This time, we take a deeper look at the Anaheim Ducks' overall prospect pool and where they currently stand by position. Jason Hernandez looks into the prospects with Sebastian High (Locked On NHL Prospects) and how deep they are right now. Cutter Gauthier is among the prized prospects in Anaheim, and he's ready to make an impact now along with Leo Carlsson. Meanwhile, the young defensemen are ready to break out and show the NHL what they are capable of. However, there is one position that Jason says needs work, and that is goaltending. How should the Ducks plan ahead and restock the goalie pipeline? Finally, Sebastian gives his projections for three of the brightest prospects... but Jason thinks those numbers could be surpassed.

We are now a couple weeks removed from the 2024 NHL Draft, and now we begin to think about how some of these draft picks could impact the Ducks in the near future and where they fit in. Jason Hernandez shares some initial thoughts on the first pick before Sebastian High (Locked On NHL Prospects) gives some thoughts on the first two picks, and how the Ducks knocked these out of the park, and talked about Beckett Sennecke's ability to create plays and keep pucks in the offensive zone... something the Ducks struggled with. Could Sennecke help the Ducks' woes in getting pucks into the offensive zone? Also, Solberg could be a massive help, but what is his ceiling? Finally, we look at the rest of the picks and Sebastian gives his final grade for the Ducks in the 2024 Draft.

The AHL schedule has just been released, and now we can start planning what games to keep an eye on, and maybe plan some Canada trips. JD Hernandez goes through the schedule including a first-time meeting with the Toronto Marlies! Also, the Gulls recently made some depth signings that could see some time. Finally, JD explains in detail what the "veteran rule" is in the AHL, and why it's important for this young team. Is there anybody else the Gulls could still sign in the coming days or weeks?

With some changes of scenery taking place over the Summer, we felt that now would be a good time for a crossover episode. JD Hernandez is joined by Jon Chik (Locked On NY Rangers) to talk about Sam Carrick joining the Broadway Blueshirts. What can the long-time Duck bring to the Rangers, and how does he fit in with that squad? Bo Groulx also joins the Rangers organization in what could be a solid depth move. Also, looking ahead to next season, what does the immediate and long-term future look like for the Ducks? Finally, what does the future of Frank Vatrano look like, what are the chances he returns to New York, and what would a possible mid-season trade look like if the Rangers decide to pursue Frank?

The Ducks finally made an important announcement regarding the rest of their coaching staff, and this could be fantastic hires by the organization. JD Hernandez talks about the new role for Sudarshan Maharaj after beating pancreatic cancer. Also, the Ducks hired a new assistant coach who was around during the starting years of the Mighty Ducks, Tim Army. Also, the Ducks make an important hire with former NHL'er, Peter Budaj, becoming the Ducks' newest goaltending coach. Budaj is reunited with Greg Cronin after they shared some time with the AHL's Colorado Eagles. This hire could be very vital for one goalie in particular. Finally, the annual Rookie Faceoff is coming to El Segundo with several West coast teams showcasing their young, budding stars.

The Ducks didn't land any big names in free agency this off-season, but at least they got to save some money which could help them the following season. With CapFriendly soon shutting down, JD Hernandez played around with the cap settings for 2025-26, and how much space they would still have after re-signing a few key soon-to-be free agents, if they don't get traded before the trade deadline. How could the roster look next season, and how much could the Ducks spend bringing back a couple emerging stars? Also, we look at the free agent list for the 2025 off-season, and there are some BIG names on that list.

The Ducks missing out on the big names hurts in the short term, but there were definitely some players that got overpaid in this year's free agent frenzy. JD Hernandez explores some of the big signings across the NHL, and why it was a good thing that the Ducks didn't bite on any of those oversized deals. Also, which teams did get better this off-season with some of their moves, and which signings could age well? While some teams paid way too much, there were still some free agents after day one that could have gone to Anaheim at a reasonable price. Finally, should we already look ahead to next year's free agents as better targets for the Ducks down the line?

Once again, the Anaheim Ducks come up mostly empty-handed in the free agent frenzy leaving the patience of Ducks fans growing thinner with each rebuilding season. JD Hernandez talks about the big swings GM Pat Verbeek took on day one of free agency... only to leave without signing any big names to the Ducks. Did the Ducks dodge a bullet by not overpaying right now? Also, we welcome back a couple more Ducks to the roster, and talk about the players the Ducks DID sign in free agency. Also, the Ducks made a couple trades to round out their roster... and just get above the cap floor. Is it possible the Ducks aren't done yet?

The Anaheim Ducks' development came to an end on Friday in Irvine, and the young rookies and draft picks showcased their skills in an open scrimmage where some young stars impressed. JD Hernandez was at Great Park Ice to check out camp on Friday and observed which players really shined on the ice. Cutter Gauthier was impressive, but where does he fit in with the team, and where might Greg Cronin deploy him through the season? Which other young Ducklings looked impressive? Finally, the two first round draft picks from the 2024 NHL Draft signed their entry level contracts, could they make a difference right away?

With the NHL schedule already out, we can begin to mark down the important games of the season, and the opponents to keep an eye on. JD Hernandez noticed that while most teams put out some kind of fancy schedule release video, the Ducks didn't put out a video this year (it's a shame... they've had some excellent videos in recent years). JD decides to have a little bit of fun and record an unofficial schedule release video with how some other fanbases might react. The season begins in San Jose and Vegas before coming home against Phoenix... no... Arizona... er... Utah! Also, when do the Ducks face the Flyers in Philadelphia and we hear the chorus of profanity-laced yells towards Cutter Gauthier?

We barely got through the first three picks in the previous episode, so now it's time to talk about the final six picks the Anaheim Ducks wound up making in the 2024 NHL Draft. JD Hernandez talks about the two early 3rd round picks that could make some noise. Also, could Tarin Smith wind up being a steal at #79? There are many reasons to believe he could become an impact player. Alexandre Blais was also a solid pick at #100... but that might just wind up being a solid depth piece. Finally, could the final two picks have any chance at cracking the Gulls lineup down the line?

The 2024 NHL Draft in the Sphere was a spectacle, and it didn't take long for the Ducks to make a bold pick. JD Hernandez returns home to break down the first three Anaheim Ducks' picks in this year's draft. Taking Beckett Sennecke at #3 was somewhat unexpected, but with his stock steadily rising, GM Pat Verbeek saw something in the young right winger. We also hear from Sennecke as he talks about who helped him get to this point. Also, the Ducks traded up to the #23 pick to select the bruising right-handed defenseman, Stian Solberg. JD talks about his hard-hitting play, and also how he has already endeared himself to many Ducks fans by dropping some F-bombs at the flock party. Finally, we look at Lucas Pettersson and where he could possibly fit in with the organization down the line.

Live from the site of the 2024 NHL Draft in Las Vegas, we have coverage all weekend long as the Ducks continue their rebuild and look to make some big moves. JD Hernandez talks about the shocking pick at #3 which sent the Sphere into a stunned silence, and prompted Beckett Sennecke to mouth a "WTF" reaction. Is this a good pick for the Ducks, and where does he possibly fit into the Ducks' long-term plans? Also, the Ducks orchestrated a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs to secure the 23rd pick, and land big-bodied defenseman, Stian Solberg. What can he bring to this Ducks lineup? Finally, JD gets some fan reactions to both picks and overall thoughts on day 1 of the NHL Draft.

There is big reason for hope in Ducks land as the Anaheim Ducks hired a new assistant coach, and this could work out well for a team as young as the Ducks. JD Hernandez talks about the hiring of Rich Clune and what he brings to the table from the coaching perspective. Even though his credentials aren't as lengthy as other coaching candidates, he proved effective last season with the Toronto Marlies behind the bench; hopefully, he can bring some improvements to a power play that desperately needs help. Also, some fresh jerseys are headed to Anaheim! We say goodbye to the webbed primary logo, and a return to the old-school hockey mask logo with an Orange County twist. Finally, some final thoughts on the upcoming draft, and some thoughts on the Calder Cup Finals.

With the NHL Draft quickly approaching, the Ducks' options with that #3 pick may not be as clear cut as we once thought. JD Hernandez talks about who else the Ducks could be looking at, and who they should be keeping their eye on. Also, with the Edmonton Oilers failing to win the Stanley Cup, the Ducks' other pick remains at #31. The bigger storylines around that series was the near-collapse of the Florida Panthers, and the plethora of storylines featuring former Ducks. J.S. Giguere is now no longer the last player to win the Conn Smythe Trophy in a losing effort, Dmitry Kulikov's long road to the Stanley Cup is finally fulfilled, and Corey Perry makes history... definitely not how he wanted to make history.

JD Hernandez is back with Danny Evans (The Sporting Tribune) to talk about the never-ending Trevor Zegras rumors and why the Ducks should not trade him this offseason. With the Florida Panthers still one victory away from a Stanley Cup, we look at how the Panthers went from being a laughing stock in the league to reaching the Cup Final in two consecutive seasons. JD Hernandez shares some thoughts from Acrisure Arena and looks at the trades and moves Florida made to accelerate their rebuild. However, this type of rebuild might not work for the Ducks. Thus, we look at a team only a few miles away for another way to build around cornerstone draft picks, and a different team from the state of Florida. Finally, the Edmonton Oilers are attempting the rare "reverse sweep" on the Panthers, and McDavid is leading the way and breaking records en route to sending the series back to Alberta.
