Using traditional pot stills, artesian well water and our bosque location for aging, we source and distill local ingredients from blue corn to juniper, piñon and more into "The Spirits of New Mexico".
All Algodones products are available at our 2 Tasting Room locations - Algodones and Ruidoso - and in may fine retailers, bars and restaurants statewide. If you don't see us on the shelves or behind the bar be sure to have the manager ask for us.
Be our guest(s)! Interested in seeing how our spirits are crafted? Tours are available on Saturdays from 12 noon to 4pm, or by special arrangement on weekends Friday to Monday most weeks. Since we are a small, private craft distillery we require a reservation and can send you the details in an email. Cheers! and Drink Kindly.

This year’s winners started early in the NM restaurant industry. One partner started as a dishwasher straight out of high school at Cattle Baron and eventually moved up to management at other restaurants. Years later, he’d share his superpowers by traveling to struggling restaurants from Oregon to Florida and help to turn them around by focusing on retraining staff and revamping menus and décor. In 2015, a lifelong dream was realized when a partnership was formed to open their own restaurant in Socorro, New Mexico. Now, they were a superhero duo. As partners and operators of Yo Mama’s Grill, this year’s winners led their staff and helped their local community. The restaurant sponsored many local sports teams, dance troops, medical charities and community arts programs, and one owner even sewed custom masks for employees and others in need. During the pandemic, their Health and Safety Guidelines were adopted by the mayor and used as a benchmark for all restaurants in the area. Their superpowers of loyalty, camaraderie, and caring leadership have served us all. Congratulations to the 2021 Restaurateur of the Year winners, Deidra and Jason Vinson of Yo Mama’s Grill.

This year’s Superhero Chef has spent 45 years completely dedicated to the passion and craft of the table. He was awarded James Beard Best Chef of the Southwest in 2005 and just celebrated his 20th anniversary as the owner of The Compound in Santa Fe. Under his energetic leadership, The Compound has won many awards for their food, wine, and service. His superpowers of innovation, style, and freshness results in a Contemporary American menu focusing on regional ingredients and local sourcing. He also supports the culinary community and works directly with many charities. NMRA is proud to honor 2021’s Chef of the Year, Mark Kiffin of The Compound.

He is also the director of the 505 Food Fights, a food competition that promotes our industry and has raised tens of thousands for charity. His own personal and physical challenges have been no match for his superpowers of empathy and tenacity. In his words, he uses life’s challenges as motivation to professionally and personally be an inspiration to others chasing down their dreams. Congrats to 2021 Restaurant Neighbor Winner Mike White of High Point Grill and Rustico Italian Kitchen.

Izanami is an izakaya serving upscale japanese bar food. Small plates meant for sharing, creatively prepared locally-sourced meat and produce with an emphasis on seasonality, all accompanied by unique libations. Don't expect the usual. There is no nigiri sushi. No soggy tempura. Definitely none of the sickly-sweet, hot sake that has given sake such a bad rap. They are extremely selective about their purveyors and only order enough seafood and organic produce to get them through the day. Most of our beef is wagyu. It's possibly the most delicious meat you will ever eat. They have the best selection of artisanal microbrew cold sake found anywhere between the coasts, green teas from shizuoka, locally roasted coffee drinks, ten different japanese craft beers, and housemade spritzers.
