The Ghana Grid Company Limited, (GRIDCo) and the Electricity Company of Ghana, (ECG) have announced a possible load management for three weeks. In a joint statement issued on Thursday, June 13, ECG and GRIDCo clarified that the load management is necessary “due to maintenance works being undertaken by a gas supplier in Nigeria and is projected to last three (3) weeks.

Former Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) are demanding their end-of-service benefits from the government three years after leaving office. After President Akufo-Addo's reshuffle in 2021, 134 MMDCEs lost their jobs. According to their appointment letters, they were entitled to benefits such as a three-month consolidated salary and an installation grant.

The indefinite strike by staff of the National Identification Authority (NIA) has left numerous applicants in the Ashanti Region stranded, unable to access essential services. President Akufo-Addo has stated that he would not violate the rules of natural justice because, in the court of public opinion, someone is found to be guilty of corruption before trial. In response to the 2024 flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, whom he said had described him as a clearing agent as far as corruption allegations against his appointees were concerned.

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced an extension of the ongoing voters registration exercise.
The exercise, which has been extended by two days, will now end on May 29 instead of the initial May 27.
In a public notice, the EC said this extension is to make up for the time lost due to network challenges. -
