them to Christ. Course of Your Life
