「自然谷環境信託基地」是臺灣第一個採用環境公益信託而受到永久保護的土地，自2014年起，由TEIA台灣環境資訊協會受託管理至今。依據信託契約三大任務經營：1.保護並營造低海拔森林；2.營造全民環境教育學習中心；3.推動在地生態保育行動。
