In this episode, I talk about how I'm joining another private gym location in San Ramon, Ca called ATP Fitness. I have zero clients in that city, but thanks to my LinkedIn content, I've made a friend in San Ramon who I've been able to network with and land as my first client. I also talk about the timing of doing free sessions, moving with speed in decision making, and how adjusting as a trainer is super important. There's also a segment where I talk about how I brand and format my media and training styles differently between the private gyms I train at. -

Something I'm excited about to develop is a super tight and strong community around a NFT project that is connected to my fitness and my future gym services.
I've brain stormed ideas already and want to be sure I show the process and journey along the way of it being nothing to something.
I'm only 30 and I can feel that this can really push and direct me to create something special over the next decade.
Let's see how this goes and what I come up with and what unfolds. Not sure when this will be finished. Definitely within the next year I hope.
Want to chat with me what I came up with so far or have questions about NFTs, reach out. Let's chat. -

In this episode, I talk about Lil Wayne and his ability to stay relevant since the 90s. At the age of 39, he's still fresh in music because of his willingness to adapt and grow as music has evolved.
His career is a lesson and example we can all learn from. I certainly pay attention to Wayne's work ethic and competitive spirit towards how he creates time after time.

I share a recap on how my outdoor kickboxing workout went. There were 5 incredible people that I trained in the park on heavy bags.
I discuss the cargo van rental van process, how I personally loaded and unloaded the freestanding heavy bags, how the class ran and can continue to run, the power of filming this workout, and how being willing to do the not so fun part of the behind scenes work is very doable when you love the work itself.
That kind of mentality is one of the things that gives someone an edge on people who don't love the work.

Chatting about my idea to do outdoor kickboxing classes and pop up workouts. Doing my first kickboxing outdoor event at Pinole Fernandez Park. I made 7 spots available and asked my text community to help me test it out. It's going to be fun teaching a group fitness class again even in these conditions. I'm pretty excited about it.

Since the pandemic started in March 2020, about 9,000 gyms have shutdown for good due to tough restrictions set in place that completely cut memberships and revenue away for gym owners.
At that very moment, the fitness industry went from mostly being a physical in-person kind of business to virtual and video type of business.
Today, high tech companies like Peleton, Mirror, and Fight Camp have been great examples of what high tech/low months subscription based workouts can look like.
Boutique gyms and studios can do it in a similar way by bringing content and videos that customers can enjoy as well.
In today's world and moving forward, it's a good idea for gyms to have a hybrid model of online and in person memberships. Those two worlds are now integrated and neither are going away.
Personal training can still be the same, but I also think mobile trainers will become more of a business with trainers bringing the equipment via a commercial van and/or arriving at home gyms to offer services.
I talk about these topics more in depth in this episode! Enjoy! Subscribe to my YouTube https://youtube.com/user/JasonWTTW -

In this episode, I go through a list of things that ultimately are the building blocks and frame work to starting up a gym.
Licensing comes down to music and permits.
Financing is how to get money for the overhead and rent.
The space is about where and how big or small of a building I want to start in. That's a tie into demographics.
Staff is the vision of the team. Who will do what, systems, and careers.
The marketing is the strategy around branding and making sales. Good episode here.
Thanks for following the journey! - もっと表示する
