  • Welcome to your favorite spooky podcast about some of scariest cinematic bombs!

On this week’s thrilling episode, the gang bids a bittersweet farewell to the spookiest season of the year—yes, Spooktober is coming to a close. But hold on to your hats, folks, because this episode might have more tricks than treats! Our intrepid crew takes us deep into the realm of science fiction as they discuss the 2007 horror film The Invasion. Now, this motion picture marks the fourth cinematic adaptation of the 1955 novel “The Body Snatchers,” and stars none other than Nicole Kidman, alongside a pre-007 Daniel Craig, as they battle a world teeming with—you guessed it—body-snatching aliens!

Joining the crew for this out-of-this-world discussion is Sammy from the GGTMC, and let me tell you, folks, things get wild fast. The conversation spirals into a chaotic frenzy—one so bizarre, it’s been described as, and I quote, ‘like someone farting into your can of oatmeal.’ Now, if that doesn’t paint a picture, I don’t know what will!

So, dim the lights and prepare yourself for this light-hearted yet outlandish dive into The Invasion. It's all happening on the Not A Bomb Podcast—where absurdity reigns supreme, and the scares? Well, they're a little less than terrifying. Stay tuned!

The Invasion is directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel and stars Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig, Jeremy Northam, and Jeffery Wright.

  • Welcome back to the most ghoulish podcast about some of your favorite cinematic bombs

Spooky season is officially here, and Troy and Brad are diving headfirst into the blaxploitation horror classic, Bones, from 2001. Featuring the one and only D-O-Double-G, Snoop Dogg, alongside the iconic Pam Grier, this film delivers a powerful exploration of urban life, drug culture, and the bold declaration of “killing the white people first!” It’s a gritty horror experience that packs a punch.

With Pam Grier at the helm, you know you're in for a treat. Bones may be an often-overlooked gem of the early 2000s, but don't let its surface-level charm fool you—after our discussion, you might just find it’s Not A Bomb.

The film proudly wears its Italian horror influences, drawing inspiration from the likes of Dario Argento and Lucio Fulci. (So don't tell, Brad) So grab your popcorn, dim the lights, and get ready for a thrilling ride through this captivating urban nightmare.

Bones is directed by Ernest Dickerson and stars Snoop Dogg (Two G’s), Pam Grier, Khalil Kain, Clifton Powell, Bianca Lawson, and Michael T. Weiss.

  • Welcome back to Not A Bomb! This is the podcast where we dive into some of cinema's biggest box office failures and explore whether they deserve a second chance!

As the spooky season unfolds, Troy and Brad tackle the supernatural horror film of 2023, The Exorcist: Believer. This sixth installment in the Exorcist series, directed by David Gordon Green, treats horror fans as if they’ve never experienced a well-crafted scare before. It’s baffling how a film can simultaneously recycle horror clichés while attempting to address themes of faith with all the finesse of a sledgehammer. Let’s face it: this movie is a mess, and the guys don’t hold back in their critique, exposing the film’s glaring flaws and their hatred of David Gordon Green. Save yourself the frustration; instead of subjecting yourself to this cinematic disappointment, seek out a genuinely good horror film that respects the genre, your intelligence, and your time.

The Exorcist: Believer is directed by David Gordon Green and stars Leslie Odom Jr., Lidya Jewett, Olivia O’Neill, Jennifer Nettles, Norbert Leo Butz, Ann Dowd, and Ellen Burstyn

  • Welcome back to Not A Bomb! This is the podcast where we dive into some of cinema's biggest box office failures and explore whether they deserve a second chance!

Spooky season has arrived, and what’s more haunting than films that flopped at the box office? We’re kicking off Spooktober with Troy’s favorite actor, Tom Cruise, and his 2017 fantasy action-adventure The Mummy. Joined by frequent guest Sammy of the GGTMC, the crew gets “wrapped up” in a lively discussion. Troy quizzes the gang on their favorite Cruise movies (no shame here!), and they dive deep into some lesser-known gems from the actor’s career. Eventually, they unravel the mystery of The Mummy itself—packed with all the classic Tom Cruise charm. With a mere 15% on Rotten Tomatoes and the title of Cruise’s lowest-rated film, could The Mummy actually be “Not A Bomb”? Tune in and find out!

The Mummy (2017) is directed Alex Kurtzman and stars Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis, Sofia Boutella, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, Marwan Kenzari and Russell Crowe

Sadly, Listener Request Month has reached its final full moon, but don’t worry—Troy and Brad are still howling with excitement for the last suggestion. Dedicated pack member Philip sank his fangs into Wolfen, a horror crime thriller often mistaken for a werewolf flick. But surprise—Wolfen is more of a police procedural than a howling night of lycanthropic mayhem. The guys sniff out why Wolfen didn’t quite sink its claws into audiences, bask in the coolness of Gregory Hines, and even sink their teeth into 10 horror films they’re gearing up to devour in October.

Wolfen is directed by Michael Wadleigh and stars Albertt Finney, Diane Venora, Edward James Olmos, Gregory Hines and Tom Noonan.

Listener Request Month takes a little pause as the guys gather in the same room to record a special episode with Jose and Alex from Watch Skip Plus. To celebrate this momentous occasion, there was only one film that could do it justice: The Substance. Equal parts Cronenberg and Showgirls, The Substance stands apart from anything previously covered on the podcast—and with its current box office flop, it’s officially podcast-worthy. The hosts also dive into their favorite finds from Baltimore Comic-Con and share thoughts on the movies they've been watching lately. So, grab a seat, relax, and tune in for conversations about fame, body image, chewing sounds, and the ever-debated pronunciation of Demi Moore's name. Plus, everyone experiences a weirdly flavored drink for the plus!

The Substance is directed by Coralie Fargeat and stars Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley, and Dennis Quaid.

    Spoilers for The Substance between - (105:36 - 143:34)

Listener Request Month continues as Troy and Brad finally delve into the frequently requested film, "One from the Heart," directed by Francis Ford Coppola. This movie is a musical disguised as a drama, depicting the story of a Las Vegas couple going through a breakup and the tumultuous journey their relationship takes during one eventful night apart. It is a fascinating look into a film that almost bankrupted a movie studio and the lengths Coppola took to see this to its conclusion. Listen as the guys talk about hairy-chested men, the sexy appeal of Raul Julia, and relationship advice.

One from the Heard is directed by Francis Ford Coppola and stars Frederic Forrest, Teri Garr, Raul Julia, Natassja Kinski, Lainie Kazan, and Harry Dean Stanton

Listener Request Month rolls on as Troy and Brad welcome back Sammy of the GGTMC to take on one of the most intense films the podcast has ever covered. This week, we're headed to the trailer park with a big bucket of the Colonel’s famous chicken in hand to dive into the 2011/2012 Southern Neo-Noir, Killer Joe. Brace yourself—this film is not for the faint of heart. It's brutal, violent, and pushes boundaries, fully earning its NC-17 rating. The gang covers everything from the best fried chicken to Matthew McConaughey’s chilling performance, and even debates if this might be the movie that broke the Movie Guide scale. Killer Joe is unforgettable, but definitely not for everyone—proceed with caution.

Killer Joe is directed by William Friedkin and stars Matthew McConaughey, Emile Hirsch, Juno Temple, Gina Gershon, and Thomas Haden Chruch.

To launch Listener Request Month, agents Troy and Brad were handed a covert mission: select a spy flick. Their choice? The Avengers. But hold your horses, this isn’t that Avengers. No capes, no superheroes—just the 1998 version. A tangled mess of a film, so baffling it left everyone scratching their heads. Jeremiah S. Chechik, the director, well... let’s just say, after this disaster, he found himself locked up in movie prison. Tune in as the boys unravel the chaos, question if any pair of leads has ever shared less chemistry, and wonder why in the world you'd hire Eddie Izzard… and not let her talk.

The Avengers, directed by Jeremiah S. Chechik, stars Ralph Fiennes, Uma Thurman, Sean Connery, and Jim Broadbent.

  • Guten Tag! Welcome back to your favorite podcast about some of cinema’s biggest bombs.

This week, we embarked on an unforgettable journey with our trusty companions, Troy and Brad, and a special guest—none other than John from the YouTube channel - And Now For Something A Little Bit Different. Our destination? The wild, unpredictable world of 2004’s notorious comedy, EuroTrip.

As we journeyed through the ups and downs of this cinematic adventure, we couldn’t help but long for the familiar laughs of sex comedy classics like American Pie and Porky’s. Poor Scotty didn’t know, or perhaps just wasn’t prepared, for the disdain some of us would harbor for this merry jaunt through various European locales, led by four of the dullest characters ever to grace the screen. Yet, amid the chuckles and eye-rolls, a lone defender rose to the occasion, ready to champion this so-called "gem." It was a whirlwind of emotions as we explored this quirky piece of film history, and trust us - you won't want to miss out on this hilarious and slightly painful ride!

EuroTrip is directed by Jeff Schaffer and stars Scott Mechlowicz, Jacob Pitts, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Travis Wester
