I had the honor to interview a legendary FHSU athlete and one of the most talented mid-distance runners in the nation, Brett Meyer! Brett is a 6-time NCAA All-American athlete, and 2019 NCAA DII National Champion in the outdoor 1,500m run. He also recently completed the 2022 USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships which he ended up placing 7th! In this episode, Brett shares his story of how he became one of the best mid-distance runners in the nation.

If you're looking to add long-distance running to your exercise routine, this is the episode for you! For my first stop for the FYF Summer Tour, I've traveled to Kansas City to interview Mirena Goncalves, a former NCAA Division 2 long-distance runner. In this interview, Mirena talks about her humble beginnings from competing in Venezuela and taking her talents to Barton Community College and finally to FHSU. Mirena is also an FHSU graduate, and she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Human Performance. We also discussed the general recommendations for people who are looking to add long-distance running to their exercise routines.

I had a great time interviewing a fellow classmate of mine who recently graduated from FHSU with an Exercise Science degree! Joel is also a former student-athlete who also played college soccer. Joel and I also had some interesting conversations on what stuff we had learned from our HHP classes and how he implemented the knowledge into his fitness journey! Joel also explains what mistakes he had made during the beginning phases of his fitness journey.
