We love a guest, I mean, we love, love, love a guest, but this is our first life coach and while we have shared vulnerable things in the past, this episode is easily the most vulnerable, and it very much will resonate with our listeners and women in general. We can’t think of a more empowering conversation or a more validating conversation than this one. Jennifer Sisk joins us all the way from Greer, SC to talk societal conditioning shape, trauma impact, the lies we tell ourselves, self-esteem and confidence.

How do we identify and ultimately overcome the false beliefs rooted in childhood to rebuild self-esteem chipped away by consistent self-neglect, this episode takes a deep dive into the complexities of personal growth. Jennifer shares her insights on how societal pressures and personal experiences impact self-worth and introduces the concept of the "slow drip" effect, where minor relationship infractions accumulate over time to cause emotional damage. Our conversation stresses the need for setting boundaries, embracing authenticity, and understanding both our own and others' roles in maintaining or disrupting these dynamics. And ultimately the self forgiveness that comes with deciding that when a person has crossed your boundaries maybe that relationship isn’t healthy for you and that’s OK to question.

Embrace the transformative power of authenticity and self-care as we highlight the courage it takes to break free from outdated stereotypes and societal expectations. With humorous anecdotes about everyday embarrassments and a candid exploration of relationships, we emphasize the importance of therapy and self-awareness in the journey of self-discovery. This episode is a heartfelt testament to living unapologetically and recognizing the universal nature of personal struggles, encouraging listeners to laugh, learn, and grow with each experience.

Happy Halloween - and you know what that means - tomorrow November 1 is Christmas. So Merry Christmas - and don’t even get twisted over it because one of us still has their table set from last Christmas, so you’re barking up the wrong tree. And while we are at it - let’s talk lights. LED white, warm white or color - which one of us throws out their lights after every Christmas to avoid the dead light drama, and stay tuned for the greatest Christmas lights life hack. Here on Mayhem, we take Santa’s holiday serious.

And since we’re talking LED - let’s talk gyno office lighting. No one wants to be able to see the cheeseburger they ate in the third grade - while wearing a paper gown, and fighting for a shred of dignity, cmon. And then there’s the entire conversation about time management because nothing feels more like cattle than being shoved into cold offices, and then sitting there for upwards of an hour, while you wait for seven minutes of someone’s distracted time. Okay, rant over. For now.

Rest assured not every practitioner is like this though - and we have a local favorite. Our girl Stephanie at CHS Hormone is changing both of our lives and ultimately the way the conversation sounds around hormones and hormone therapy. She is a unicorn among practitioners.

Todays real topic - the work force - with us in it … we unpack our work history. From barbecue joints, to ice cream parlors, Blockbuster, and science warehouses. We get real about steel toe boots, about how much barbecue we’ve consumed on the clock, water pills and our favorite things about late night inventory. And ultimately some of the lifelong relationships that we've built at each of these jobs.

And of course we get sidetracked along the way somewhere between Olive Garden endless breadsticks and why does work out sweat on a man smells so good? And you’re welcome to disagree, but we probably won’t believe you. Assuming it’s pheromones, but if one of you guys has a better answer, please let us know. What can we say - that’s amore (listen, you’ll understand).

We’re pushing the boundaries today and we’ve got help! The queen of not holding back - SARA WILES - is joining us. We don’t need a warm-up for this one, even though the three of us have never spoken outside of Instagram she jumps right into the mayhem. In fact she kicks us off by asking if we want her introduction in the form of “ trauma version or the business version “ … spoiler alert, we got both.

The three of us tackle dog diarrhea, male skincare routines, online triggers, “queef gate” and “soaking” in search of the existential question - how much failure “makes” an entrepreneur. Safe to say we don’t know a single entrepreneur who’s gotten away without failure - so inevitably the conversation always turns to - how did you fail, what did it look like, and what parts are funny now? And ultimately, why is it so freeing to share this stuff? Does everyone else just feel a huge weight lifted when you get to laugh at some of the nonsense you’ve experienced or even accidentally created? Even if it is just eating tacos upside down with a few friends?

Who is she? Sara is the founder and CEO of The Start and Grow Co - leading the industry in Virtual Assistant training. But at one time - she had the dream to be a yoga teacher - she talks about the first time she invested in additional training - and the challenges of bringing up dream after dream to your friends and family - when you’ve failed in front of them. The risk. The reward. And ultimately the growth. Something we can all relate to.

Sara brings a “life first, business lens” to her work style, her trainees, and today’s podcast. She says it in her introduction, but the way she weaves through today’s recording, is such a testament to that philosophy. You really get to experience who she has personally and then also who she has professionally. And after all, aren’t we just kidding ourselves when we say that we’re two different people ( at home and at work?). The three of us share a very special and vulnerable common denominator (one we’re becoming obsessed with). The freedom in being allowed to show up as who you are authentically and creating a space around you for others to be understood and to do the same. But we are left with one question. Which one is more embarrassing? The mermaid queef or the fact that it could’ve been interpreted as a fart?

We kick off today with a song … and a puppy. Breton “Bret”, Raebecca’s boxer cohost is officially home in Charleston. All things pets for our intro this Thursday - begs the question though, should we start adding “things Tiny ate” to our social media? From a bootie (high heel), faux coral to a fascia blaster Jenny’s rescue pup has been on a feeding frenzy that rivals shark week. Better question - are we letting our dogs in our beds … or?

How did your mom’s personal style influence yours? We unpack our parents habits - everything from makeup, the art of getting “done up”, and our daily athleisure attire. From a linemen to a vet tech with an art based business - one of us grew up with a mom who gets ready daily … and this host doesn't. And the other grew up with a mom who doesn’t wear daily makeup … and this host always wears makeup.

Ultimately this turns into a teaching moment when Raebecca is out of town with her two littles to pickup the puppy baby. With two restaurant options, and limited outfit choices - they headed to the upscale restaurant in hoodies and leggings and had the times of their lives. And what happens when you realize you wear the same shoe size as your daughter … because it’s happening quickly and it’s both terrifying and incredible. And then, and then, there’s the Spanx heel … which takes on a left hand turn into price point, branding and what happens if you alienate your more curious clients with one or the other.

Here’s one we want to hear back from y’all about - team closed doors vs open doors - what does it mean ?! Literally and figuratively - one of our hosts keeps all her doors open and lights on, and the other is the opposite in pursuit of peace. And straight into holiday baking - “I made it, had a breakdown, bon apetite ”. What IS the SECRET to trim gingerbread men? Come clean - we want to know how yours don’t turn to sumo. The stress and pressure of holiday baking - is it worth it? What do your traditions look like? Chex mix trash, to grandmas cookies, to popcorn wreaths and chocolate cake … we’re going to ease you into the holidays whether you want us to or not … and it’s not even on purpose.

👠We talk the new shoe, SNEEX - have you seen these?
    🍴Jenny's favorite Chex mix recipe

We love a woman who knows what she wants - especially for her birthday. No guessing games here - which host entered the chat in a brand new look - “soft autumn”. What is in a color analysis - and how fast does it take us to say “we don’t have to do everything she says”? From Juicy Couture throwbacks to the Tim Allen “The Santa Clause” red sweatsuit, we are talking our favorite things on Amazon prime right now, because you’ve got a week until prime days and we have a shopping problem. Let’s just be honest.

And in typical overshare fashion - since we’re both a little slutty for a pedi - when was the last time you got carried away with your shower pedi? It happens to the best of us. Last week we were sharing our favorite things from Costco but this week, we dig deep into our most most recent Amazon purchases that we just can’t live without. From denim crop tops, black heels (and the reminiscing of some of our favorite pairs), travel jewelry cases, Westin essential oils and a diffuser - to Moroccan rugs and glitter freckles. We’re getting real about our shopping habits and game changers.

We end with a convo about our furriest friends. You live for our bulldog cohost - and the adventures of Tiny’s rescue last fall … which cohost is considering adding another bundle of … mayhem … to their home? After all - what’s one more responsibility? And in finale - a happiest birthday to Jenny - and a happy 1 year podcasting to Marketing & Mayhem … what a difference a year makes.

One day, it will hit you. The thing that you want to be when you grow up and it’s probably not going to happen when you’re age 8, or when you’re 18, maybe not even when you’re 28. Who is to say that our calling comes up by a certain age? We invite one of our favorite bloggers and “influencers” (stay tuned to hear her take on this), Christina from @cmon.mama (Instagram) on the podcast today to talk, motherhood, relationships, and finding your true calling

This conversation is so near and dear to our hearts - because her online journey started with a blog about her own motherhood journey, simple tricks that she found that she loved, sharing every day, trials and tribulations of being a mother and then navigating a pandemic. Everything from period panties to her favorite grape slicer. And now she’s writing a book.

And not just any book, a spicy book. And you know as listeners and followers, we love ourselves, a good romance. But we share an incredible moment on air as the three of us talk about how spice actually happens in real life, and the kind of relationship that warrants it . From rainbow jackets to teaching your kids to have a diverse palette, we celebrate her first decade as a mom, one another, and ultimately the spirit of motherhood. From school volunteer opportunities, to our own personal thoughts about influencers and how we like to be influenced. And our favorite 2 ingredient pumpkin muffin (mumpkin) recipe.

The three of us get together to share some of our biggest learnings, and our proudest moments. And of course, we tackle the topics that are mainstays in motherhood – food Olympics, prioritizing self-care, and the art of slowing down, teaching our kids confidence and giving them the freedom to embrace their authentic selves (often at the same time we are learning bow to give ourselves the grace to do this). And if we’re lucky enough - we might just get to be beta readers for her novel!

In an unusual twist - we end season 3 in reflection. From a convo on air about “ball soap” - better known as squatch soap. We jump into the “how it all started” - unscripted amateurs with no plan, but a world of drive. Determined not to let paralysis analysis stop us from putting the rubber to the road. This convo very much highlights our Type 2 and Type 8 (enneagram) personalities - you’re going to be laughing right from the start.

From cooking in a kitchen that’s on fire - to actually being fired - our paths crossed at the exact time our faith in a higher power was making us unwilling to miss an opportunity like this. What does Mac Hollins have to do with our email reply strategy? Division of responsibility - that’s what - our unique personality differences have both influenced one another, and created a unique space to really lean into our strengths and spirit.

What’s in a perfect house? What’s makes perfect timing? What about the perfect pet? Or even the perfect job? See where we are going here? The only thing stopping any of us from starting - is likely just a set of limiting beliefs. But in reality - the world (of entrepreneurship) really is your oyster. From Jenny’s 43rd birthday - to our upcoming 1 year podcast anniversary - to unusual pedicures - and wedding photos - we reflect on this year-long journey that has us standing knee-deep in gratitude.

Reflecting on past goals and expectations, we share wisdom we'd offer our younger selves, questioning societal milestones and contemplating unfulfilled dreams. We discuss the evolving meaning of success and fulfillment, encouraging the younger generation to pursue their passions. Our chat touches on everything from Costco must-haves to holiday traditions, wrapping up with a nod to our incredible listeners. Join us in celebrating our journey, our evolving friendship, and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. Cheers to one year and many more to come!

We almost forgot to hit record - so get ready to jump right into it. When Jenny starts by serving up a White Knight from “dirty Myrtle”. Between giant turkey legs and swords - and hinge radius changes. We get back to the hard hitting questions - what pants do knights wear? No really - because it’s not shorts - it’s not tights - but it was making it awfully hard to get a photo during the sword fight so …

The thighs/ quads convo is back on the table - and we’re calling it “sweet meat” as we unpack Raebecca’s type - and she confesses on air - something she’s never said out loud. From yoga outfits - to camel toe - yes, it’s on the table again … and this time it’s walking into the grocery store at the exact moment the bus is unloading the residence from the local assisted living community.

We’re talking about decorating for fall vs Halloween - which holiday is the tiniest bit trashy - and all the surprises we have in store for this season. From glitter skeletons to a girls night with a craft that has us chomping at the bit for late September! (We will share - you’ll want to do this with your friends!).

And we round it out with a discussion on “looking for a woman who is toned - takes good care of herself” and these insane hinge requests from the 50+ male demographic … meanwhile their own photos are a parade of red flags including receding hairlines, the beginning of moobs, and still using the terms “non monogamy” and “finding my relationship style” - god lord and god bless.

And - Jenny has a birthday coming up - so this convo lands somewhere between the fight against aging and male audacity. Sorry not sorry - but if you’re using a 3 in 1 body wash and you want us to split the check - don’t invite us. Have you heard about the men with dish soap in their showers? Yes - this is real. And no this isn’t about feminism - this is about the fact that perfume, hair care (color/ cut/ products), nails, gym memberships, waxing, skin care … don’t ask to split the check.

Shoutout to Core Power Yoga in Mt Pleasant - the entire team is amazing but Hope & Krista have gifted us with a love for yoga again.Apologies for butchering the yoga quote - here it is - and we continue to digest this … “May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears” Nelson Mandela

An incredible episode - a toe dip (because we’re going to have to have her back!) into the world … errr pool of Enneagram with Kelsey Lincoln, a certified Enneagram life coach. This isn’t about strengths and weaknesses - this is about motivation, and what drives people to navigate the world through unique perspectives.

From first “ick” when you learn your type (and that’s not even easy) to the way you navigate your enneagram in both healthy and toxic ways. She talks us through our types, and yours. We tackle the core motivations that drive the behaviors behind each type : core fear - core desire - core weakness - core longing. Are you a moral perfectionist? A befriender? An achiever? A romantic? An investigator? A loyalist? An entertainer? A challenger? A peacemaker?

Do we have your attention yet?

And does it mean to hire and enneagram mentor - Kelsey coaches clients through identifying their enneagram. But then, as a life coach, she teaches you how to navigate your life in your business and a way that keeps you, lack of a better term because she’s not a therapist (but her sister is!), mentally well. You’ll hear us referee this idea of healthy and what health looks like in your enneagram a lot.

Even better she also has a podcast that she cohost with her sister. They the two ideas of your internal personality and then also mental health to discuss different topics like anxiety and how it presents in the body and then how it presents in each personality type.

And guess what? She’s a mom (of course she is), of a very young child. What’s that thing? People always say? Full hands - fuller heart. Inspired to learn the skill after first experiencing it at a work retreat - she took on the task of getting certified as a Enneagram Coach during Covid. There really is something so amazing about Moms these talents and have these passions and then bring them to audiences like ours and us.

Whether it’s your first time hearing about the Enneagram personality type assessment, or it’s your 100th you are really going to enjoy this episode. and you have a full blessing to spend a little extra time on yourself and your wellness - learning about yourself, and investing in yourself. We strongly encourage you to give her a follow or even to reach out to her if you think coaching might be for you (and yes - she does coach teams!).

We switch gears between guests - for a deep convo about family and legacy after Raebecca returns home for a family funeral. Something about funerals and weddings have us digging into impact and reflecting on our own personal legacies. And somehow - SOMEHOW - the big take away was … we’re capable of more, today, tomorrow, and more than we originally thought.

When did life become about cars, and big houses and status symbols - after sitting in a pew and listening to a true legacy, we can’t help but wonder what we’re contributing to the betterment. And we get into the weeds about how inadequate society likes to make us feel, when they don’t understand our “why” (and we don’t mean just our why, we mean anyones why). Including this completely inappropriate question we field SO OFTEN - “How much money do you make from the podcast?” - rude.

This journey is about filling our cups - and yours. With humor, perspective, personal growth - we’re tackling the topics that so many of us face. As moms, working moms, entrepreneurs. And naturally that takes us on a left hand turn into college - graduation ceremonies - and our inability to fully be present in our achievements. We dissect our different approaches to control and success - and validation. Dont worry - we talk ALL about our failures, weight gain, beer and boys. Which one of us went to school with the intention to be a kindergarten teacher? You’re going to be shocked.

And yes - we bring enneagram into this convo - and if you’re an enneagram girl you’re going to want to stay tuned! Next weeks guest is everything ENNEAGRAM - so take the free test and get ready to deep dive into your motivation and drive with our favorite expert.

In loving memory - James Hare

We have KIM RUSSO - from On Brand Designs joining us today - and y’all are in for a treat. We accidentally tried to poison her to kick it off - next time we’re talking allergies before we chose a restaurant (we didn’t know)! She’s got the best sense of humor - and she’s a brilliant entrepreneur … but she also got right into the weeds with us about her personal life, mentality and philosophy - you know that’s our love language.

You might not know - you can’t trademark a logo design you’ve built in canva (without some Olympic efforts). Ever considered the impact AI could have on branding - positive and negative? There’s the potential for the same issue - but on a larger scale … you’re listening now, right?! Unlock the art of building a strong brand identity from a seasoned packaging design professional who’s shaped the visuals of household names like Tide, Gillette, and Kleenex.

Our conversation ranges from minimalist design, color psychology, and the strategy behind memorable logos - but it’s more than business. She opens up about the challenges of transitioning from a corporate environment to her personal business endeavors, and even how a past relationship deeply impacted how she does business. It comes as no surprise - but the impact of a supportive spouse or partner can greatly impact your ability to succeed.

How does owning a business impact your mindset? Hint - she does it with a desk Calendar that’s still set to July 2023. Somewhere between pet portraits - and prioritizing beach time - she delivers a must-listen for anyone struggling with perfectionism or finding their personal brand voice. Kim shares her strategies and mindset tactics on everything from design to how you show up in a design community as a competitor.

She also gives us another personality analysis tool - the human design. From analyzing work habits, to eating habits. Kim enlightens us on life as a “manifesting generator” - and it comes as no shock that her qualities include lighting up a room, inspiring through energy, goal setting and ambition - and ultimately driving achievement in themselves and those around her. You know what they say - you are deeply impacted by the friends and the circle you keep!

“Raise your vibrations - have positive energy - and be in gratitude. And it is not easy.”

Septic does Debby, or is it the other way around? If it wasn’t one thing, it’s another. Water is everywhere - from Jenny’s yard to Raebecca’s ceiling, we are drowning in Mount Pleasant. But when does hair washing trump everything else? At what point are you willing to get in your swimsuit and head out into the rain for a hair wash.

We get a little deep into a few personality epiphanies about how people view us. As a retired/ semi retired people pleasers - we dissect the idea that there are people who will think you are the nicest person ever, and in the same breath someone else can view you as the nastiest person ever. And both can be right. The ability to match energy is quickly becoming one of our shared strengths. Even better? When someone thinks that you can think their thoughts.

Somewhere between planning your own funeral and the cremation debate - we navigate the fact that one of us - often starts their convo 30% into their thoughts - leaving the other fairly bewildered at times. And the other is entirely too literal. Which - has its own unique complexities.

This weeks episode lands somewhere between family plots, the lawn mower (yes, our IT guy wants to be left on the front lawn), our favorite Olympic stories - and the incredible impact the women had on this year’s Summer games. This one will leave you in tears - and you better shed them now because Jenny’s not letting it happen at her service.

You thought we took you on a journey with the camel toe episode - but you weren’t ready for the fart walk talk. Jet set to unpaid water bills - we overshare (as always).

How did a Turkish shooter with minimal gear bag a silver medal or how a nerdy engineer transformed into an Olympic heartthrob on the pommel horse? Where are the romance writers at - surely we’re running this moment into a few spicy novels, right? Something about taking those classes off, gives them the Clark Kent polish - and stands on business.

Something about Snoop - the Olympic Spirit - celebrities like Flava Fav supporting athletes so they can compete at their best, these games have been unforgettable.

Jenny jumps off a plane - and right into recording - after a week long trip with her dad and daughter. How old is too old for Universal - and at 40+ can we just expect to get wrecked when we ride a rollercoaster? The summer is winding down - with our final hurrahs with close family members - daddy daughter days - as adults. Something about it gives us the warm, cozy feeling - and we dig into filling our own cups as school begins and summer ends.

It wouldn’t be an episode if we didn’t get personal. We recount Raebecca’s email inbox struggles - including an unpaid water bill. From the day she moved in. From ceiling struggle stress to email subject lines - why “YES” felt like “NO” - and the short story of how this happens.

And then farts - kiddos to those couples who can do it. But - could you? Where’s the line between freedom and farts in your relationships? And we want you to weigh in - because we’re on the same page but it’s the one where you get the stomach ache from holding it in. We talk friends who have saved their marriage - through farting, don’t believe us? Give a listen.

How did we get here, you ask? One of us joined yoga - and apparently we both share a massive fear of yoga farts. It’s all fun and games … until someone farts.

We kick it off - talking love languages and our favorite resident nocturnal animal. After a 17 hour drive home and a sunrise view of the Statue of Liberty, we are again ships in the night. A front porch t shirt drop - and today’s recording - are the few moments we stole before one of us was back to jet set. And in classic style - we’re taking you with us on this catch up session.

The act of showing someone you’re thinking of them - will forever be one of our favorite love languages. It’s not just a t shirt - it’s a gesture. And in typical mayhem fashion - we add some depth - debating the qualities of our favorite spirit animals.

And a theme - you know your girl loves a theme. And she headed out to NKOTB in a hot pink bodysuit and silver jellies, coloring the rest of us green with envy. Somewhere between thunderstorms and gas lights - we are still finding romance in the everyday.

And - what’s more romantic than a quickie? We end today’s episode with a conversation about prioritizing family and friends. From scheduling time - and protecting it - no diff than you would a doctors appointment or time with your stylist - how do you ensure you get time with your people? There’s always room for flexibility - and the impromptu quickie. It’s the balance of both for this duo.

Last week’s snail trail episode was the podcast version of the quickie - and y'all had lots to say about it. We questioned the chaos of it - but you came back and said it was one of your favorite episodes! Something about hearing you say “it felt like I was in the car with you guys” or “on the couch with you” or “at your girls dinner” will always mean so much. We welcome the feedback, and while we know we will continue to grow - we would be remiss if we didn’t snag the opportunity to celebrate your voices and thank you, for everything.

What’s - in a name? Scooby is back. And she’s never been to a fireworks stand. A simple visit to an American institution helps us dip our toes into the pool of rage … but, it’s not what you think.

What if the simple joys of a local diner experience are being overshadowed by our obsession with perfection and high costs? By our ability to give “feedback”. Has the ability to complain freely ruining our joy? Since when did breakfast have to be brunch? If we created a food truck - would you come? Where did feedback end, and “complain culture” begin? Is competition to blame - or are we just top tier whiners?

Ever wondered how social media and authenticity intersect in a world dominated by complaint culture? We dive into how relatable, genuine posts can outshine the curated content flooding our feeds. With personal anecdotes and dining experiences, we examine how critical online reviews, particularly those that are unwarranted, can harm small businesses.

Are men and women different in their approach to complaints? Would your rather - service over the meal itself? Where’s the line - where’s the limit - and who is to blame?

Thought we weren’t talking marketing today? Think again. We delve into the pressures new businesses face and the significance of bravery in fostering growth and innovation. Inspired by Jesse Cole and his revolutionary Savannah Bananas, we highlight the value of risk-taking and learning from failure - and yes, sometimes that means quirky skincare routines featuring beef tallow and snail mucin - is comparison the thief of joy?

It wouldn’t be us - if we didn’t express heartfelt gratitude to our listeners, the "Scoobies," you are the charm to our mayhem - the grace to our chaos. Thank you.

Here’s a not so fun conversation - and another dive into our candidness : today’s podcast sound quality isn’t our best. And while we discussed re-filming it - we decided that showing our vulnerability was more important. Thank you for giving us the grace and understanding - we know, that you know, that we value and take pride in our work - and we also know that life isn’t always “perfect”. Here’s to standing in the gap.

Do you get to pick your niche, or does your niche pick you? We tackle the “promise, our website is almost finished” convo - because it’s been on our minds, but our plates have been really full. And in the spirit of gritty, our clients come first. Which cascades into a conversation about how “leaders eat last.” The idea of serving your customer and your team first - always.

And wouldn’t you know it, the minute somebody mentions food we can’t help but dig into our idiosyncrasies as we take a left-hand turn to learning a whole lot more about one another, from deli meat to wiggly chicken. We still don’t know which one of us missed lunch - but that’s the only plausible explanation for our 5 min left turn into pure food comedy. Praying yall are in the same page as us … (please - let us know!)

Tune in as we recount an encounter with the "McDonald's man" on Hinge, whose unsolicited dietary advice was an instant dealbreaker. This man openly asked for the opportunity to sit one of our team members down and have “a talk” about her food habits - and essentially said, “maybe after we’ve talked I’ll take you to dinner”. Audacity must be on sale somewhere.

This leads us to brainstorm a tongue-in-cheek business idea: coaching men on how to improve their online dating profiles. We even ponder the charm of niche dating sites like FarmersOnly.com, envisioning a Hallmark-style romance amidst Christmas tree lots and charming farmers. It's a fun, light-hearted segment that explores the quirks and frustrations of modern dating. And ultimately marketing mindset - we just can’t help ourselves - this truly is our passion.

We start with a dose of therapy - because sometimes you have a moment, whether is 6 donuts or a forgetful moment - and it’s best just to tell someone, to lay it on the table … errrr the podcast. If you’ve ever had to buy a whole new wardrobe at Target, because you forgot your suitcase at home, you’re in good company.

Tales of the tallow - Instagram got the better of us (once again) when we stumbled upon a a reel touting beef tallow face cream. What seemed like a bizarre skincare trend has turned into an amusing anti aging experiment. Toss in a handwritten note - because we bought the beef from a small business (say that 5 times fast) - and big promises from simple ingredients and you’re speaking our language.

We tiptoe into the reason “influencers” are dying out - whether we buy based on celebrities or tv star recommendations (the surprising answer is, no) - and why genuine product recommendations from friends are worth more than any flashy ad. * Hint - trust is big around here. And then we unpack the power of social presence, and why likes and followers, aren’t how we gauge social media impact.

This episode is all Amazon - we pull back the curtain on the Amazon Influencer Program and our love-hate relationship with online shopping. From the brutal commissions for affiliates (3% - that’s $30 for every $1,000 sold, YIKES) to the name Amazon almost had … Cadabra. Which brings up a great point - the importance of branding and a strong marketing strategy. Because Cadabra … sounds an awful lot like cadaver.

In celebration of Prime Days - we share some personal shopping favorites, including a face sculptor, cooling sheets, and a conversation about balancing support for small businesses with the lure of two-day shipping. And of course - because we are who we are - we can’t help but remind you that Amazon started in a garage - in 1994. There’s still time to chase the dream or do the big thing. Trust us. Whether it's beauty tips, home decor hacks, or just some good old-fashioned humor, this episode has something for everyone.

HAPPY 4TH of JULY! The intro you don’t know you needed - from singing to considering voice lessons and the idea that “people will do anything for money”.

Ever wondered if your perfectionist tendencies are a product of your genes, or just a learned behavior? Join us as we unpack the fascinating world of nostalgia, performance anxiety, and the pressures of perfectionism, all from Jenny’s husband’s childhood bedroom filled with old trophies and memories.

Did you know anxiety is genetic? Join us as we consider whether or not that’s why we survived evolution - our ability to please and our ability to be strong contributors.

Don’t miss our take on "Inside Out 2" and how it introduces new emotional dimensions that resonate with kids. As the universe feeds us repetitive themes - nostalgia - anxiety - and romance - we hit pause and unpack each one because nothing is by accident. And if the universe is trying to get our attention, we’re determined to pause and to listen. And somehow - in typical mayhem fashion - we discuss the unique roles we see one another in … 1776. From butter churning to chopping wood and fixing wagons - we take you on a left hand turn, back to “not history” class.

As we navigate through the complexities of personal boundaries in relationships, our discussion becomes a heartfelt reflection on how to maintain friendships while protecting our peace. From a friend feeling excluded to balancing alone time, we share real-life experiences that highlight the importance of setting and respecting boundaries. And we discuss peace - and romance. The simple romance - or the “glimmer” as we later heard it referred to - of finding gratitude in the simplest of things.

Emphasizing the value of self-worth and platonic love, (yes - the kind we don’t talk about enough - the love we learned from our girlfriends) - we reflect on the journey of moving past the need for validation and embracing those who uplift us. Tune in for a mix of thoughtful reflection, humor, and heartfelt moments as we explore what makes summer and life so sweet.

Happy 4th to you and yours !
    - Jenny & Raebecca
